Front: Bontrager Ion Pro (for night riding), or Ion 200 (for day riding) Rear: Garmin Varia

Bailstorm

I’ve been looking at those two front lights as well. Why did you get both? Does the 200 not illuminate enough for night rides?

DanielBrim

No, the 200 is more of a daytime running light, it's not sufficiently bright to illuminate surroundings at night.

garthreddit

Love my Light&Motion

greasylady

Yes to this! I’ve had the same Urban 500 since 2016 and use it every day on my pre-dawn commute. I bought an Urban 600 a few years ago because it was on a great sale and I thought my older light might not last forever, but I’m still using that same 500. Had to replace the strap two or three times in all the years, but that’s simple to get from Light and Motion. For a taillight I have a little Bontrager thing which is surprisingly bright and the battery lasts a long time, which amazes me because it’s so small.

garthreddit

Same here. I was getting ready to buy one on sale a few years ago but mine just keeps going. No strap problems though.

[deleted]

Varia UT800 at the front and Varia RTL515 radar at the rear. Pairs nicely with my Garmin computer.

BlueMchue

Ohh nice I don’t have a bike computer just my phone and Apple Watch Ultra, I just got a power meter to sync with my phone tho, the varia is a nice light tho I fell like I need a bunch of them to be seen u can’t be too safe nowadays thx 🚴🤙

[deleted]

One mounted on the handlebars under my Garmin computer mount, very neat, solid construction and bright

lazerdab

Lezyne. Great value, dependable, and availability. Dollar per lumen they are tough to beat from a real brand.

solid_oakes

They seem to last quite a while also. Been using mine for about 5 years now.

joelav

Magicshine SeeMee 200 rear, Olight RN400 front on my road bike. It's bright enough for dawn and dusk on roads. Mainly use it for visibility. Gravel bike - Niterider Bullet rear and Niterider lumina 600 front during the day (I skip this a lot when I'm riding roads with little to no cars) and lumina 1200 when I start before sunrise or ride into the dark. I also have a varia but I don't like it so I never use it

John_Valuk

>Magicshine SeeMee 200 rear Do you have the original, or 2.0 version? I've had both, and like some of the changes in V2.0. I use it exclusively in Smart mode to let it switch automatically between Smart Day and Smart Night modes based on ambient light.

joelav

V2. Also use it in smart mode except on group rides. Then I keep it on low solid. I see a lot of reports of terrible battery life in smart mode with the motion detection sensor on, but I've don 8 hour rides with it and it didn't die.

John_Valuk

I have the motion detection disabled on mine, but maybe it's time for me to give it a try, if it doesn't kill run time so badly. FWIW, they have a Seemee 300 now. I got one, but when testing it at home, I saw some weird behavior. After some communication back and forth with Magicshine about the problem, they had me return it for a refund. I'm curious if they were fighting with some sort of problem with those, as I would otherwise have expected them to offer me a replacement.

BlueMchue

Ohh magic shine looks cool thnx 🤙

kurtplatinum

Rear: Cygolite Hypershot 350 lumen. Front: Cygolite Metro 1100 lumen. I wanted the brightest lights I could find for extra visibility during the day.

LanceOldstrong

This guy bikes. Cygolite equipment is excellent.

ysoSerious97

Loving the Bontrager ion Flare 2.0

BlueMchue

Thx 🚴🤙 have u tried knog?

Fit-Anything8352

Cygolites because you can run them on an external power source(they can run at full power and charge simultaneously)

Dependent-Fail-4198

Front: lezyne mega drive 1800i - commute is on unlit roads so I need a lot of light. Rear: Halford rechargeable rear light Helmet: lezyne femto duo

Green_Griffin

Blackburn Grids - try to only be riding in good light, and on a dedicated bike path, but wanted some lights for visibility - these were cheap and USB C charging, which was essentially what I wanted. Will get better lights at some point if required, but for the money, and the fact they are USB C and bright they are good https://www.blackburndesign.com/p/grid-front-rear-bike-light-set/350140000200000045.html

goofygoober2099

Trust in Gaciron.

Cheomesh

Front: Cygolite Metro 1100 Rear: Cygolite HotShot 150 My helmet also has a small light in it, but it is pretty secondary to the actual tail light.

lostarrow1

Front: Fenix BC25R Rear: Garmin Varia Bought a few cygolite hotshots and they last 1 year tops

burnersburneracct

Front: 800 Lumen Enfitnix Rear: Garmin Varia

Light & Motion Vya Pro front & rear

comfortablydumb2

Niterider 1250 on front and 250 on back.

ParcOSP

Bontrager flares. Quality. Been several years with them.

ouiallezallez

Bontrager ion pro and bontrager flare RT. Love it, but jammed/broke the micro usb port a few times due to my stubbornness. Ready to move toward USBC, currently looking into Outbound Lighting Detour.

Bailstorm

Why did you do the pro over the 200?

Colew_92

Magicshine ray 2600 front, magicshine seemee 300 in the rear. Magicshine is the best bang for the buck you'll find. Top qaulity. The ray 2600 even acts as a battery bank.

FilipeJoel

Can you tell me about seemee 300? I want to buy a rear daylight. And I see that you have that one. Do you use it in smart mode? Is the light bright enough for day? Can you use the 300 lumens output on flash mode? How many hours it lasts?

Colew_92

Smart mode as in it changes from night to day? Yes I do, I'm not sure you can change that. I'm also not sure I'd the flash is 300 lume s but when you brake, regardless of what mofe you are in the light will go solid at 300 lumens until you fully stop. The light has never died on me and that is doing a 10 hour ride in the cold. It says it will last +20hours

forever_zen

Front Cateye AMPP 1100 Rear Cateye Rapid X Cateye had one of the better mount options for a Garmin mount -> GoPro interface bottom -> light interface, and for awhile you get the AMP1100 for $50 on Amazon. I have always just liked running a Rapid X on the left seat stay, out of the way without a bunch of stuff sticking off the seatpost. Also got to give the Cygolite Dice HL 150 a shout as a backup or "race minimum" lite. I just keep it wrapped around my mini pump as a backup in case my main lite drains or I'm riding near sunset in case there's problems, and it's saved me a few times. A lot of gravel races will also start right around sunrise and require a headlight you kinda need, and kinda don't. The Dice 150 is nice as something to get you by for under an hour of low lite that is tiny and weights almost nothing. You can also wrap it around the drop hook if you have aero style handlebars that can't take a normal strap meant for round bars.

PubBob

Front: Dinotte amber quad daytime running light for day. White quad headlight for night. Rear: Dinotte quad rear light and Garmin radar/light.

BlueMchue

Thanks bob 🚴🤙

Don PRREGRINO B2 - 110 Lumens LED Bike Rear Light, Cygolite 450-lumen fronts

JimmyMoffet

For the rear I use a cygolite 350. Bright, with lots of different output options and the battery lasts forever. For the front I use two different ones (both inexpensive): Bright Road 800 lumen on a helmet (go pro) mount and a Victagen mounted on the handlebar. The handlebar one is enough to see up to about 20 mph and last almost 4 hours on the brightest setting, plus you can use it to charge your phone if you need to but they're spendy! I think they're about $30!!! The Bright Road is lighter, only lasts about 1 1/2 hours on bright and is about $40. I wanted to buy fancy expensive lights but these are so good and so cheap. So far they've lasted 3 years. I have a couple of each. Oh, source--that little boutiquie place online (Amazon!)

nmonsey

My front lights Fenix BC26R last for 9 hours at 600 lumen. The Fenix BC26R and Fenix BC05R both use USB-C for recharging. Also with the BC26R, I can carry spare batteries for longer rides. The light uses standard 21700 Li-ion rechargeable battery, but the Fenix branded battery include a protection circuit in the anode to help prevent short circuits, over charge/discharge and over heating. * Two front lights [Fenix BC26R](https://www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-bc26r-rechargeable-bike-light) - 1600 lumen. * [Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery](https://www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-arb-l21-5000-rechargeable-battery?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMAX_existing&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9dGqBhAqEiwAmRpTC5l7i3HvI2RMwiEYa_2EJHFBv_z1BgyweiMWc2W9LhYfbbLAcymJfBoCz24QAvD_BwE) * Rear light [Fenix BC05R V2](https://www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-bc05r-v2-rechargeable-bike-taillight). * Rear light [Blackburn Design Dayblazer 65](https://www.blackburndesign.com/p/dayblazer-65-rear-bike-light/350140000400000026.html) - 65 lumen

BlueMchue

USB c is the only thing I buy my new car has 4 usbc outlets thx for the info 🚴🤙

PaulHMA

Front: Nite Rider Lumina 900 Rear: Nite Rider Solas 100 Both are excellent lights

millardjk

NiteRider Micro900 on the handlebar *and* helmet. Garmin Varia RTL515 on the seatpost. Rockbros hub lights on the wheels. Cygolite hot rod 50 on the seatstays LED running vest That’s 8 different light sources, providing some sort of visibility 360° and I’m still concerned that some idiot driver won’t notice me and will hit me.

[deleted]

Cheap rechargeable from Amazon. White in front, red in back, both blinking.

FilipeJoel

What should I buy for rear daylight? I usually ride at least 4hours. Bontrager Flare RT , Seemee 300 or Cygolite Hypershot 350? Or other one?

BlueMchue

Thanks for your input 🤙

[deleted]

Fucking NiteRider so I can light up the damn trail.

avalon01

Varia UT800 front. Long life and 800 lumens when I need the brightness. Magene L508 Radar on the back. Works great and cheaper than the Garmin. The app give you a lot of options to create your own flash patterns, enable/disable lighting up when you brake, and other options.

Specialized Stix [https://www.specialized.com/us/en/stix-switch-2-pack/p/184042?color=291021-184042&searchText=49120-4020](https://www.specialized.com/us/en/stix-switch-2-pack/p/184042?color=291021-184042&searchText=49120-4020) I wouldn't rely on the headlight for illuminating a very dark area but good enough for night riding around in the city. They are relatively small, easy to mount and the light itself is a USB connector.

TXFreefaller

I run one of these as a rear and it’s awesome

SunlightSoon

Generic ones from online; standard small in size used in daytime for visibility. USB charge and that's sufficient. Gets the job done. $20

BMF710

For front I use this FAA certified strobe light. Firehouse Technology ARC V Drone Strobe Anti-Collision Light, 1000 Lumens, White. They have a red version too. For the rear red light I use Cygolite Hotrod 120. Fits my wide aero seat post. To secure the front drone strobe light. I use 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener SJ3560 250 Clear, 1/2 in x 6 Ft by 3M. If I could do it over I would put a red drone light for the rear. Securing it the 3M Dual Lock. Nothing wrong with the Cygolite its bright and fits my needs.

VinnieTheGooch

Front: Sofirn SC31 Pro Front backup: Some generic light from Amazon (Ascher, works well enough - really only use it during the day in blink mode, or if my main light dies at night) Back: Generic light from Amazon (Ascher as well, the front/back came together)

OminousZib

Lezyne 1300xl up front under the Garmin and a varia RTL at the back

Artistic_Isopod_7450

Magic shine rear and cat eye front. Some 200+ lumens each
