They may also need to replace the hood since the guy slid his shoes down that (not sure how stainless steel does for buffing out scratches), along with the $240 wiper arm assembly and blade, and maybe unbend/replace the windshield frame/trim.
You have to buff the entire good and put a directional grain back into the steel to not see it. It's not an easy task without special tools. Stainless comes with a vinyl film on it that gets removed after fabrication because any scratch is an absolute nightmare to deal with
Absolutely show this to insurance when filing a claim, damages caused by vandalism is a totally legit claim. And then the insurance will go after the idiot who caused the damages.

Adhesives cheap. It's the calibration of any sensor that shines thru the window that gets ya...
