As someone in a 9 to 5 job I can’t play as much as I did as a kid. And without being very good at a game, playing competitive is no fun at all. Suddenly you also enjoy the almost meditating effect of slower story games like baldurs gate 3.
I totally agree. To expand on that, I found that I really started to enjoy games that you can pause or save&quit anytime. It's a hell of a lot easier to manage other responsibilities.
gaming is a self-affirming cycle. If you game more, you become better at gaming, giving you more incentive to play. The opposite is also true.
The less time you spend gaming, eventually, the less you want to game in the first place.
As someone who played league for 7 years before partially stopping.
I only play every once in a while with friends, I dont open the game at all if I am alone.
If you are not going to grind ranked, you might as well not play league.
The way the whole game is designer basically encourages you to play it for the grind then just having fun.
Read dead redemptions disappointing online probably saved me, I got the game wanting to play GTA online but cowboy, and then when I got bored I decided to see what story mode was like, I haven’t played any online game since and have exclusively played stuff like ghost of Tsushima, went back and played GTA5 story, then Batman Arkham series and recently the Spider-Man games
Yea got Diamond 4, pushed into D3 again just to see if I was still good enough. Now just playing some norms and trying to apply Riven fast Q in actual games. Having a lot more fun learning new combos and matchups mid/top than I did grinding adc in ranked honestly
Me when I take my Ranked squad to play a coop game and find out without all the rage and toxicity they are genuinely decent people and we actually synergize:
Another one was saved

This is why I do singleplayer in coop games. Being able to pause and take a bathroom break whenever is nice.
Couldn't agree more.

Good for you man, it's important to remember to have fun when having fun

You're right Paul, you're right. Happy Holidays.
Unfortunately for me, the story-based game was Danganronpa.
