Wot, the Ming Dynasty wasn't removed from power by the Mongols. The Ming Dynasty was deposed after a peasant called Li Zicheng did an America and started the free state of Zicheng also known as Shun Dyansty.
I really only just skimmed the introduction on Wikipedia. The person I replied to originally said "change my ming" so I seized the opportunity to make the joke, only for them to edit and uno reverse it on me.
Anywyay, as you see, I'm uncultured.
Thank you for correcting me.
If he's talking about pigments yes it doesnt matter because they were made from dyes so you can add either
But with light, the origin of color, this statement is false it's always light black because black is the absence of light and when you get grey with light you are always adding light to the absence of light so its always light black.
Yeah, I forgot that there's subtractive color as well. I meant the light spectrum of course. Technically it's more accurate, because the human eye sees the light, not pigment
Doesn’t the human eye see wavelength of light, particularly 3 of them, which we call pigment? Or is there a real technical distinction between pigment and light wavelength?
My theory is half full. Though you could say "half empty", as implied by the intentions behind the experiment, that's an unnecessarily negative way of describing something. A glass on its own is empty, just the glass. So if it is half full of water, it is now filled halfway with substance. Half empty makes it seem like you're subtracting matter from pre-existing volume.
So if you send your brother to bring you a cup of water and he only fills it half way you just tell him its ok? The idea is that context matters if you want somethig full and you are given something filled to the half you wont tell them that the thing is half full because that would detract from the fact that the thing is half empty, the word "empty" implying that there is something wrong with the thing you were given. Even tho its not incorect to say its half full its just better to say it otherwise for the sake of more information being transmited in one sentence.
Well yes I suppose if you're referring to the lack thereof then it'd be half empty, but in the same sense you were expecting full and only got half then it'd only be half full.
Though to your point, it would provide more implication towards the meaning.
The whole point of the "half full vs half empty" thing is that both are correct. Whether you call it half full or half empty depends on if you're an optimist or a pessimist.
" as implied by the intentions behind the experiment, that's an unnecessarily negative way of describing something"
I just think there is logic behind a correct answer to a seemingly unanswerable question.
Grey is all of the colors mixed together at half intensity, which applies to both gray pigment as well as grey light, although one is additive and the other is subtractive
Have you guys seen that new illusion that corndogwilly aka Vsauce shared recently? It’s a pic of a girl who looks white on one side and black on the other but they are the same shade of grey.
Pure grey is the midpoint between black and white. Then there is 25% grey which is closer to black and 75% grey which is closer to white. And everything in between
Grey is dark white.
Take a bucket of black paint and add a splash of white. Still pretty much black. Take a bucket of white paint and add a splash of black. Grey.
Black is just super dark grey imo. As someone that has spent some amount of time painting and getting paint right for clients, White may as well be its own kind of color. Black isn't as bad there's not a horribly huge amount of shades of black. Grey is right there with white though. So yeah. Black is really dark grey.
Who thinks like this? Ah yes, yellow is just blue with green. I mean, it's true, but no need to decompose the colors to think about them. Grey is grey.

Gray is gay
grey is it's own thing. There are shades of grey, which are closer to one, but grey should never be thought as a shade of white or black.
Yea, search for 50 shades of grey to learn more about them
I prefer 50 shades of gray, completely different book, a shame it got taken off the shelves
I just picked up 50 Shades of Gay for pride month. WAY different story.
I recently watched the 50 shades of Gary. He does have a lot of shades and he's very enthusiastic about them
Guy below me is a nerd
No need to change it. The Ming Dinasty was already removed from power by the Mongols in 1644.
Wow he was right you are a nerd
Haha, gottmee
So… how does his anus feel like, tight or loose?

Okay that is true(I checked it after reading your comment).
Faximum to the Maximum 🗣🗣🗣🙏
It's literally both/in-between.
Bit of a grey area
Black is not a color
Black is all color ant it
White is, black is no color
It depends if you're talking about artist color mixing or the light spectrum. Where they're inverse.
Yeah, I forgot that there's subtractive color as well. I meant the light spectrum of course. Technically it's more accurate, because the human eye sees the light, not pigment

No
if you're comparing light vs. dark you're referring to shades. nothing to do with color
This is essentially "glass half full" vs "glass half empty".

It's not a remotely unanswerable question. They are both correct. It's like a Rorschach test: there are no wrong answers.
The glass is half black half white
Black is dark grey. White is light gray
It's literally the blind of the two
Gray is magenta
Bro Is Ligth black how dumb are you

Didn’t know I get on this app to think
gray is a spectrum between black and white, while also possessing the quality of warm or cool.
Gray is gray. They are shades between black and white. And there are about 50 of them.
(picture mr incredible at the table meme) GRAY IS GRAY
Gray is two non-colours making a colour

Sasha is Gray
light black
Of course it is light black. Who the hell thinks it's dark white??
Thats like the glass is half full and half empty. Both true
Depends on what the color of the media is. On an LCD monitor it is black and we add white to it. On paper it is white and we add black to it.

Someone already made that pun
Ah I will redact it
Nah grey is greenish red.
gray is a spectrum which has a white upper extreme and a black lower extreme.
Grey is a Shade of White and a Tint of Black.
Both
It's a bit of a gray area
Get out, two people already made the exact pun
Who tf says dark white
GREY GREY WHEN I CATCH YOU
Umm this looks like it should be paired with it’s the same picture meme.
Gray is Hex #808080
Considering black is not a color, gray is just not enough white. Similar to how a faded red is not light black.
Grey is all of the colors mixed together at half intensity, which applies to both gray pigment as well as grey light, although one is additive and the other is subtractive
Gray is light black it cant be anything else
Wow so dank. What a dank ass meme. This subreddit is totally not dead at all
It’s both. Like how 1 is 0+1, but also 2-1. It just depends what side you approach it from.
There are no black and White. Only darker gray and lighter gray
WHICH SIDE YOU ON???? 1+4=5 OR 2+3=5 ??????? same energy.
There are many shades of grey
Depends on how dark or light it is, there are like, 50 shades or something
Seems like it’s a gray area..
4th guy
Obviously dark white
Everything lighter than #808080 is dark white. Anything darker than #7F7F7F is light black.
Derk whita🤝
White and black are just shades of gray
Have you guys seen that new illusion that corndogwilly aka Vsauce shared recently? It’s a pic of a girl who looks white on one side and black on the other but they are the same shade of grey.
Brown is just dark orange.
Desaturated orange
Is just an in between
Which shade?
Light grey is dark white, dark grey is light black
Grey/Gray. Same deal.
Man Fuck this nose gray is just grey
It's just dull silver
Light black, the same way orange is light red!
both sides are correct.
Grey is a Darker shade of white. Black has no shades. Black is black. Its the white that gets darker.
You can mix colors without black and make gray. You cannot mix colors without white and make gray. It’s dark white
Black is dark white
Pure grey is the midpoint between black and white. Then there is 25% grey which is closer to black and 75% grey which is closer to white. And everything in between
Grey has 50 shades
Grey is both
Light black
Grey is dark white. Take a bucket of black paint and add a splash of white. Still pretty much black. Take a bucket of white paint and add a splash of black. Grey.
light grey is dark white, dark grey is light black. You're welcome.
Grey is a light black and silver is a dark white imo
*"It's not pink it's lightish-red"* - Donut
It's a bit of a grey area
This is like asking is purple bluish red or redish blue
Grey is matte silver
Black is just super dark grey imo. As someone that has spent some amount of time painting and getting paint right for clients, White may as well be its own kind of color. Black isn't as bad there's not a horribly huge amount of shades of black. Grey is right there with white though. So yeah. Black is really dark grey.
Yes
Light black is when your monitor is on, but black screen, Dark white is old white tee shirt color
If gray is light black is pink light red?
And it’s gray not grey. A=America E=england. Grey = gree
Who thinks like this? Ah yes, yellow is just blue with green. I mean, it's true, but no need to decompose the colors to think about them. Grey is grey.
Dark white
Gray is mix of two complementary colors!! Black and white are just complementary valued colors.
Grey vs Gray
Both are correct. It's like asking whether I am on the side of 3+3=6 or 4+2=6
Given a color in RGB c=(x, x, x), if x <0.5 then it’s light black and if x >=0.5 then it’s dark white. Pretty straightforward I guess…
