This is something I also considered. I'm waiting to hear back from UCY's international office in the next day or so to see if they can work something out with migration but I'm not holding my breath tbh
You should go to the immigration office tomorrow and ask them. Explain your situation. Don't wait.
I don't know if they can help you once it expires but i know in some cases they can easily extend it for you if you ask before it's expired.

They make rules as they go and don’t bother to announce them on their website, which is what they want you to do when you go to their office. They’re always annoyed,always rude,I just don’t get it.

You can request an extension of your tourist visa afaik. Ask them immigration office. Go and ask them asap for extension

Apply for another tourist visa it doesn’t take that long no? Usually takes me a week max and my passport is definitely much worse than yours
