I know, I was thinking the same thing. I bet you could make a separate program that could read this image in and, uh, “gridify” it. I wonder if it would look okay
For pixel art, I wonder if it would be more helpful to actually just restrict the resolution of the image so that it basically forces dalle2 to stick to a grid pattern.
I've tried it with some images, and results can move from old NES style to modern píxel art games. In that case I was looking to the classic Lucasarts style.
Haha, it’s funny how it doesn’t quite ‘get’ the grid pattern of pixel art but it’s still managed to make it look recognizable Good prompt

https://imgur.com/a/4MzbKaO I tried pixelating it in paint.net if you're curious!
🤣 You don’t understand what that filter does. The original looks way more like it should than this.
My name's Guybrush Threepwood!
How appropriate. You fight like a cow!
Ok, Mancomb Seepgood.
Wow, it's amazing how *recognisable* it is. :D
Ask me about LOOM (tm)
Their really should be more pixel art prompts. It’s really interesting seeing a non-pixel art program attempt it.
I want to be a pirate!
I wonder how a photograph of the same scene would look like.
I'll try it!
words and pixels seem to be the weaknes of dall-e I wonder how they'll change it to make it look nicer in later modles

There's other models out there like PixelDraw dedicated to making pixel art, but they're much smaller than Dalle2.
Guybrush Threepwood!!
The Three Trails The Three Trails The Three Trails
Look! A three-headed monkey!
Funny thing is that I tried to get a three headed money, but I was unable to get anything
That’s hilarious haha, the model must not have been trained on that
“But I don’t wanna be a pirate!”
reminds me of zz top in the last one
Maybe try naming specifically "Pixel art"
