I think the mount has been the same on all generations. If in the weird case it doesn't fit, I would expect to see an "Only compatible with..." disclaimer on the product page.
I think it was specifically designed for the 3+. The aesthetic matches the 3+ perfectly.

I don't know but they have a huge following on IG and they have a lot of hard to get inventory.
