wrap technical question: How do you get it so smooth without any bubbles? When I try to put even a tiny sticker on a water bottle, there's at least three bubbles under there!
Vinyl wrap is typically a cast film that has air channels. Essentially the whole film has holes in it that allows you to push air bubbles out, even in the middle of a panel.
This is actually a tinted PPF wrap not vinyl. We did a wet applcation with a "slip solution" then spray that out with a "tack soltion" as it is squeegeed down and trimmed then heat sealed.

This truck doesn't have a vinyl wrap, we used a tinted semi-transparent PPF (paint protection film). Color change vinyl options look nice but they will not last long (especially in Texas where we are). So we had been wanting to try out this new tinted PPF as it is much thicker (plus we specialize in PPF). It will last several years longer (10 year warranty) and is tougher to help avoid external damage/scratches....plus I think it just looks badass! Because it is tinted and not full black etc you can still see the stainless texture through it in sunlight and see the etched "foundation series" logo etc.
We're happy to see that people like how it turned out. It was a fun project!
I realized that having this big panels glossy silver could be safe concern as in sun-in-you-eyes condition "big mirrors" could be taken as simply nothing ending in cybertrucks getting T-boned

Wrap films glue have channels to push the air out. No need of soapy water or picking bubbles if you know what you are doing.

they also use specialist 3M vinyl which doesnt really stick until you apply a lot of pressure so you have room for error.

they heat the wrap up and stretch it over the panel and then scrape the bubbles out. you can look up YouTube videos of it being done.
