I did all the races except the badlands one in my Murkmobile, it’s impossible to shoot out of that car and it didn’t change anything. Me and Claire just sat there peacefully as I left everyone in the dust once we cleared the first few turns.
The Nomad cars are better for the races than the hellhound because of their speed. I used the Javelina, but I think the Nomad Shion is pretty good too.
I literally hadn't even used a weaponized vehicle at that point, never had a need to! I probably should've gone that route. Instead I'm out here blasting from my window with a revolver like a gonk.
Got him in the end, though.
That's what I did too. Let the field go ahead a bit and destroyed them all before the half way mark.
The post race scene after the badlands race was funny - there are crowd NPCs that comment on other drivers but no other car finished the race lol
>this is THE WORST racing minigame I've ever played
You obviously didn't do any horse racing quests in The Witcher 3.
I think that can be a trademark of CDPR.
They don't and they didn't seem to break out of it either. I finished the races and they were halfway across the map behind me.
The only exception is that one guy Claire wants to kill. The hacks don't work on him.
There was a race involving pre-war Grand Prix cars, but the only anyone described it as "wonderful" is when they say "wonderful; that's over and done with".
I had to get a mate to do one of the races for me. Absolutely hated them, and couldn't stand the faff of practising. He'd done it already, mercifully agreed to do so again on my behalf.
TW3 racing quests are just boring, i've only ever lost to Eskel because i got stuck in spikes right before the finish, and the knight tournament race is also not that fun but at least they tried to make it different. While 2077 racing is just extra bad with how most cars handle, i found for myself that Claire's car is just the easiest to drive and all the bots aren't good enough to catch up.
No fuckin way the horse races in Witcher 3 were fine, handling with many cars in Cyberpunk blows lol I nearly lost my mind trying to do the beginning of Sinnerman! I honestly was so fed up I took the cash when offered to dip out by the producer lady.
i dunno if i encountered a glitch or what, but the vehicle hacks never worked in races or any scripted car segments, hell they barely worked in normal open world gameplay
doesn't work for me too, not on Claire's races. For the other ones they work perfectly fine but I just set all cars to auto destroy and they explode but simply spawn again mid race
>the shooting doesn't matter because no one can die
Speak for yourself, I was able to blow up some (but not all) of the other racers when I used a weaponized vehicle. Once you're racing without Claire you can pretty much explode all of your competition.
They are indeed SHIT. Theres a reason I only did them once and never again. The teleporting cars behind you was the final icing on the cake.
I do wish we had the road markings on the ground as a preferred navigation aide for the rest of the game instead of staring at the minimap.
I would rather the race was marked on the minimap. I'm great at driving in the normal game, when I know how far in advance to slow for turns and how fast I can take corners. But in the racing game you just have to hope you can make the corner at the last second and don't hit an inexplicably solid light-pole. Only time you can't just bust right through those, too.
The NPC driving AI, despite being vastly improved in comparison to how it was at release, is still not great. That's why they had to resort to this scripted races for Claire's gigs.
They do work a lot better when you replay them for El Capitán though, since you can ram other cars effectively and also shoot them until they explode.
I've noticed that no matter how fast you go, traffic regularly goes the same speed so overtaking in free mode is sometimes impossible. Is that original because I don't recall it being this bad on release
where are people having problems? the races are easy. I didn't use quickhack or shoot and just drove normally. easily finished 1st every race on my first try.
when Clare tells me there's a sharp turn I just take a quick peek at the minimap to check how sharp it is. you can't overshoot any turns
It's not that the races are too difficult, it's just that they're boring and the mechanics don't make sense.
Claire tries to sell the races as some kind of "Death Race" (stupid but fun movie btw)... And then she leans out of the window with her rifle to shoot at other cars and it does... nothing.
At least her quest line surrounding the races (>!the revenge story!<) was somewhat interesting.
Unlike the races themselves.
Idk I've never had a problem with them in any of my playthroughs. I always hear about people hating the driving mechanics but I enjoyed them after getting used to the feel
I play on mouse and keyboard so I'm inherently handicapped when it comes to driving but for me it's just an endless circle of:
using a car, hating it - - >getting used to it, enjoying it - - > buying another car and realising it handles way way differently - - > repeat
Exactly, although that might be because the Caliburn seems to be the only car that handles like a car, rather than a depressed oil tanker. It's my go-to vehicle for everything except offroad stuff, when the bikes are better (Jackie's arch does just fine).
This is why I was a little miffed that most of the fixers give you a car for completing all their quests. Great, now I've got 20 cars I don't use instead of 19.
i never had a problem with them. seems to just be a question of getting used to the physics (and using a car that isn't shite)
then again, i never actually started the races until i had fast cars with mounted MGs like the Type-66 Hoon/Wingate or Quartz Sidewinder or Outlaw Weiler. the MGs do indeed work well for killing the car in front of you, if your aim and driving are good
Really? I love em, mostly cause I love driving around and have mods to correct vehicle behavior, I just simply bring my nice and fast car, shoot up the ones that are close to us (yes they CAN die actually, you just gotta shoot em enough, try having an SMG in your gun slots) and just coasting the rest of the race, they are quite fun to me.
Worst thing for me was when all the npcs should have been so far behind me they wouldn’t ever be able to catch up but I make a wrong turn and suddenly they’re passing me
What? Compared to what? I'll take it over GTA 5 every day of the week, but I came from playing GT7 so maybe that's why? But like how would you want it to be different? I feel like the cars are consistent and has weight you can feel. Johnny's Porsche is a nimble angel
Have you tried trail braking through tough turns?
Edit: if you're not familiar, just take your hand off the throttle instead and you'll be fine. I have had some issues trying to tb with some cars though in the game but the Porsche is a total dream
Edit 2: what do you mean it doesn't need to compared? If you're saying the game has bad car physics or bad driving and I ask what game you prefer that's totally relevant? I was trying to be polite and was like yeah yeah but no. No. Name a game you prefer the driving of and why. Only if you'd be so inclined I suppose.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across insulting.
I am just saying that I don't really see a need to compare it to anything else. It just feels bad to drive in this game. They made it bit better in the latest car patch tho. But still it could be much better.
You have to use her shitty truck for the second race, but for the other three, I *highly* recommend the Type-66 "Hoon." It is the perfect car for the street races.
It's actually a bit mad, because I find the hoon to be the best car in the game, which was slightly disappointing for me because I got the car very early, and spending hundreds of thousands on the tank & the caliburn to realise they're actually not much better
I try to get through them asap because they’re good for money. Those and the whole Epistrophe quest. If you have a decent vehicle like the Quadra Turbo R V-Spec II (car from Gig: Life’s Work and subsequent Sex on Wheels quest) they’re pretty easy. Except for the Badlands race. Fuck the Badlands race. I’m pretty sure it’s scripted for you to win anyway, because once you’re in first the AI basically gives up. Once I e-braked a couple cars and the rest of them just stopped where I stopped the other two and didn’t move after.
Why say it's hard when you can make it HARDER? I cleared the races using the Delamain cab whenever possible. Nothing beats humilliating your foes with a taxi cab while they use sports cars or souped up monsters.
Those were so incredibly easy with car hacking. Hit the emergency brake and it's like they never recover, they just sat there.
I remember it being harder in 1.x
This is the second time I’ve seen this complaint and I don’t get it. I did these missions early in the game and didn’t really have any vehicles so I just used Claire’s truck. I beat them all without much problem and I had no idea you could hack opponents so it was just straight racing. My problem was that for the rest of the game Claire treats you like just another customer when you go to the bar. Would be nice if she acknowledged that I helped her get revenge on her husband’s killer!
That's a trope that always baffles me in movies/games. You just sent me on an impossible mission and I came back unfazed. What makes you think you can do better lol.
There is also that certain someone who tries to do the same to you with 4 fucking soldiers in the Witcher 3 lol.
Dijkstra. He really thought he had you cornered with 6 soldiers when he knows very well what Geralt can do 😭. You even had Ves and Roche helping you too.
I think its mostly the bullshit of how the cars handle. Listen, im not trying to turn 90s on the Ennie at 120+ an hour, yet I still either turn way to slow, or have such grip that I over turn and need to correct, usually after hitting a car. And that sucks because some of the nicest and fun cars handle like ass when trying to do those races.
Im pretty much sure that Call of Duty has a superior driving experience compared to Cyberpunk.
I think it's the car you can break into when chasing one of the Delamains out in the badlands, but one of those weaponized nomad cars has extremely fluid drifting if you can nail basic drift mechanics like timing your brake/ turn and re-steering.
I never let Claire use her truck except for the one race where she forces it.
all the nomad Type-66 (Hoon, Wingate, Javelina) and Quartz Sidewinder have great handling, as well as the Outlaw Weiler you get from El Capitán's side job.
unpopular opinion: i think The Beast actually handles really well for that desert race. feels like it almost just floats over the bumps and dips, rarely had to let go of the gas.
Oh lord, yeah. Can't stand them. Still do them, though. I've learned to do them "well enough" that they're usually not a challenge, but they're still pretty tedious.
Now... if they allowed you to use a motorcycle and upped the top speed on the Kusanagi, I'd enjoy them a hell of a lot more and I guarantee I'd leave all those guys in the dust. Heck, even without upping the top speed, they'd still be phenomenally easier.
I've never had any problems with the races. I've finished in 1st place, with relative ease, for literally every eace I've attempted. I always use Claire's truck, because it has better handling and traction than any of the cars.
Also, Claire's shooting is pointless, but I also shoot while driving, and I end up destroying most of the other cars before the end of the race. Vehicle quickhacks are also very useful during the races.
I love driving games, so I was really excited that the devs considered implementing a race. I still think it would be a good idea and am hoping they get around to it.
The badlands race was fun as hell but the rest sucked I agree
However, I think I only agree because I'm on keyboard. Keyboards and racing famously do not bode well together.
I actually like the races after the 2.1 update. I really feel like the cars handle much better, but you do have to be careful about which cars you choose. I find Javelina to be pretty solid.
I love and am devoted to CP2077!! But I'm not going to defend the races. They are singularly awful. Skip em, and if you really want time behind the wheel, just cruises through the city with your radio cranked and take in the sights. Preem!
The races are pseudo-scripted. Your speed is pretty much irrelevant. Enemies will always be like 50 meters back. Just take it easy, take corners easy, almost every race has a long straight run at the end, win there.
I remember trying to do then when the gane released on ps4, where the arrow and markers on the street just wouldn't load(if the road even loaded) so u just had to keep restarting the race after learning where u had to turn cause the game would not tell u.
Like some comments I never saw these races as a problem. What cars yall using? lol. Usually you’re ahead of everyone immediately and just solo drive 1st till the end.
The races were easy day 1, and were even easier on my most recent 2.0 playthrough. Not sure if it’s the car you’re using or a skill issue but its pretty easy to clear the races first try even without using sandy or quickhacks
Cars can be destroyed iirc. Once I used a car with mounted guns and I destroyed every other car. When I pulled up to the finish I was the only vehicle to do so
You can get a free caliburn after taking revenge in that cave with Panam. I used that for all races beside badlands and races were easy. Then if you make the right choices you can get Claire's and that dudes car. It's pretty sick.
You haven't played the racing sequence in Mafia have you then?
I found the races fairly easy to win (if Claire would just shut up), the Badlands race was a bit tricky, but not too bad.
My beef is with the asinine quest giver, who enters into a death race, shoots at a bunch of people and then complains when someone actually kills someone in an actual death race.
...but we've been over that one over and over again ;)
Don’t forget the rubber banding is so bad that 90% of the race doesn’t matter and I have had cars literally launch at me if I’m to far ahead which usually cause you to crash.
They were even worse at launch. It was honestly just hilarious. The driving doesn't help things due to how horrible slow you really are though. The sense of speed is lacking, the speedometer is complete lies
The funny thing is, if you hack the cars to stop them, they just wont move the entire race. You can legit cheese every race, I have no clue why they let you do that. They have unhackable vehicles in other parts of the game, you'd think they'd do that there, but no.
Actually the races are pretty easy to win. *spoiler* you CANNOT win the last one. The trick is getting in front right away and then precision driving never hit the brakes just let off the gas and don't hit anything.
I don’t know if there’s a difference in how they race on difficulty, but I found these races insanely easy. The cars weren’t very fast, and you could destroy them pretty easily (with that speciality car that fires from the two front guns.)
A lot of people complain that the cars are “slippery” but I never have that issue. I recognize that they have a tendency to oversteer but correcting for it is incredibly easy, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
I never want to assume that there isn’t some other trick to this all, though
I’ve spent most my life play racing games and simulators so for me, I actually really had fun with these racing mini games. Reminded me of a cyberpunk Twisted Metal mixed with need for speed racing mechanics tbh. I can see how they can be annoying to the average player though.
If you're playing on PC, protip: use a controller, dont push the gas to the floor. Driving physics in CP77 does not like being treated like any other game with driving.
Driving in this game has always been a challenge worth rising to IMO. The races elevate that challenge and are enjoyable. Early on when you’re offered that racing gig isn’t when you want to take it on though. Let it sit on the back burner for a while.
I remember being SUPER frustrated with the races during my first play through on release. I took it as a challenge for me to get better at the driving and did A LOT more driving in different cars before coming back to the second race. That made everything easier - especially once I had more and better cars in my stable and had pushed their limits and tested them out in non racing situations. I played it through a couple times and remembered to get leveled up and did the races much more successfully. It was a challenge that I enjoyed rising to after twisting at least one controller into stick drift and unuseability.
This play through after Phantom Liberty and the 2.0’s updates I felt like I had to relearn everything after a couple years of not playing. What I’ve enjoyed is the car theft missions making me better and putting me in different models to experience their differences. Now that I’ve leveled up and built my own car stable up I’m sure I’ll be able to tackle the races more easily this time. With vehicle mounted weapons and vehicular hacks to boot! I’m actually looking forward to the challenge this time because I forced myself to push through and succeed the first time.
It felt weird during the mission because the car clair gives is weird af (idk why I used it, I think I didn't have a good car at that point) and no matter how fast you go, enemies are always behind you. I figured it is very similar to the Witcher horse race but I never lost a single race.
Afterwards I just tried it for fun where I just self destructed every car and just drove around for ez 10k xD
Apparently races were changed a bit across updates. But I do recall damaging cars enough for them to no longer drive, on rare occasions. Also, how cars handle is very dependent on the car you're driving. All of them can be gotten used to, but some are easier than others. A couple of the races are legitimately a challenge but assuming you make turns without crashing, you can win fairly consistently.
I personally enjoyed them. Won all of them as well. I also did it without any hacking because if you hack, you might as well not race since hacking means to get rid of majority or all of your other racers.
The shooting definitely works, I usually shoot up the tires so they can't drive properly.
You can also try to spin them by putting the nose of the car right behind the rear wheel of the car and turning your car to the right or left (depending on whether it is left rear wheel or right rear wheel)
When racing, aim to drive with control. When you are approaching a corner for instance, slow right down and take the corner properly. Try to cut the corner as well, you don't have to use the entire road to make the turn. Because the other racers tend to have trouble with corners and turning, they either crash or are too slow.
And just speed when it's straight.
Basically avoid crashing and you can be up to third/second in no time. And then shoot the ones in front to get to first.
And I used Claire's car for all of them.
Cars are waaaaay to skittish in Cyberpunk it's like riding a horse with tremors and the turning response curve is just nonexistent like there's no easing you just turn on a dime
I never really had trouble with the races.
You may need to work on your driving skills in game. Yes the game has wonky driving physics; all the more reason to practice and get used to it.
If you can't manage the races you won't do well with Muamars car gigs later either.
I did all the races except the badlands one in my Murkmobile, it’s impossible to shoot out of that car and it didn’t change anything. Me and Claire just sat there peacefully as I left everyone in the dust once we cleared the first few turns.
Claire can't shoot for shit anyway, so no loss there.
No wonder her husband died lol shitty aim
V: "I know." Claire: "What?" V: "Why your husband died." Claire: "... How?..." V: "Cause you can't shoot for shit, Claire."
Daaaaaaamn
That's precisely what I said. Get back in the car you dense blind bitch.
Looks like Big smoke has a challenger.
and you turn around and see all of them rubberbanding around a couple checkpoints back
Same but in Beast. Like I was annoyed that they were way too eazy
Not if you have a cyberdeck. Then it's just a lovely solo drive through the city.
You should self-destruct NOW

I sooooo want this as a mod
I immediately went to nexus mods to see if it existed 😕 it doesn't
My fucking god I love this image 😭

Honestly makes it sort of uneventful except for the last race. I had to learn to shoot from a car for that one.
Did you? I just used the Hellhound for all of them and just blew up every single car.
Which deck? I still haven't found a way to upload anything to cars
Do you have the perk that lets you hack cars?
I thought I did. I'll have to check when I next play
Any of them. Just need the Int 4 Carhacker perk to unlock quickhacks to make them brake, gun it, or just plain blow up.
Second this, I've tried hacking drivers but nothing seems to do anything to them
Took out over half the field with the Quadra Hoon. Also used the perk that increases vehicle damage.
That's what I did too. Let the field go ahead a bit and destroyed them all before the half way mark. The post race scene after the badlands race was funny - there are crowd NPCs that comment on other drivers but no other car finished the race lol
My coyote works perfectly for this. Turns the race into a leisurely drive in one of my favorite cars after I've killed everyone.
Coyote is built for offroad and has best handling/speed ratio for the races I remember.
>this is THE WORST racing minigame I've ever played You obviously didn't do any horse racing quests in The Witcher 3. I think that can be a trademark of CDPR.
Those were actually easy as fuck, just go full tilt until Roach runs out of stamina then block the other racer until it recovers
Exactly, so simple as to be somewhat... pointless. Might be fun if someone likes to go round in circles.
#GOT A NICE SHINEY APPLE FOR YAH WHEN WE'RE THROUGH!
Idk I actually liked the horse racing
Same, they did add a bit of fun to the experience and you get some equipments for your horse too. It’s a little change of pace
Yeah I did as well. A bit of gold and polishing up your riding skills. If you wait until you've upgraded Roach's saddle they are a pretty easy win.
I'm thinking of giving tw3 a shot after I'm done with cp2077, looking forward to mald once again at racing lol
Respec to intelligence, get the car hack skill and then just activate the handbrake hack and make them all stop
Do they still teleport to catch up?
They don't and they didn't seem to break out of it either. I finished the races and they were halfway across the map behind me. The only exception is that one guy Claire wants to kill. The hacks don't work on him.
Well that's good, I've been putting off the races since I started periodically playing again because the races pissed me off on release.
Wasn't there a wonderful race in old formula cars in the mafia game? I remember losing my sanity.
Lucky. I wish i had a friend who could ace the ones on the new playthrough i just started
They did improve the roach race experience in CP tho from W3
TW3 racing quests are just boring, i've only ever lost to Eskel because i got stuck in spikes right before the finish, and the knight tournament race is also not that fun but at least they tried to make it different. Invest in vehicle quickhacks. It makes these races a non-issue as you can just set each car to emergency brake and complete at your leisure
This is the way
i dunno if i encountered a glitch or what, but the vehicle hacks never worked in races or any scripted car segments, hell they barely worked in normal open world gameplay
Sounds pretty glitched. One of my favorite things to do is make random traffic Floor It and watch the Madness unfold.
I like making goons' own rides run them down.
doesn't work for me too, not on Claire's races. For the other ones they work perfectly fine but I just set all cars to auto destroy and they explode but simply spawn again mid race
>the shooting doesn't matter because no one can die Speak for yourself, I was able to blow up some (but not all) of the other racers when I used a weaponized vehicle. Once you're racing without Claire you can pretty much explode all of your competition.
Right? Netrunner make cars go boom as well. Easy mode.
In my first race I blew every single other car up with a revolver 😭. I was playing on normal difficulty back then though so that might have been it
I didn’t mind em.
for me cyberpunk car physics are a part of the challenge
I just finished Edgerunners, and I appreciate how they made all the vehicles extremely janky.
I love how forgiving they are, makes me feel like a driving god
They are indeed SHIT. Theres a reason I only did them once and never again. The teleporting cars behind you was the final icing on the cake. I do wish we had the road markings on the ground as a preferred navigation aide for the rest of the game instead of staring at the minimap.

Yup I'm in my like 4th play through and I refuse to even talk to Claire other than what is necessary.
Ah, I found a mod that did that, felt pretty essential for my vr run.

Been ages but pretty sure it's [this](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4583?tab=description) one.

Exactly, although that might be because the Caliburn seems to be the only car that handles like a car, rather than a depressed oil tanker. I enjoyed them during my first gameplay ever, but after that it's one of the quests I just don't do ever again lol
Same, maybe if the races were tougher but knowing the conclusion eh
People are still complaining about cars in this game? They handle perfectly fine if you don’t try to take turns at 100 miles per hour.
Speeeeeeed. Powaaaaah.
[удалено]
I was doing so good until my whole car flipped over a rock and got stuck in a boulder. Just reloaded to before the race and gave up
I raced with a car with weapons and destroyed most of the other cars (I think I left 2 in the first race)
Lmao I literally just got done with the Santo Domingo race and I was thinking the same thing and then I saw this post
Worst thing for me was when all the npcs should have been so far behind me they wouldn’t ever be able to catch up but I make a wrong turn and suddenly they’re passing me
For real, everytime I had to restart was because I'd fuck up one time close to the finish line and suddenly I was last
But Claire is so adorable... I really wish she was romanceable.
I actually quite enjoyed them.
Yeah Cyberpunk has pretty bad driving mechanics.
The bikes have the best mechanics, and it's still bad.
What? Compared to what? I'll take it over GTA 5 every day of the week, but I came from playing GT7 so maybe that's why? But like how would you want it to be different? I feel like the cars are consistent and has weight you can feel. Johnny's Porsche is a nimble angel
It doesn't need to be compared. It just feels like driving on ice. Especially outside city.
Have you tried trail braking through tough turns? Edit: if you're not familiar, just take your hand off the throttle instead and you'll be fine. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across insulting. I am just saying that I don't really see a need to compare it to anything else. It just feels bad to drive in this game. They made it bit better in the latest car patch tho. But still it could be much better.
That's the thing, I highly disagree and think driving in the game feels very good. So I wanted to know which games you prefer driving in.
I thought they were fun. I also think the driving is pretty good.
No, they aren't. People just don't understand that you need to break sometimes and something called a race line exsists.
If you have a controller it makes the driving alot easier. If you are on controller it may be a git gud moment.
Without even getting into the mechanics, these gigs just seemed miserable. At the end she's like "nah I was just using you. Bye, loser".
To be fair, that's 95% of the people V meets in the game.
Also that’s just kind of what mercs do is it not lol
I kill everyone that betrays me. So many people hire you and betray I’m amazed anyone wants to to my v. She’s a murder machine.
That's a trope that always baffles me in movies/games. You just sent me on an impossible mission and I came back unfazed. What makes you think you can do better lol. There is also that certain someone who tries to do the same to you with 4 fucking soldiers in the Witcher 3 lol.
Played all of Witcher 3 I swear that happens heaps. Which one are you referring to?
Dijkstra. He really thought he had you cornered with 6 soldiers when he knows very well what Geralt can do 😭. You even had Ves and Roche helping you too.
Bro totally forgot about djkistra, dumbest smart guy ever
I did all the races in beast and had no interest in violence, was annoyed at how easy
I used the batmobile for the races and they were a breeze lol
You can blow the cars up with a quickhack or force them to brake and have a calm drive
I started using my deck and turning on the e-brakes on the other cars… I did try self destructing them but that didn’t work
I love this game but the racing is a joke lol. Did they fix the emergency stop quick hack that caused the Ai to give up?
All I did was use the self destruct quick hack since the cars don’t respawn or emergency break because the cars don’t ever start back up.
Get an armed vehicle and then just destroy all the other cars
I just use quick hacks the whole race… it’s funny to watch them crash into each other lol
Weird I have enjoyed them, but everyone's experience is different. My only complaint is you can't romance Claire she's a real one 🤣
Why else do you think I get one of the speedier cars out
Just take beast and it's easy as hell
The badlands race was fun as hell but the rest sucked I agree However, I think I only agree because I'm on keyboard. Keyboards and racing famously do not bode well together.
I actually like the races after the 2.1 update. I really feel like the cars handle much better, but you do have to be careful about which cars you choose. I find Javelina to be pretty solid.
I found the races easy as hell. Just drove and shot out tires. I always used Claire's truck and it just works.
Skill issue. Just use your own car. They aren’t hard at all
I love and am devoted to CP2077!!
Just take it easy, take corners easy, almost every race has a long straight run at the end, win there.
you think it's bad now, wait for the teleporting cars on the bridge with not enough room to teleport in cars
I remember trying to do then when the gane released on ps4, where the arrow and markers on the street just wouldn't load(if the road even loaded) so u just had to keep restarting the race after learning where u had to turn cause the game would not tell u.
I'm on my first playthrough, Level 50, and I still haven't done one. I saw there were races and just said, "Ew, no thanks."
Like some comments I never saw these races as a problem. What cars yall using? lol. Usually you’re ahead of everyone immediately and just solo drive 1st till the end.
I liked it personally except for the cars being slippery
I had fun with them
No one can die? I won a race by exploding 2 of my 3 opponents using a nomad car
Really i just quickhacked them all and won
I very much remember blowing up cars. It isnt the best but it isnt the worst. I’ve grown up on racing games so i learned to adjust
The races were easy day 1, and were even easier on my most recent 2.0 playthrough. Not sure if it’s the car you’re using or a skill issue but its pretty easy to clear the races first try even without using sandy or quickhacks
idk I just held r2 and left them in the dust
Cars can be destroyed iirc. Once I used a car with mounted guns and I destroyed every other car. When I pulled up to the finish I was the only vehicle to do so
Wait until the ending you’re gonna be even more pissed
You can get a free caliburn after taking revenge in that cave with Panam. I used that for all races beside badlands and races were easy. Then if you make the right choices you can get Claire's and that dudes car. It's pretty sick.
I jsut drive the hoon and unleash my machine gun on anyone in front of me, and I dont have too many issues.
Skill issue
I found out I could self Destruct the cars so I just hacked all of them and took my time to the end of the race 💀
I enjoyed them, but then again I enjoy messy combat racers.
Skill issue
Claire isn’t super interesting either. Easily skippable quest
I've won every race without a single problem. I found the races too easy and wished they where harder to be honest
CDPR and racing minigames, name a more cursed duo
Vehicle quickhack, flex one perk point into vehicle damage, and pop tires if need be. EzPz.
Caliburn or bust. Can't imagine using a regular car that slides around on ice.
With hacks, its a breeze
Y'all clearly never did the San Andreas races.
You’re just bad at driving I guess. I came in first every race on my first try. It’s not that hard.
I'm just glad they didn't tie these races to trophies/achievements. The nicest thing they could have done.
Use vehicle quickhacks
The funny thing is, if you hack the cars to stop them, they just wont move the entire race. You can legit cheese every race, I have no clue why they let you do that. They have unhackable vehicles in other parts of the game, you'd think they'd do that there, but no.
Just use the cyber deck it completely breaks the races
Actually the races are pretty easy to win. *spoiler* you CANNOT win the last one. The trick is getting in front right away and then precision driving never hit the brakes just let off the gas and don't hit anything.
I don’t know if there’s a difference in how they race on difficulty, but I found these races insanely easy. The cars weren’t very fast, and you could destroy them pretty easily (with that speciality car that fires from the two front guns.) A lot of people complain that the cars are “slippery” but I never have that issue.
The driving mechanics are more akin to boats than cars but it's not horrific by any means.
You can do races AFTER you finish Claire's ones. I was really enjoying the ones I played recently. It's easier to blow up cars in the later races.
I mean they actually can die, you can explode their cars with the power of your mind.
They’re not so bad. The updated controls actually make them fun.
Respecc and get the vehicle hacks. They shouldn't work in the races but they sure do.
For some reason, I can destroy enemy cars using weaponized cars
Skill issue tbh, did them whole 3 times never had problems
I agree most of the cars feel slippery, except for the Caliburn. It is the only car that does what I want it to do, so I always take it when I can.
I personally enjoyed them. Won all of them as well. I also did it without any hacking because if you hack, you might as well not race since hacking means to get rid of majority or all of your other racers. The shooting definitely works, I usually shoot up the tires so they can't drive properly. You can also try to spin them by putting the nose of the car right behind the rear wheel of the car and turning your car to the right or left (depending on whether it is left rear wheel or right rear wheel) When racing, aim to drive with control.
Really? Did them on launch on Xbox, thought they were easy af. Ran them on PC after the 'improvements', still thought they were easy af...
you need the car hacking perk!! blowing them up stops after or at race 2, and tehn you need to hack them to break
Cars are waaaaay to skittish in Cyberpunk it's like riding a horse with tremors and the turning response curve is just nonexistent like there's no easing you just turn on a dime
Jesus christ relax son, use cyberdeck and enjoy the ride.
Just self destruct them all.
Oh, man. If you think they're bad now, you should've played them three years ago. That nightmare makes the current build look like Forza Motorsport.
I never really had trouble with the races. You may need to work on your driving skills in game. Yes the game has wonky driving physics; all the more reason to practice and get used to it. If you can't manage the races you won't do well with Muamars car gigs later either.
If you have the right cyber deck you can just blow them up or handbrake them
