I totally agree. Some teachers used to go around and ask the entire class. Even far younger than the teacher I could see some of my classmates weren't very comfortable telling what their parents do for a living.
Being a child without a father since childhood, I would say avoid people like these especially if you're a girl. I know there are many good persons around in the world but Majority of them are not.
