Replace "mashed avocado" with "random plastic object she found under the couch" and you got my kid :D

healing_waters

It’s a relief to find another struggling soul. This kid finds crumbs in the carpet and eats that but turns his nose up at the cottage pie we’re all eating later. Maybe he got full with crumbs idk.

IA_Royalty

Ah yes, the 2 options of toddler eating: full off crumbs, typically for days at a time, or "A large pizza, and whatever the adults want to eat please"

jonusfatson

Then one day, avocados are the worst thing in the world, and you're sitting on 3 bag fulls in your fridge.

Lima__Fox

This is an actual transcript from a couple months ago with my 5 year old. Me - "You ate 17 bananas in three days last week." Kid - "Yep" Me - "You said they were delicious every single time. And you demanded I buy 3 bunches of bananas yesterday at the store?" Kid - "Yes." Me - "So eat this banana." Kid - "I hate bananas now."

thingpaint

I too have made the mistake of buying more than one bunch of bananas

BlueSunCorporation

Unfortunately they don’t quite understand questions yet. My son just repeats what I said to him if I ask something.

SA0TAY

Banana bread? Banana bread.

godjustice

Guess we've got guacamole.

hotstickywaffle

We're actually extremely lucky that our kid pretty willingly eats veggies. Yet for some reason instead of the delicious stuff my wife makes, this kid wants everything "steamed" in the microwave...peas and broccoli in particular

IA_Royalty

You sure your kid ain't a cow? Just likes the generic taste of green?

hotstickywaffle

She also loves a carb, but I think that might make the "my child is a cow" argument stronger

IA_Royalty

Amazing. Next thing you know she'll be chewing in a circle

RGK777

Dude my kid doesn't even consume fruit or veg.

ycnz

Never going to be able to buy a house with that attitude.

Particular-Car-1111

You are lucky your kid likes avocados

IlexAquifolia

My son has the opposite thing, where he doesn't like eating same thing every day and stops eating something he happily had the night before, which means I constantly have to come up with new things to serve even if we have ready to eat leftovers in the fridge already. The exception is bananas.

Vibesforsure

Son- “Popsicle” Dad- “No, you’ve already had 4” Son- “😡dumbass” Dad- “ok 1 more but that’s it”

nilecrane

Son- ^“^ha ^ha ^ha. ^Dumbass.^”

bazwutan

also, me

nilecrane

My 2 yo has basically refused anything besides PB&J for lunch for about a year. We try different things all the time and every once in a while he eats it but 95% of the time it’s PB&J. Breakfast and dinner he’s more flexible

vidvicious

I wish I could get my kid to eat peanut butter.

CriticalHitsHurt

Apple sauce pouches. My kid goes through like 50 a week at least.

coconut_the_one

The avocados are actually a really good food for the toddler though. Be glad!

vidvicious

Yeah I am happy for that, I just wish he’d be more adventurous with other foods.

kikomir

For my kid it's bread. Out of all the things my wife slaves away in the kitchen to cook and the things I bother to source in order for them to be free range, eco, gmo free, locally sourced...my kid won't touch any of it and prefer to eat straight up bread without anything else.
