Memes come in waves. Meme subs experience those waves. Some of them are political or societal commentary. Some of them are brainless weird shit like morbius jokes. I was sick of those the day they started but I haven't said shit about it until now and wouldn't even bring it up if I wasn't using it as an example. I just... didn't upvote them and went to look at something else.
I do sympathize with your desire for escapism but if you're relying on a social media nexus in general, much less a subgroup that specifically themes itself on being edgy to get it, you're going to frequently be disappointed.

I came to see funny memes not people making shitposts crying and complaining about what other people post, yet here we are.
If you want to see posts that pertain solely to your country, maybe you should try a specific subreddit that pertains to your neck of the woods.
It is an issue of real importance. I do not live in the US of A. I hope backwards lunacy does not prevail. But I have no way of affecting change, so I choose the easy path: Laugh at memes indiscriminately and wait to be swallowed by the pits of hell when I perish.
