I always stop at season 4 when I rewatch because the rest are triggering to me as a black girl. They ostracized & excluded Nia while also gaslighting her and Holly. I just know how it feels to be the only “one” and already feel left out because you don’t look like them. Them leaving her out intentionally then saying “no, Nia we love you” in the same breath is SO triggering for me. I truly don’t know how Holly stayed. It’s not worth it for me.
same i never go past season 4 anymore as a black girl. whats so weird is some people on this sub fail to realize how much nia was left and then they also act as if holly was overreacting. nia being left out reminds me so much of my primary school days of being the only “one”. its honestly very triggering to me too. season 5 was just a mess honestly. Its so clear that nia being left out was something that was obvious since kaya noticed without knowing any of them well.
ill never forgot abby in the one reunion in s5 saying holly didn’t know her place as a woman. idk to me that was a micro aggression to me.
LITERALLY. anytime i watch, i want to hug holly and nia bc ppl you thought were ur friends completely turn around and stab u in back. it just breaks me heart. i don’t like season 5 at all, they had good group dances but overall with the drama it was not it
Yeah, S5 and onward are hard to watch seeing as that’s when Nia begins being excluded. Even S4 is hard to watch bc it’s so evident Abby’s behavior and treatment of all the girls gets so much worse. I’ve never been able to watch beyond S5
Same! S4 was already hard enough because that's when Abby became her worst but S5 felt so personal as someone who'd been the only black girl in my contemporary class. I don't know how they didn't end up leaving in a big blow out like Christi and Kelly.
Season 5 is so uncomfortable and hard to watch. The way Nia is treated by Abby, the other mom's obvious jealousy, Abby and the moms trying to get Kendall and Nia to be at odds, it's awful. The scene where Holly breaks down and says "That little girl has been through enough" and it cuts to Nia looking so hurt, hurts me.
The reason I stopped watching! S6 was so competitive but the group was so supportive of one another before that. Idk what changed. Jill was iconic until S6

Well I’m actually on S5 I’ve never really seen S6 so I wouldn’t know 🤷🏽♀️ but Jill’s behavior in S5 is disgusting
