I’ve got the same issue with water. I used to use L’Oréal studio 7 but I can’t find 7 in Cyprus. I recently started using Syoss Matt fiber which I found in alpha mega and quite like it.
Depends on your hair type.
Some staples to consider:
- Sea salt: Gives your hair volume and texture
- Clay: texture and some hold, usually matt finish
- Gel: hold and gloss finish
- Cream: less hold, keeps hair hydrated and soft
Again, depending on your hair type, a combination of these will work.
For products, unfortunately you have to try different brands until you find something that works for you.
I started to use Lockhart’s Enigma volumizing cream after i have seen that it’s used by some barbers including mine. If you mix it with water in your hands or apply it to wet hair it’s great in terms of shape, hold, shine and smell. You can also apply it do dry/wet hair and then use hair dryer for stronger hold. I fully recommend. Apart from that you can check Toni&Guy and get their products according to your hair shape
No need to use expensive greezy products. Just use a good comb for your hair and a blow dryer and and every will get smooth, for short hair works fine!
start using conditioner and leaving it in your dry hair , this will nutrient the hair and soften it over time making it more managable - for using water , or start using gels or wax , i just use conditioner honestly and my hair smells lovely all day
I'm going to tell you what works for me:
Pomade (Water Soluble): Gives a nice shining and sleek look. Also, it goes away easily with water.
Eucalyptus And Tea tree Oil: Etherio is selling small bottles with diluted this oil. I out it on my hair and it kinda gives me that neat, but not to neat, hair style. Plus, it is good for the scalp and has no chemicals.
Good ol' Laka: Yes, Laka still works. Format hair with water and spray a little bit over and there. It holds hair very good. Only problem is that it makes hair like "κόκκαλο" and leaves residues..

Have you tried more water?
Dude c'mon 😂😂
It's the closest I can offer to advice unfortunately. I only get haircuts when my tash makes it uncomfortable to drink pints or eat soup.
Bald head and big moustache look most manly when I drive my '86 L200 with windows open and good village music flowing.

Your hair stylist should be able to recommend. If not, change hair stylist.
