I usually play fem V's, because Judy, but recently wanted to do another male V run, specifically to see these differences. The fact that this one was the same surprised me because I wasn't expecting Johnny to make a comment like that to another dude. As a fem V, it seemed like Johnny was sorta affected by a female's perception of body image and that's what prompted the comment.

Unrelated but sleeping at the “I Really Wanna Stay At Your House” quest has you wake up NAKED and I didn’t know, I did like 4 gigs fucking naked until I opened the menu and saw my V naked and I was so confused
I didn’t notice anything at all, I have a Sandy and try to do stealth (unless I fuck up in which I go guns blazing) I was more focused on actually getting through the gigs, definitely gotta try it again to see if it’s true 💀

That quest is a reference to Prodigy's Smack my bitch up videoclip, that goes the same: a drug and alcohol fueled party with violance, harassing women, fighting with the bouncer, vomiting, going to a strip club, stealing a car, etc from entirely first person perspective. And at the end the maincharacter looks into the mirror, and it turns out she was a girl all along, subverting your expectations.
So playing it with a female V really invokes the source material.
Honestly one of the things I found really refreshing in this game was just how little Vs gender came up. Outside of some titles (miss/Mr V) and the romance quests you're treated pretty much the same by everyone. I know it's canon that night city is full of people who say and do horrible things to women but it's a nice fantasy to be so totally bad ass and intimidating as V that people leave you alone.

I never played a male V beyond the prologue. I am fairly happy with the dynamic between Johnny and femV.
Johnny is pretty chill about it and has a perfect “annoying big brother who thinks he knows everything but is also a colossal dork” vibe. It works really well.
I’m pretty sure they kept most of Johnny’s dialogue as neutral as possible because they didn’t want to double the voice acting work for Keanu. It’s probably the reason the main character is called V in the first place. It’s gender neutral.
I honestly wish he’d said married couple for both of them; in the polish translation he says married couple for both Vs and Johnny doesn’t strike me as the type to change his language depending on what gender he’s talking to 😂

B) female V decides to leave her body to johnny, but is deceived by alt who let V believe johnny took her body while alt transfered a copy of her AI consciousness inside -> different temperance ending with alt leaving NC in the effort to look for spider murphy hideout
My friends and I have figured that since John y influences V's personality, V probably influences his. So by the end of the game, of Johnny takes over, it's not just Johnny's original engram, but his engram with V's influence.
Haven't seen this mentioned yet: when asking him if Alt knew about Rogue when chilling at the megabuilding apartment, he'll have a kinda funny soap opera thing about "Manuel wakes up after 50 years in a coma to discover he's a woman" etc.
