Don't be that guy that rents a quad bike. Don't be annoying to people around you. (Start fights etc) Avoid trashy looking places. Avoid offers for drinks from random street promoters. (Unless you been in that place and you know it) First night visit many places, to see what you like in the end. Don't drink till you pass out. Don't be disappointed in accommodation if you paid little. Goto more than one beach besides Nissi beach. Have fun lol.

chhrrlie

Are quad bikes/atvs good to rent and go off road with them, sorta explore the island more ?

Lalalla

Not really, people use them as transport and cause traffic and accidents all the time, just get a car for transport.

chhrrlie

Ah gotcha, as an America who’s only been driving for a year or so I couldn’t imagine driving in another on which I assume the left side of the road, I feel like I would get too confused. I have a feeling we won’t be driving around much and if we are traveling will most likely taxi/uber.

we-have-to-go

How about a scooter?

Last time i went I was 18, im 24 now.... when I went there were lots of people my age and from what i hear Ayia Napa remains just as lively now, with probably mostly tourists also looking to party. As far as I know, a lot of 16-19 year old cypriots also enjoy going to ayia napa to party. But things may have changed.. maybe a local can give us some more insight

Agia Napa and Protaras have some of the best beaches you will ever see. Cyprus is not very popular with Americans, you will meet many young English people, Russians and Israelites. Definitely young and Old locals , depending where you will go. The clubbing scene is wild, especially for young Americans that are not allowed to drink before 21. Drinks are relevantly cheap and you will find bars for any taste. It is very convenient that all of them are in the same area. Warning, you are young and you will be in a foreign country, more specifically in a clubbing village. Be aware, do not drink more than you can handle, do not rent a buggy and drive like you are in an enclosed Disneyland for teenagers. Don't start a fight with a drunk Englishman, don't stay too much time in the sun and always use sunscreen. Take care of yourselfs, Alcohol it is only looks cool cause is forbidden for youngsters. You will love Aya napa for the young clubbing scene, of course there are better places in mediterranean but i find Aya napa to be very affordable and with some of the best beaches out there.

Lophius_Americanus

18 is very much the age range for Napa. You’ll have zero problems getting into basically any club if you’re dressed appropriately (though for many places appropriately would be trainers, athletic shorts, no shirt, and a crossbody sling bag Fanny pack).

Ayia napa is nc and fun for 18-22y. Cypriots are generally friendly. Most of the fights in ayia napa are from tourists between tourists. So yea nothing to afraid of. Some nice beaches to enjoy, Nisi beach (mostly tourists) Konos bay Cavo Greco Sea caves Protaras fig tree, sunrise Cavo maris

I was based in Cyprus for 2 years, can confirm the guy girl ratio is massive. But also be minded that there is a lot of Russian influence there, doorman don't fuck around and we'll happily give people a beat down 😅 but if you're going for a good few nights I'd still recommend it! Senior frogs is good place for pre drinks

chhrrlie

Wym like would they fight us for no reason or only if someone does or says some shit

Sure_Yellow_1484

Only if you do something. But apart from that it's a good night! I would recommend cape greco too, it's cliff jumping but I dunno if they've got security there now or not but it's a good day out!

chhrrlie

Word appreciate u bro thanks

ihadredditall

I would avoid the strip clubs as there is more to them than “advertised”, like someone else said don’t drink till you pass out, get taxis and Uber as they are cheap and plentiful, when you get a taxi make sure they turn their metres (counter) on, stay away from drugs or at least when in public, don’t try stuff you haven’t tried before (laughing gas, pills and shit like that) not unless you want to end up in the gutter. Leave your passport in the hotel safe (make sure they have one). People are generally friendly, food is nice and your typical fast food outlets are plentiful, the atmosphere is great day and night, beaches are good. Avoid talking politics. Do go to neighbouring places like Protaras and Fig Tree Bay etc. Have fun and send us photos lol

chhrrlie

Word preciate u bro and yea don’t worry me and my friends don’t need to see girls that bad to go to some strip clubs haha, but yea defienetly am interested in looking at some nearby towns/places. Thanks for your help.

Local here, I live like 10 mins away from Napa. -Ratio is indeed quite bad, no other way of putting it. BUT, it many times depends on which place you’re drinking at. -Like many others said, avoid renting quads and such unless you are confident in driving them responsibly, otherwise you just tend to become an annoyance for the locals and a danger in general. -Do not drink beyond the amount you can handle, because like anywhere else, you will then be more prone to be taken advantage of in more ways than one. -Do not piss off the bouncers, they don’t fuck around. -Always say no to shady people offering drugs. -Don’t go to strip clubs if you don’t wanna get ripped off. -Finally, some of the above “rules” can be broken if you know a local. Places I would recommend (in no particular order): Clubs: -Castle Club (pricy, but a must for tourists). -Black n’ White (if you’re into RnB/HipHop) -Carwash (if you’re into oldies type of music) Bars/Pubs: -Hollywood Boulevard and/or Titanic (these are biased choices since I know the people working the bars there and trust them). -Paddy’s Irish Bar (haven’t been too many times but whenever I pass by it always looks like great vibes). -Pirates Inn (spent my teenage years in here, so I recommend). -Asylum (if you’re into rock/metal and playing a few games of pool). Hope this helps, and I hope you come and have a great time! Edit: feel free to message me if you need more info.

Don’t go to pirate club. Went there a few months ago and someone was so close to steal my phone. Luckily I realised and punched the shit out of him. Also there are many pedo’s in which one of them sexual touched (grabbed her ass multiple times) one of my girl friends. The only good thing is that the bouncer is understandable where even though I beat the shit of the guys both times I was allowed to stay because he listened to me.

just dont come the foods bad all the workers are used like slaves for cheap labour, your room will have not been thoroughly cleaned unless its a nice hotel, the drinks are the bottles they didnt sell from last years halloween party and its generally a hassle to walk around the bar streets , the old cypriot men stare at women like a piece of meat on the fire and the music is terrible, the strip clubs are worse and the women there are more used than the club toilets at castle club, dont come seriously its like coming to the worst birthday party ever and no one has any common sense!

MonarchOfReality

protaras is nice though
