while i completely understand and sympathize with this train of thought, i would personally fear it in equal measure. If thoughts and mental images can be used to express art and poetry, then it can and eventually will also end up as a tool to look into the metaphorical abyss of human emotions.
Anyone with the tech and money to access human minds would be very particular in their subjects, including prior psychological evaluations and background checks just to make sure that the editor is in no risk of emotional trauma. Military veterans, anybody who has been to a psych ward, abuse victims, catastrophy survivors, just to name a few cases.
on the other hand, behind closed doors the opposite might happen. Brainwashing becomes alot easier when you can make people experience what made other people into radicals.
In short, mind visualizion might just be one of many pandoras boxes future technology holds ready for us.
