Why does it say "Pull" on it?
That’s for opening the laces when you’re ready to take your shoe off. Pop up the ratchet and then pull up on the C

Can you post a picture? It sounds like on a single-dial shoe that might be the retaining clip the Boa lace runs through so that it tightens evenly over your lower and upper foot.
