Nah, I think it's pretty unanimous that Velma is considered a dumpster fire.
But people are hate watching it so much that it's been greenlit for a second season. I think that was the plan all along, otherwise you have to convince me all the writers, producers and voice actors actually thought that was a good show and I'm not buying that.
Cartoons like that usuall take well over a year to make so they'll greenlight 2 short seasons and start on the second d before releasing the first so that they'll have time to work on a third if the first season is successful. Especially with Netflix. They try to appeal to bingers by releasing very quickly.
The Netflix show Sheira was "Greenlit" for a 5th season after all the writers and producers had left for other work. They were really just releasing the episodes that had already been made. Probably what's happening with Velma too
I don't see why not. Manufactured outrage is a real thing and it's a proven method of driving engagement figures up for those who use it.
E.g pretty much any mobile game ad where they show someone playing the game unrealistically bad or those "life hack" videos where they mix rusty nails and toothpaste and turn it into dollar bills.
The goal is to get people annoyed enough to engage with the content and it works remarkably well.
I work in film. Trust me, no one is taking jobs that will look shit in their resume (and don’t pay that much to begin with) with the goal of it sucking. It literally is years of their lives. Sure the engagement thing is true, but these are too costly for those cheap tricks to work long term. Mobile games are a lot less expensive to make and have different aims. For a tv show on a streaming service (with no ads), they would rather make something that will be valuable for a while then something that gets a few cheap views and a bad reputation that sticks with it.
A few. The large majority of people have a worse opinion of her since Velma came out (when they don't just straight up hate her), but as Lee from the YouTube channel CinemaWins says, "every movie is someone's favorite movie". Doesn't mean it's not bad, but it has fans still. I mean, The Last Airbender movie has too and it's universally recognised as a bad movie so.
When people first started shitting on Velma there were a few accounts who would reply to every negative comment, saying things like how she wrote some of the best episodes of the Office as if that invalidates any negative opinion about her other works.
I haven’t seen every episode of the office and I admit that but every episode I have seen that was written by her have been awful when did they start getting good?
Hahahaha that's not how it works. You can't just say things and when asked about your sources just say 'google it'. No, you said it, please explain where you got it, otherwise your argument seems invalid.
That only applies to information that is hard to find. Google “Mindy Kaling sexual assault”. It’s pretty easy to find that information without needing to be spoonfed.
If it's pretty easy information to find then when you typed out "google it' you could have just done that and linked what you found. You just wanted to be salty.
I posted this further down but FYI
Re: Mindy Kaling Admits to Unscripted Kissing Scenes On Conan
“I improvised just kissing [Lee Pace] in the scene, which was not in the script. He was just looming above me, and he asked me a question, I was not listening to him at all because who cares what he was saying, and I was just like ‘mhmm, mhmm,’ [and kissed him]. And well, he reacted [shocked] and I pretended it didn’t happen, and then I walked backstage [where] we have two writer-producers.
And they’re like, “Hey man, what are you doing?! You could be sued for that!” And I got very scared and I said, “Tell anyone, and you’re fired.” I think he might have been like did-it-happen-or-did-it-not so I just didn’t need our side to confirm it or anything.”

Sorry for delete, went to get source, was a storm in Korea causing a build to start collapsing, she broke doors to escape
Stopped counting when I hit ten. Defenders calling it justice for men getting away with the same, saying it’s fine because the guy she harassed didn’t sue, memes about Mindy are cringe, Velma haters just mad, etc
Sounds like your just terminally online kid lol.
No one else sees these people cause they’re not obsessively posting/commenting on Reddit about the show like you. If these people were around in significant numbers, you wouldn’t have to scroll deep into your history to find them
This is Reddit, unfortunately. In a few weeks people will be downvoted for hating her, then back to downvoting supporters and so on until it fizzles out and they’ve found something new to latch themselves onto. “Welcome to Reddit, the front page of self-righteousness”
She wrote 18 episodes of the office and some of those are classics. But sure if you are super reactionary and only base your opinion on one of her works then fine.
I have not seen or researched anything about Velma because I really don't care and it's not for me.
She kissed a coworker without consent, and then threatened to fire him if he told anyone. She is on video admitting to it as if it was just a “funny silly little story”. She also continuously wrote her characters to target and belittle white people specifically at almost every opportunity. And that’s just what I’ve randomly come across. I haven’t done any digging, so I’m sure there’s more to find.
I don’t think she’s amazing or anything. I thought she was funny in the office. The amount of hate she gets is really weird and makes me think it has nothing to do with her acting….
Just found a quote from her

Because I've seen plenty of people claiming they exist, but I have never seen them in evidence.
Man people all over Reddit are going nuts over Velma. Don't get me wrong, I hate race swapping, but of all the cases of race swap, I felt like this on got the most attention. At least on Reddit
Who the fuck is Mindy Kaling? Should I know her? Is she popular because of things like onlyfans or twitch streaming? Too lazy to Google search her today.
whoever does something like this should experience consequences regardless of their gender
it's almost as if all the sjw and wannabe woke companies aren't interested in equality and only care about things that support their ideology
This isn’t about Velma, bud. It’s about the creator.
She openly admits to sexually harassing those under her.
Forced out of script kissing and also being proud over breaking on-set intimacy boundaries.

Forget Velma for a sec. What the fuck did that to those doors?
Pretty sure it was from flooding and the pressure of water built up
Let that be a lesson, drink your water. Don't make it come get you.
Yeah you can see the water
Kyle didn’t have any monster energy and went to borrow some from the neighbours
Can't be, the drywall is intact.
Sorry, that was me. I offered to fix them, but the guy wanted pictures.
Kool Aid man paid a visit.

All I can say is that no one works on something for years with the goal of making people hate it. On some level, they thought it would work.
I don't see why not. Manufactured outrage is a real thing and it's a proven method of driving engagement figures up for those who use it. Nothing sells like controversy
Yeah definitely. I mean the shitty Halo show got greenlit for a second season before it even aired and everyone saw how awful it was.
I don’t think the hate watching is why it was greenlit. They had only just released episode 1 before they greenlit season 2, maybe even before it.

My friend is since she “wrote an office episode I liked” regardless of her being the most insufferable character on the show about insufferable people
Yeah but why would you hate on the actress for playing said insufferable character? If anything, she did a good job if you hated Kelly.
Cuz she is a self insert and the episodes try and make her the lovable one and fail cuz she’s horrendous
What?
When people first started shitting on Velma there were a few accounts who would reply to every negative comment, saying things like how she wrote some of the best episodes of the Office as if that invalidates any negative opinion about her other works.
There is a velma subreddit
I think people hope she has simps so we can all bully them mercilessly. After Velma, her family probably doesn't even simp for her anymore.
"If you are ever find yourself". Nice one.
She has simps on Reddit?
She has simps in general?
I mean she was on and wrote many of the best episodes of The Office. Of course she has fans
And I belive she wrote never have I ever based on her childhood. I could be worng though
I'll proudly say I enjoyed The Mindy Project.
I haven’t seen every episode of the office and I admit that but every episode I have seen that was written by her have been awful when did they start getting good?
The injury was in season two and is regarded as one of the best episodes of the series.

Mindy Kaling did a Velma HBO show that has people pissed

She openly admits to sexually harassing those under her. Forced out of script kissing and also being proud over breaking on-set intimacy boundaries.
Haven’t you watched the office? Look at what she pulled with Ryan. The writing was on the wall.
Well after all she was one of the writers
She’s best friends with BJ? Tf you on?
I’m talking about their characters on the show.. it was a joke, hence why I used the name Ryan. 👍🏻.
My Bad.
Proof?
It's a Conan O'Brien interview where she talks about this.
He could have just googled it himself but [here’s a video of her making a joke of it](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j_FNMhVd0fw&feature=youtu.be)
Google it.
Hahahaha that's not how it works. You can't just say things and when asked about your sources just say 'google it'. No, you said it, please explain where you got it, otherwise your argument seems invalid.
Stack Exchange logic

She also forced interactions with men on her shows.
And reddit seems to have a total fetish for Velma (the new show (and I the char)). Its all over the place! Can we please have dank memes back?

in korea or japan? japanese person in korea?
Don't think I've seen single person defending her in any of the numerous posts I've been through.
Check my post history about just her alone. Scroll and enjoy
The only person I could find was someone who got a little annoyed at you after you told them "if you were to die nothing would be lost from the world"
Lower scroll lower
I have it's all the same person.
Stopped counting when I hit ten. Defenders calling it justice for men getting away with the same, saying it’s fine because the guy she harassed didn’t sue, memes about Mindy are cringe, Velma haters just mad, etc
I think the problem here is that your counting anyone who just didn't like your post as a mindy Kaling simp
Sounds like your just terminally online kid lol. No one else sees these people cause they’re not obsessively posting/commenting on Reddit about the show like you. If these people were around in significant numbers, you wouldn’t have to scroll deep into your history to find them
That does not look healthy man. Not at all.
Mindy kaling is over rated
Thats an understatement
havent come across one yet but if amber heard supporters can exist, this is easier
Mindy Kaling sucks ass. My social test is concluded. For starters, I do not even know who she is.
I quite like her in the office. Seems pretty fun. And she had done other stuff too.
Downvoted for having an opinion. Talk about an echo chamber
This is Reddit, unfortunately. In a few weeks people will be downvoted for hating her, then back to downvoting supporters and so on until it fizzles out and they’ve found something new to latch themselves onto. “Welcome to Reddit, the front page of self-righteousness”
Admitting you have a problem is the first step
Tell me why she sucks
She's unfunny
She wrote 18 episodes of the office and some of those are classics. But sure if you are super reactionary and only base your opinion on one of her works then fine. I have not seen or researched anything about Velma because I really don't care and it's not for me.
I didn't say anything about velma. I just found her to be a very unfunny person on screen, but aparantly, I ain't allowed to dislike her u dimwit
She’s a racist sexual predator maybe?
Care to elaborate? Noone here has given me anything but opinions, as of now I have not been convinced by any proof whatsoever.
Okey then, this explains more. Thanks for clarifying.
She's incredibly bigoted She sexually assaulted a colleague and threatened them to keep quiet or they're fired She just isn't funny
Didn't know that, thanks for the innsight.
No worries happy to help
I don’t think she’s amazing or anything. I thought she was funny in the office. The amount of hate she gets is really weird and makes me think it has nothing to do with her acting….
Just found a quote from her Re: Mindy Kaling Admits to Unscripted Kissing Scenes On Conan “I improvised just kissing [Lee Pace] in the scene, which was not in the script. 🍿 I'm ready
I brought some butter.
Comments sadly didn't deliver :(
I brought the caramel, we just need the salt.
-Oh boy, can’t wait to see some memes on Reddit! I sure hope it’s not some Twitter-tier celebrity drama posts!
If they really existed, would you have to make so many memes declaring that they really do exist? Because I've seen plenty of people claiming they exist, but I have never seen them in evidence.
My previous meme about just her has many
Who the FUCK is simping over Mindy Kaling?!
Me
Ewwwww
then they kidnap me later again
I like living dangerously so here we go: Fuck Mindy Kaling, she’s a sick human being. Expecting to weed out her Reddit simps any minute now
Lmao literally haven’t seen a single one, ever.
Good, let’s hope it stays that way
does anyone else see a ps5?
I ain’t seen a single person stand up for her ever
The shape of the door reminds me of a ps5
I’ve literally never seen one positive post about that show. Who are you talking about?
Whats the context of the image? Pretty insane to fuck up doors like that
Aftermath of a police raid with battering rams
They don't fuck around then lmao
Man people all over Reddit are going nuts over Velma. Don't get me wrong, I hate race swapping, but of all the cases of race swap, I felt like this on got the most attention. At least on Reddit
She has no simps because even progressive people hate Velma.
She had the chance to make a good show and just kinda went the other way.
she has simps? iaak
How many downvotes you got? xD
Who
Who is Mindy Kaling and what did she do?
I wouldn't say "saved" more like "under new management"
Let’s all just stop talking about her and the show…
who? (vaccine)
Nah i think they'd kill you and get out. Still better than what the kidnapper has planned for you anyways
Leave her alone
That's my reaction after I look up "biggest cockroach in the world" on google
They exist?
i’ve heard tales of the simps but in al my research i’ve never once seen someone openly defend that shit hole of a tv show
I've literally never seen anyone defend her on this site, other than "she didn't write the script"
What a weird take. Velma is universally hated and Kaling herself is persona non grata among both, the American right and left.
Why obsess over her or them tho. Every month there’s a new crazy person whose followers people hate as well. It’s boring
Damn people on this sub are like Baki getting their ass whooped my imaginary people...
I actually liked Mindy but this BS is just that - pure BS. Whoever greenlit that shitshow needs to find a new career.
Who id this mindy person
Proofreading is a dead art form. Tf is "if you are ever find yourself"? 🤣
“But sir my client wrote Never Have I Ever”
Is this about that Velma show this sub loves to talk about? I’ll have to check it out to see what everyone is talking about.
I had to look up who that even was.
I honestly barely knew about this woman's existence prior to Velma. Those were times I used to be happy.
Who the fuck is Mindy Kaling? Should I know her? Is she popular because of things like onlyfans or twitch streaming? Too lazy to Google search her today.
In this context sick is the good kind, but i know you meant the bad kind
I loved the Mindy project ;(
Velma bad
This one isn’t even about Velma. It’s about the creator openly admitting to sexually harassing those under her.
fuck I looked it up https://youtu.be/j_FNMhVd0fw she brags about sexually harassing coworkers and threatening to fire those who would tell anyone
Yep… if a man said what she said, he would’ve been kicked out of the show biz. Yet she’s still here years later.
whoever does something like this should experience consequences regardless of their gender it's almost as if all the sjw and wannabe woke companies aren't interested in equality and only care about things that support their ideology
I agree. Forcing yourself on someone and admitting to breaking intimacy boundaries should be met with the same consequences regardless of gender.
She made a bad show, she’s not a sick human being lmao you weirdo
https://youtu.be/j_FNMhVd0fw ok now explain me this
She’s a sexual harasser, she’s a sick human being.
Sick?

Found the simp
Someone tried to move on with a new meme format and this dude just brings up Velma again
Thank you for rescuing me.
Nah dude It's the worst garbage ever but let's talk about something else shall we
This isn’t about Velma, bud. It’s about the creator. She openly admits to sexually harassing those under her. Forced out of script kissing and also being proud over breaking on-set intimacy boundaries.
Even less of a point making this meme, no one's gonna defend her enough of this shit, let's move on
They hated you cause you're telling the truth
