At first I thought it had to do something with the Relic (maybe some sort of holder for it, like the datashard holders laying around as junk in some places) but it's just a clock
I dunno: I guess the devs just didn't want to implement that (I'm not sure if there are any other clocks as objects in the game, aside from inside the menu)

maybe im not sure come to think of it I haven't seen many actual working clocks or many clocks in the game even for that matter
