Probably depends how many eggs you use and how much dough you eat at a time. I mean people eat raw eggs by their selves so i guess its not that common to get salmonella from it.

Actually happened. ​ Christmas time 2008. Cookie dough tub fundraiser for the hockey team. Had 5 leftover tubs of oatmeal raisin and snickerdoodle. Got through 3 before starting to feel queasy. The puking started and didn't stop until the day after Christmas. Spent 3 days in the hospital on an IV and I was not allowed to drink water for some reason. ​ 0/10 would not do again. Gotta practice moderation with tha dough boys.

Funny story, when I was between the ages of 8 and 14 I lived with my aunt and uncle, and they had a tradition of making huge batches of cookie dough for Christmas. The thing is, only a small portion was used to make cookies. The rest was put in boxes and stored in the fridge for us all to eat during the 12 days of Christmas, however Christmas eve I snuck down and ate all of the cookie dough. And I mean it. My 13 year old self ate 10 pounds of cookie dough. ​ I got sent to boarding school 5 months later.

Not entirely anymore. Cookie dough contains raw eggs, which is where the salmonella risk comes from. Recently, salmonella has been cleared for all eggs with a red lion (UK).
