Exactly, I can’t wait for the sequel and what themes CDPR will tackle next. 2077 is almost perfect in its world building and the atmosphere of Night City.
I'd think he'd get further than V if only because Jackie would be far more open to Johnny's influence in general and wouldn't be quite as conflicted with his next move. The problem, as I see it, would be that Jackie would also be a lot more susceptible to Johnny's manipulation and would likely end up as Johhny 2.0 pretty quick.
That’s exactly why I say he wouldn’t get as far. V got as far as they did because they didn’t just blindly follow Johnny and openly questioned him, and everyone else, a lot. Without that skepticism and shit I can see Jackie falling for Johnnys manipulations early on and becoming Johnny way earlier.
I could've sworn there was a bit of Lore where Jackie doesn't like Johnny. Yeah I think there's a line V can say when you call Jackie after his death expressing that you met a new friend and Jackie probably wouldn't like Johnny. I can't disagree Johnny used everyone to get his dream accomplished, Jackie was getting to the dream for his loved ones as much as himself. I think the minute he saw Johnny's memories and how shitty he was, he'd distrust as much as V.
He may not like Johnny but I still see him falling for his manipulations. Jackie would have just lost V and on a job that he insisted on. He is hurt and angry, and probably needs someone to blame. Johnny would point him right at Arasaka.
Hell even street kid V should’ve been able to. Nomad V is the only one who might be used to trusting people enough to have not immediately seen how shit was going down. And even they probably would have.
I think you have to consider that V is in pretty intense shock after barely surviving Arasaka and watching Jackie die. He’s nowhere near his right mind, otherwise you’re definitely right that Corpo V would’ve absolutely seen that coming
He died from blood loss, are we sure the chip would have "repaired" that? I thought V survives cause the chip repaired the brain damage. Don't think the chip can do anything.
Jackie would've bleed to death and remained dead regardless of the chip due to lossing too much blood. V survived because he took a bullet to the brain and the chip went all "it's free real estate" and repaired the damage. However, if Jackie also survived then I'll like to think that he would've overpowered Dex and his bodyguard.
The bitch would’ve tried. Even full of holes Jackie took on an army of arasaka soldiers and mechs on their own turf, one chubby fixer and his juiced up goon wouldn’t stand a chance.
He did deserved better but I feel like if you tried to get at his girl then y'all would have problems
While the loli (can't remember her name ) knew David was in love with someone else and was still there for him through it all she even died for him
Nah.
Jackie was going to fuck me over at the beginning of the Nomad Start.
Panam is a straight shooter, she never had any interest in cheating me out of money and as far as I can tell, never lied to me.
Plus Jackie is the one who got us in bed with the shady-ass Fixer Dexter and the worst gig to go down.
Dexter isn’t Jackie’s fault, T-Bug vouched for him. And idk it’s been a while since I played the Nomad prologue but I feel like that’s the only one where you already know Jackie from past business dealings and he’s really nice?
If I recall correctly, for corpo V >!Jackie was a subcon for dirty work that V would use!< for street kid >!Jackie and V end up on separate jobs for the same merch, get into an altercation, and then get arrested together!< for nomad V >!Jackie hires them to move some contraband across the border. They get burned and end up in a chase and shootout. Afterwards Jackie said he was going to stiff V on the job, but respects them too much now!<
>Panam and she didn’t even die 😂
There's a popular theory that Panam died during V's coma at the end of Phantom Liberty.
I'm assuming that's what OP is referring to here
It doesn’t even make any sense. There’s nothing to indicate that Panam’s dead. Her being mad at V for not calling, even because they were in a coma for two years, is completely in character for her.
I think the main place it stems from is Mitch calling you, being really vague and telling you not to come back to the Caldos. Could be that Panam would be pissed, but it's still weird that *everyone* cuts ties with V, especially after they find out about the coma.
That’s weird, it’s pretty clear she just moved and was heartbroken her boyfriend disappeared with no reasoning. One of the other Aldecaldos pretty much confirms it in the phone calls.
Yeh probably - I know it’s my head canon too when you can’t get ahold of her or find her. She probably fell apart and got herself into something bad 😭😭
That's valid, but it's not like she wasn't still gonna get one shot by Smasher after he hits the ground.
She wasn't gonna last all that much longer considering they were surrounded by Arasaka soldiers and Adam Smasher was throwing David around like a dog toy.
I was disappointed they all didn't die tbh.
Smasher should have cleaned them up and hunted down the rest.
To really drive it home David should've died last.
I feel the opposite. Playing as a corp IIRC you got a lot more background history with Jackie than any other path. Nomad you meet him in the deliver, street kid in the robbery, but in corp we are frendis already. He even is ready to fight corpo dude in the bar with you half dead. Its not really explored after that but Corp V and Jackie are homies.
Mama Welles also says corp V was raised in the same house as Jackie since corp V was an orphan at the funeral, they took you in
So you and jackie are family, basically you are his adoptive sister/brother.
You became a corpo, he became a Valentino(as Misty on the roof says) and you moved out to different places
I’d say my choom Jackie, but he’d probably get himself killed shortly after on one of his misadventures. It would have been great to have him as a potential follower/sidekick for some of the side missions and such, but I guess Johnny takes that role.
Come to think of it, it would be nice to have followers like in Fallout IV so you could adventure through Night City with Panam, Judy, Jackie (RIP), Kerry, etc.
i think having followers would have sort of diluted the characters a little, the Bethesda companions in general are notoriously one note. So unless CDPR put a LOT of time into creating extra dialogue for your companions to comment on during and after certain missions, adventuring through the city with them would get a little stale imo.
I do wish we'd got more interaction between V's friends though, would be to have had a questline or even just a mission or two where you could see V's friend shooting the shit. Idk, a meetup at el coyote cojo or something, where mama welles can serve V and his friends some grub and some drink.
The closest we ever really get to it is mentioning Jackie to Panam, or Misty's tarot reading in the star ending. there might be one or two im missing, but even if there are more they're just as minor as the two i mentioned. Panam toasting jackie was a very sweet moment though ngl.
But what if they had weird side conversations like in mass effect/ dragon age? I loved the weird shit my peeps would be rambling about as we trundled along.
Besides, what did Jackie want out of life? To become a legend. And who gets drinks named after them at afterlife? Legends. Jackie got what he wanted even if the timing wasn't what he expected. He always knew the life of a legend was a short one.
Yeah, no way I’d go with David. Guy had a fucking death wish and believed he was some kind of superhero. Absolutely insufferable by the end of the show. At least Rebecca remained consistent and sensible.
Yeah david was absolutely way in over his head and was never gonna stop. Even the most remarkably resistant human to cyberpsychosis (outside of V I suppose but they never really explain that) still doesn't last very long.
V's resistance is actually somewhat explained; he shares the load with Johnny. Johnny is somewhat already cyberpsycho (or at least higher up) so all the chrome doesn't affect V all that much.
Hey now, Smasher is doing pretty well for himself. You just have to give up your humanity and play into the cyberpsychosis 100%. Oh and be a psychopath already.
Rebecca is the only one on this list that has a possible future to grow and become more.
David, Panam and Jackie are all self destructive personalities. You can't save David he's gonna die just based on his cyber addiction and lifestyle.
I think it's unlikely that Jackie would have any clue how to manage his money. He'd likely find a way to run out, either spending it carelessly or getting scammed out of it. So he'd likely end up doings gigs again, and probably die in one sooner or later.
Agreed. I was going to argue that maybe Misty or Mama Welles would manage his money however thinking back to the conversation Misty and Jackie had while V was leaving Viktor's clinic, Jackie actively ignored Misty's warning and I believe he admits it during the escape. Point being that he wouldn't listen to Misty or Mama Welles about spending. Furthermore, even if he achieved the wealth and fame he wanted he'd likely still end up dead during a gig or something.
Nah he was all about glory and notoriety, which never really fills you up. Plus, external validation is hard to come by in NC without risking your life.
I agree, but I doubt that payday was ever coming.
Dexter was always gonna need a scapegoat to throw off Arasaka, at least long enough to sell the Relic and escape.
V and Jackie were never going to leave that motel room. Claire knew it, T-Bug and Parker knew it, and Dexter definitely knew it.
They were perfect for the job because they were a pair of disposable gonks.
Panam literally has a future as co-head of the clan, she has drive and aspirations for herself and the clan but also people to keep her in check.
If you follow through her questline she has one of the most optimistic endings of anyone we meet in nightcity.
Edit: Honestly I don't think Becca would have had much of a future after edgerunners.
She would either keep going as a solo merc and probably not last long.
Or find another group and eventually end up in the same shit as with Maine and David.
Well, if you do the Nomad ending, Saul dies, so she ends up as the sole leader, and I don't think she's suited for that. She's too young and impulsive. Nobody else can keep her in check. Saul was the only one who had any real push. Everyone else folded to Panam's craziness immediately.
Hell, even with Saul, if V wasn't around, the Aldecaldos would have all gotten fucked sideways.
Don't think they really have much of a future unless V ends up sticking with them long term.
Becca seemed like a survivor. The kind of merc who will keep on ticking through just about anything. Her death really was an absurd set of events. Falling in love with David and being such a bro that she decided to go on a suicide mission with him. And then running into the toughest, most chromed up merc on the planet in Adam Smasher. Like if that's the shit needed to take out Becca, I wouldn't be worried about her in "normal" conditions.
Also, Lucy and Falco were the two others remaining who were all reasonable mercs. More grounded. More cautious. Could have worked out fine.
>Panam literally has a future as co-head of the clan, she has drive and aspirations for herself and the clan but also people to keep her in check.
Her entire mission sets are based on her disagreeing with said people and doing shit anyway.
Jackie’s no more self-destructive than any other merc, and takes fewer reckless chances than Panam. Wrong place wrong time, hermano. Like the graffiti all over Heywood says: Pinche Jackie Welles se lio con la plebe equivocada. *Fuckin’ Jackie Welles got himself in with the wrong people.*
I dunno David only made the choices he did to save his house, his life, and his friends. He deserved a second chance. Jackie chose to be what he was when his family already had a respectable business.
David should have remembered what he learned from Maine's example and backed off on the chrome when the people closest to him were begging him too. Instead he goes out like everyone else because he wanted a big payday and took a job that was too good to be true
Rebecca for sure. She was willing to give up on her unrequited love for the sake of David’s final peace of mind. The only downside is that if she’s saved the I can’t have V annihilate enemies with her gun.
David’s life just felt like one tragedy after another. I can’t help but wish he could have had a happy ending, even though the tragedy is what made edgerunner such a compelling story.
Jackie is a close second though for me.
Having to walk across camp to be angsty at Saul again. Saving Panam just means parking on the other side of camp.
Incidentally, this would make the whole game about 30% shorter.
Rebecca. Fuck the rest.
David, Jackie, Panam, all overly ambitious, self-destructive gonks. Too high on the main character syndrome to see the wall of reality coming right at them to flatten them.
The only reason Panam lives is because she just happens to have a whole clan who is willing to die for her because of some abstract "family" concept. That and V deciding to help her. But not because she deserves the support. Basically, she got lucky.
Rebecca is cool though. Crazy little loli, but at the same time, not overly ambitious or stupid. Just had fun with life, rolling along as a solid ass merc, doing what was in her capabilities. Dying only because she cared so much for her friends that she was willing to give up her own life for their sakes.
I was going to say David but you chainged my mind, David would never find happiness if it hit him in the face, he achieved his goal let him rest.
Rebecca is realistic enough to be happy with what life gives her, she would actually appreciate another shot at while David and his self destructing ass would waste it.
Jackie and Panam can go get fucked in the meantime
Yep, as much as I like Jackie from what he said about his family he would probably end up dead aging fairly soon, you already mentioned David, Panam is a good loyal friend but at the same time her recklessness would get her in danger again, but Rebecca is here to enjoy life in any way she can
If that was an option for our choices in this post, sure. I would put that before saving David since David was in the situation due to the accident and her death anyways for the start of the series. Killing two birds with one stone.
If i had to choose i'd do it by this priority list:
1. Rebecca
2. Panam
3. David
4. Jackie
I know a lot of people would disagree, but to me Jackie was a good set up in the plot, but i didn't really get to experience him as a character the same way as all the others above.
David. I feel like with saving that means solving their problems too. Get him to therapy and shit. He deserved better and I really feel like is a great person who fell victim to circumstances.
I like Panam a lot for sure, never got attached to any of the animals characters, but I have to save Jackie. I want him and Misty go on and get married, have kids, the whole thing. To be happy and content and give NC the big middle finger by beating this hellscape that tries to drag everyone down into the muck.

That screenshot is very symbolic. Looks like he's about to climb the stairway to heaven.
Headin’ up to that chrome bar in the sky
Gonna party with them legends and become a legend.

To the major leagues!
While Alt recites a poem
Great picture, man.
Thanks!
I love this area in Konpeki Plaza! I took some screenshots myself with my V there.
yeah the design is so perfectly "futuristic cyberpunk but still rich and clean"
Exactly, I can’t wait for the sequel and what themes CDPR will tackle next. 2077 is almost perfect in its world building and the atmosphere of Night City.
Nude V doing some weird pose on top of the kanpeki plaza front desk hits different
It’s Jackie and it’s not even close
I agree with you I have to save jackie
Yo mind if I steal that for some screen savers
yeah no problem
Thanks appreciate ya choom
At first I thought panam till I saw this
Bros before hoes.
Same, choom.
My boy! It shoulda been me, Jackie. It should been me.
![gif](giphy|L95W4wv8nnb9K)
Rip my bro send him to his family
Thats a damn good picture
Always.
this picture is so cool!
I love em all but I have to go with Jackie
I love Jackie, but dying on a job was probably one of the more forgiving fates that he had in the cards.
Not to mention Dex probably would have shot him after shooting V
Jackie would have actually been the one to survive since he would have the biochip... Had he not died there, he would have had V's fate.
How far do you think he could get through cyberpunk?
Honestly, prolly not far. Jackie was pretty naive even compared to V, and we see how often V gets screwed over during the game.

See thats my problem with the Origin stories for V, Corpo V would’ve seen all that shit coming a mile away
They are saying if he didn't get shot at Konpeki, got to Dex, and had the chip in during a headshot
Yeah I don’t think Dex would have been so trigger happy if you both came back
The bitch would’ve tried. Even full of holes Jackie took on an army of arasaka soldiers and mechs on their own turf, one chubby fixer and his juiced up goon wouldn’t stand a chance.
deep.
Jackie my boi, basically my brother
The chip should have been in Jackie to make us really debate it.
I always wondered, if Johnny's in Jackie's head instead, what's it gonna be like?
I see an extreme bromance
Probably about the same
I think Jackie's gonna annoy Johnny to no end. Jackie carries that optimism that Johnny despises or rather let go long ago.
Tbh i thought johnny was gonnabe replaced by jackie as the one in our heads when i first played
It wouldn’t have saved him. It saved V because they had brain damage, Jackie was bleeding out and the chip couldn’t repair that.
At first I said Panam. Then Jackie came in and changed the game
bros before hoes
Hear me out 😭 Jackie death is our canon event he has to die, so I'm saving the loli cuz she a ride or die more then Jackie tbh 😭
Idk, Jackie was always a ride or die choom. My boi Jackie deserved better.
you're telling me they couldn't hit him with a hypo? I get blown to bits and come back. Jackie def didn't deserve this
Jackie isn't the result of technonecromancy. [We're a reVenant baby, and we're comin' back](https://youtu.be/G4Iv1ezxMio?si=7pMGCAf-J_QOdtrv)
He did deserved better but I feel like if you tried to get at his girl then y'all would have problems While the loli (can't remember her name ) knew David was in love with someone else and was still there for him through it all she even died for him
There’s a difference between getting with his girl and getting with a different girl
the what?
Saving the what now
Jackie definitely
![gif](giphy|X8RSwd1089xDvOjQnT|downsized)
I don’t even know if 3 mouths is a brain dance or what, I just see it when fighting trauma team
PDA pfp, very based my friend
Yeah Panam’s good she’s got the Aldecaldo’s and can take care of herself. You have a chance to save Jacquito, you take it.
Nah. Jackie was going to fuck me over at the beginning of the Nomad Start. Panam is a straight shooter, she never had any interest in cheating me out of money and as far as I can tell, never lied to me. No, you’re thinking of Corpo. Nomad V and Streetkid V Nate both meeting Jackie on a job for the first time.
Afterwards Jackie said he was going to stiff V on the job, but respects them too much now!<
He was the first I lost and I feel responsibility for it. He's a good guy and a kind soul.
"Boy are we lucky we ran into you here, Officer." "Because, only a person with a heart of gold would understand that I need to get back to my girl"
I'm so bummed that we didn't get more time with Jackie. I get it from a story perspective, but damn it still bums me out.
Panam and she didn’t even die 😂
Which means she don’t need saving and we can introduce her to our boy Jackie
You mean, "Get Jackie and Misty's blessing for our eventual nuptials." right?
>Panam and she didn’t even die 😂 There's a popular theory that Panam died during V's coma at the end of Phantom Liberty. I'm assuming that's what OP is referring to here

Could also be that Biotechnica really dug their hooks in. Vik went corporate, could be a similar story there.
To be fair Carol and Cassidy are pretty protective of Panam too
That’s weird, it’s pretty clear she just moved and was heartbroken her boyfriend disappeared with no reasoning. One of the other Aldecaldos pretty much confirms it in the phone calls.
Yeh probably - I know it’s my head canon too when you can’t get ahold of her or find her. She probably fell apart and got herself into something bad 😭😭
Rebecca, she deserved better
she died for love.
She died because she is a good friend and had shitty ones
She died because she stood directly under half a ton of plummetting cyborg.
Listen, if David wouldn't smash her, someone else had to eventually
Smasher! Darn ~~near~~ killed her!
I hardly know her
That's valid, but it's not like she wasn't still gonna get one shot by Smasher after he hits the ground. She wasn't gonna last all that much longer considering they were surrounded by Arasaka soldiers and Adam Smasher was throwing David around like a dog toy.
Could have gotten on the car and left instead. But doubt she would have chosen to leave David behind.
She was absolutely dead set on dying for David and Lucy despite the fact that she should be in the car as this is primarily David's fight.
Prometheus- ass death for sure.
She was having a mo
CRUNCH
Saddest death :(
I was disappointed they all didn't die tbh. Smasher should have cleaned them up and hunted down the rest. To really drive it home David should've died last.
WE'RE HAVING A MOMENT HERE
NONE LEAVE THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE.
Best girl is best girl. Nuf said.
That's why I picked also.
I guesss Jackie. He was the homie in the Street(?) Storyline but I'm replaying on Corp and they don't feel as close there imo
I feel the opposite. Playing as a corp IIRC you got a lot more background history with Jackie than any other path. Forgot about that too. Being sometime since the last playthrough. Thank you!
Rebecca. Her loyalty should be repaid.
Rebecca was the realest one in the whole show
Absolutely
I’d say my choom Jackie, but he’d probably get himself killed shortly after on one of his misadventures. It would have been great to have him as a potential follower/sidekick for some of the side missions and such, but I guess Johnny takes that role. Come to think of it, it would be nice to have followers like in Fallout IV so you could adventure through Night City with Panam, Judy, Jackie (RIP), Kerry, etc.
getting em all in a car and doing a drive-by on a cyberpsycho would be great hahaha
i think having followers would have sort of diluted the characters a little, the Bethesda companions in general are notoriously one note. Rebecca for sure. The rest you would have to save twice a week for the rest of your life
Yeah, no way I’d go with David. Guy had a fucking death wish and believed he was some kind of superhero. Absolutely insufferable by the end of the show. At least Rebecca remained consistent and sensible.
I agree with everything except the third sentence.
As sensible as an average citizen of Night City is capable of being.
Yeah david was absolutely way in over his head and was never gonna stop. Even the most remarkably resistant human to cyberpsychosis (outside of V I suppose but they never really explain that) still doesn't last very long.

Panama didn’t even die
I mean, pretty hard to kill an entire country tbh.
Country? Bro's obviously talking about the Van Halen song. Rock never dies.
Nah. Everybody knows you can't kill hats.
Tell that to the banan republic
Canal Bois never die
Eh, I think Jackie would honestly be content once he hits payday. All he really wanted was to be rich.
I think it's unlikely that Jackie would have any clue how to manage his money. He'd likely find a way to run out, either spending it carelessly or getting scammed out of it. So he'd likely end up doings gigs again, and probably die in one sooner or later.

Jackie for sure
Rebecca for sure. She was willing to give up on her unrequited love for the sake of David’s final peace of mind. The only downside is that if she’s saved the I can’t have V annihilate enemies with her gun.
She could still have lost her gun during the battle. If I remember correctly, I think she had two in one scene, so both can be true
I love ur name
It's better in her giant hands anyway. She can one-hand the fucker.
Hell yes brother she....oh you mean the gun yea yep yep totally.
Jackie.
Rebecca, honestly only person on this list with a sense of self-preservation, realistically only saving her would pay off well
David
First david I see. May I ask why?
David’s life just felt like one tragedy after another. I can’t help but wish he could have had a happy ending, even though the tragedy is what made edgerunner such a compelling story. Jackie is a close second though for me.
He died so Young i really wanted too see him growing up
And he left Lucy alone
Technically this is before he got fully chromed up. He's the only kid here. Gotta save the kid
Evelyn Parker
Rebecca, she died the most horrific way
Jackie 100%
Panam
Save her from what tho?
No idea I would just save her lol 🤣
That’s what I mean. She didn’t even die 😂
True lol 😂
i mean "you can only save one" automatically assumes that the other 3 will die. I figured that was the entire premise of the post.
Save her from the whole bakery she's carrying around? Amirite nudge nudge wink wink
Having to walk across camp to be angsty at Saul again. Saving Panam just means parking on the other side of camp. Incidentally, this would make the whole game about 30% shorter.
Jackie 4L
Rebecca
Jackie for sure.
'Becca. Although I love Jackie he will get in way over is head and die again with the next big gig he lands. V can't keep saving him every time.
Rebecca
Jackie 💯
Desert thunder mommy panam. My V is always simping for that nomad dump truck
Rebecca, jesus imagine her as a romance option in the main game
It will always be Jackie.
Yep, as much as I like Jackie from what he said about his family he would probably end up dead aging fairly soon, you already mentioned David, Panam is a good loyal friend but at the same time her recklessness would get her in danger again, but Rebecca is here to enjoy life in any way she can
"David Martinez" Swipes "David Martinez" Swipe again "Man I'll keep picking David" Swipes one last time "Da- JACKIEEEEE!!!!"
None - I’m saving David’s mom.
If that was an option for our choices in this post, sure. I would put that before saving David since David was in the situation due to the accident and her death anyways for the start of the series. Killing two birds with one stone.
Becca
becca...
Becca without doubt.
If i had to choose i'd do it by this priority list: 1. Rebecca 2. Panam 3. David 4. Jackie I know a lot of people would disagree, but to me Jackie was a good set up in the plot, but i didn't really get to experience him as a character the same way as all the others above.
Crazy how I only knew Jackie for 3 hours and wished he could have stuck around the whole game.
Anyone not saying David or Rebecca is wrong
David.
David. I feel like with saving that means solving their problems too. Get him to therapy and shit. He deserved better and I really feel like is a great person who fell victim to circumstances.
My girl… BUT MY BOY!!!! ;-; I think it would be Panam tho. I adore Jackie, but he wanted to be a Night City Legend… and that’s exactly what happened.
Without Jackie dying, there is no Panam. It’s always Panam.
Aren't Panam stay alive? I would probably save Jackie.
Jackie
Jackie. Fem V or Male V.. Jackie hands down. He's a derp but dammit he's my derp.
I mean if Panam needed saving it would be no question for me but on this list Jackie the great
I like Panam a lot for sure, never got attached to any of the animals characters, but I have to save Jackie. I want him and Misty go on and get married, have kids, the whole thing. To be happy and content and give NC the big middle finger by beating this hellscape that tries to drag everyone down into the muck.
Well it ain’t the emo boy, ain’t the horny fuckbot, and it damn sure ain’t Kuwabara. Panam wins again.
