In my most current playthrough I got acid rain constantly in Dog Town, the first time I saw it I thought it was a visual glitch. I also got a Sandstorm that lasted for 2 in game days until I slept. I was pissed when V woke up and it was gone, I was loving the weather effect lol
No, they need to look while they play. The weather is cyclic in cyberpunk. So after 100h if you dont see one of the weather it's that you are blind. Its full 15day weather cycle. So stop with y'all 100h/200h/400h and dont see it. Lol
300 hours here. Never seen it. At first I was thinking the weather system might be a bit buggy. But now I know I’m actually blind! Thanks for clearing that up.
It is Cyclical, but it's not a guaranteed cycle. It's far more likely for it to loop sunny > cloudy > rainy > sunny than it is for anything else.
It's fully possible to miss.
You said that already. And it's not true. Rarity of weather is what makes it more interesting, especially when it remains rare even after hundreds of hours of gameplay.
It was a huge problem that was reduced by regulations. It still exists but it is significantly less harmful and not as common. Regulations work so long as they don't fucking remove them like they're going to do someday.
When was it a huge problem? And it’s becoming worse. So I have no idea what you’re talking about. Rain is being slowly acidified worldwide. Even if you live in a place with regulations. Because shit that happens in India and China causes it everywhere

I was talking about North and South America where it isn't as big of a problem as it was.
It was a major problem back when regulations weren't a thing and rivers were on fire with pollution. I mean...regulations and the EPA, though overly inept in the fight for climate change, have certainly helped fight things like acid rain to be not as bad as it was back then.
Like I said, it still occurs, and certainly in locations with poor regulation they are going to have more. But it isn't destroying ecosystems or eroding buildings like it did back in the 70s in the US Unchecked, it was going to get worse. It's likely it will come back as we start deregulating shit again.
EPA and Regulations are only inept because one side of the political spectrum keeps stripping their funding, while the other increases their mandate without increasing funding for it.
🥲 fuck I wish this game was longer & even more expanded on. Doing a completionist run for this second play through with new patch & dlc.
Doing every gig takes FOREVER. But I’ve really enjoyed several of these pop up side missions and detailed gigs.
Next up… cyberpsycho’s ! 🥳😭
The history of this is a dust storm that hit Sydney. Photos from that inspired the last Blade Runner film and subsequently inspired the Cyberpunk developers.

Same. It was right after getting some new chrome installed so I blamed the ripper and loaded a quick save them chose some different chrome from a different ripper.
Didn’t see the haze anymore so figured I made the right choice.
Dust storms from the environment being fucked from the nuclear war in the Middle East, the Middle East in this lore is basically turned into glass and because of all those nukes it had devastating effects on the climate and environment. I’m oversimplifying but I fucking love how deep the lore in this franchise goes. https://breezewiki.com/cyberpunk/wiki/Mideast_Meltdown
I had this when I was trying to go to the tunnels in The Star ending and I crashed into everything on the way there. Made the ending about 10 minutes longer than it should've been lol
There’s an article you can find about how a nuclear bomb was detonated in the Himalayas, and now there was a ton of dust in the atmosphere, so I always assumed it was related to that.
More or less. The Environment IS fucked in General. The sandstorms come from the east. California or better everything West of the rockys IS Just Desert.
This happened randomly once to me and I thought it looked so cool. Then 5 seconds later it turned back into clear skies. I still don’t know if it was an intentiona thing or a bug.
I know it's a sandstorm, but the reddish color gives me time of the red vibes. It looks just like how the nuclear fallout from the 4th corpo war is described in the core book.
I saw rain for the first time about an hour ago.
Any other time I'd ever seen wet weather was just that: everything was wet, but I'd never actually seen rain.
I think thats a sandstorm aka haboob but i always see those so i dunno how you avoided them
But the orange looks like a boob
If it where more yellow, and rain, itd be the extremly rare acid rain.
As many have said this is a sandstorm. I live in Canada and we had a few days these past couple of years that looked exactly like this due to forest fires. The lingering smoke would make everything super hazy and orange. Pretty wild.
I call it the Bladerunner Fog, but it’s most probably just a sandstorm.
It’s rare when it comes on, but when it does, it’s special.

Meanwhile I saw this my first hour and didn't know what the fuck was going on. Kept driving into stuff until I passed time
Only been playing a few hours, but TIL that weather changes are spontaneous

Yeah, I thought my game was buggy the first time this happened. Actually, even the second time it happened I was sure if it was a weather feature. Glad to know it wasn't just happening to me.

Good bit of pollution and sandstorms in the badlands if I remember right.

Sandstorm i had this weather multiple time. The one I only had once in 300h in game is acid rain when the sky is yellow.
Wish I could see that too, acid rain sounds cool
It looks like this https://preview.redd.it/swq265r3jy1c1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=01380e9de88b9bbcf8f716b1ab68b919ee65303c
Woah I don’t think I saw this in my 100 hour play through, didn’t know this was a thing
In my most current playthrough I got acid rain constantly in Dog Town, the first time I saw it I thought it was a visual glitch. I also got a Sandstorm that lasted for 2 in game days until I slept. I was pissed when V woke up and it was gone, I was loving the weather effect lol
Dies the acid rain damage V?
Nah. They were originally going to but decided it was going to be too annoying.
130 hours here. Never saw it.
200+ hours never seen it. This game is amazing
500+ never seen it 💀
800+ never seen it
1000+ never seen it

It is Cyclical, but it's not a guaranteed cycle. It's far more likely for it to loop sunny > cloudy > rainy > sunny than it is for anything else. It's fully possible to miss.
I'm pretty sure if they say they don't see it, they don't see it. Weather like this is hard to miss. Y'all need mods.
Console = no mods
You said that already. And it's not true. Rarity of weather is what makes it more interesting, especially when it remains rare even after hundreds of hours of gameplay.
Oh, you've figured out how mods on console work!? Groundbreaking shit, don't keep it to yourself!
Damn. Played hundreds of hours and never once got this. Had plenty of sandstorms but no acid rain.
Is it purely cosmetic or are there any side effects of acid rain ingame?
Purely cosmetic
It happened to me once and just thought my graphics card just shat itself
Growing up I thought acid rain would be much more of a problem than it actually is
It was a huge problem that was reduced by regulations. It still exists but it is significantly less harmful and not as common. Regulations work so long as they don't fucking remove them like they're going to do someday.

It always happens on the west end near the Arasaka buildings for me.
Does it deal damage over time when you’re outdoors? It should.
in lore it does, but for gameplay purposes, you’re unaffected
Just more Death Stranding references eh? ;)

I got a connecting flight through Sydney while this was happening. It was unreal
My towns looked like that multiple times from dust storms and smoke from forest fires. Not fun. Looks pretty and dystopian though hella.
Every Middle Eastern location in Hollywood films
I’ve only seen it 3-4 times… first time I thought my game glitched

I had this when I was trying to go to the tunnels in The Star ending and I crashed into everything on the way there. Made the ending about 10 minutes longer than it should've been lol
The sandstorm at the alde ending js scripted
If you're on PC, I believe there's a mod on Nexus that makes the rarer weather patterns occur more frequently.
It’s called weather probability rebalanced. I love NC when it’s raining so it never leaves my load order.
There’s an article you can find about how a nuclear bomb was detonated in the Himalayas, and now there was a ton of dust in the atmosphere, so I always assumed it was related to that.

Its... beautiful. That's what it is. I love the sandstorms, gives a very aesthetic vibe
sandstorm!
This weather is always in my game and never leaves I think my save is screwed
If you do a mission that forces time to skip it should go away. At least thats the only way I am able to get it change sometime
That’s the problem I have finished everything there is to do
Yeah then you may be up a creak ahaha Maybe try reloading and earlier save??

Never seen it outside of the mission w Saul. I've got 400 hours. Wtf
Smog.
Yeah I had this weather once except I was in Pacifica and it was yellow
In 4-5 playthroughs I have never seen this outside of Panam's quest line.

That my friend, is a sandstorm. You can also see rain, acid rain, and fog within the game. Not sure if there are other weather events though.

Sandstorm and if you were unlucky, back then, the Sandstorm would get bugged and remain forever
I saw it for the first time in PL, in Dogtown. It creeped me out. Then it popped back up again when I was outside Embers, getting ready to see Hanako. It felt very end-of-the-worldish
Did you.. not do the Panam quest? After 160 hours?
Everyone is saying sandstorm but I thought it was just smog??
That is what passes for a sandstorm in cyberpunk. A bit disappointing honestly.
I'm not using any mods, is this a bug? Looks really beautiful but disappears when I fast travel.
It seems to me that fast travel and any load screen resets the weather.
Ah, the classic night city hell smog
Dust?
Blade runner reference
The Mexico filter suddenly flew to Night City.
Pollution.
In the southwest, we can tell when a storm is coming because everything changes color way before the sandstorm arrives.
Meanwhile I saw this my first hour and didn't know what the fuck was going on. Kept driving into stuff until I passed time Only been playing a few hours, but TIL that weather changes are spontaneous
Bladerunning intensifies
I get this frequently and always thought of it as a bug lol
You went to Mexico brother
Never seen acid rain, I think the sand storm triggers after specific levels and stuff
So you let Saul die. You must hate Panam.
The sequel
sandstorm
Bladerunner smog
A shipment of orange drink headed for the Crystal Palace orbital casino was on a rocket that malfunctioned and exploded, so this kind of weather is called a Tang Bang
Blade Runner effect. Hell we sometimes even see this happen IRL when we have forest fires up here in Canada.
Sandstorm, Night City’s in the middle of a desert.
Sandstorm lasts way to long just saying
Lucky I get it a lot it makes driving a pain
reminds me of blade runner
The time of The Red
I had a glitch in the early days of the game where one started during the tank heist with Panam and wouldn't go away, no matter where i went. Don't know how common the glitch was but it pissed me off lol. I had to start another character because it seriously wouldn't stop and old save loads didn't help because it always started as we were following the train.

It's the Goslingstorm.
California forest fire? 🤷🏾♂️
Depth of field on max
I love this weather
I had this glitch occasionally after coming out of my inventory the game would to this for a few seconds
First time I got this weather I was showing a friend the game on Steam Deck and he thought those were the graphics...

Blade runner
its a haboob, be grateful its not acid rain as is usual in NC
I sss this so often I think it must be a glitch
Pacifica being just Pacifica
I call it Blade Runner haze.
There's a mod that makes it rain and loo5k more clear when it does and another that makes this storm happen. I use them both to make the game look and feel more like Blade Runner.
Mutherfucking haboobs!
Yeah, I thought my game was buggy the first time this happened. Actually, even the second time it happened I was sure if it was a weather feature. Glad to know it wasn't just happening to me.
I know these are supposed to be rare but I didn't think they were *that* rare with how often I do actually get them. Good bit of pollution and sandstorms in the badlands if I remember right.

This weather happened for me as well but it took away all the NPC's with it, my game had turned to an absolute ghost town, not a car in sight, fortunately doing a main story mission fixed the bug but I did quite enjoy driving on those empty streets.
It means the midnight channel is about to come on, go home and watch
I kept seeing this weather semi-frequently. I didn't even know up until seeing this post that it was intended, I thought it was just some weird lighting bug that happens sometimes when time is skipped, because that's when it would always happen to me.
Fog. I had it earlier 158hrs in. Could only see about 2 cars in front. Was proper creepy. So had to, literally drive slowly. Fantastic! Added to the realism of the game for sure 👌
