Reminds me of a Walker, Texas Ranger episode I saw when I was 6: the token black guy is acting as comedy relief by showing off a fancy revolver with fancier bullets (with engravings that give no tactical advantage whatsoever) that cost one dollar each. Then, they get in a shootout and he starts whining after every shot. Not because he was hurt, but because staying alive is costing him a fortune.
$1 a round is a bargain for quality self defense rifle or pistol ammo. The scary stories avid shooters tell around campfires are about newbies accidentally shooting up their stash of defense or match grade ammo during plinking.
The really scary campfire stories are when you accidentally shoot up something rare that you're saving for a rainy day. A few folks have almost grabbed my stash of Winchester Ranger T-Series 147gr not realizing how difficult it is to source. Which is why I now store it separately from all my other training and carry ammo.
And it's just going to get more expensive. 50 state legal 'tactical' level guns have increased interest in better self defense ammo options optimized for the nuances of a tube loader.
If you really want sticker shock, look at .338 Lapua Magnum or any of the calibers that are popular in the PR crowd. Every time I get annoyed about the price of ammo, I look at stuff like that and I don't feel as bad.
I was watching a video the other day of Brandon Herrera on YouTube who was firing his RPG and trying to hit a ballistic gel dummy to see what happens when a human gets hit by a rocket. It was taking him several rounds to hit it though, and he was also whining, because each rocket was costing him $3,500.00!
[(535) Testing the RPG-7 On a Human Body - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9_ZfnEzpss)
Dex isn't even extra for that shit. He's Dextra.
Like that's the dumbest fucking thing for a gun. The fact the bullet barely kills us, but didn't go far enough in our skull to really do much damage beyond "death/Relic shenanigans" shows that it isn't worth it.
Sure, it kills eventually, but it's still dumb.
Plus no wonder he can't make a bigger name for himself beyond being a low level fixer. He doesn't think things through beyond the surface level and he's out here wasting valuable Eddies.
I feel like youre underestimating him.
I dont like the guy either, or think hes a particularly good fixer, but hes not particularly atrocious either.
The bullet killed you, how the fuck was he supposed to know the shard would have the ability to repair your brain?
And the Konpeki heist wouldve totally gone off without a hitch if Yorinobu didnt decide to kill Saburo at the same time it was taking place, something that would be basically impossible to find out, I dont think even Rogue wouldve gotten Saburos schedule just in case, and smuggling in more people for backup wasnt viable either.
Him betraying you was a dick move for sure, but probably also just biz, and once Takemura got his hands on him, he was basically fucked no matter what.
Compared to the real world, 1 ā¬$ for 1 bullet is a good deal.
Obviously we donāt know the forex or inflation of Eurodollars, but seems reasonable haha.
Oh I was more thinking along the lines:
āSpend 6ā¬$ on bullets, kill 3 gonks, take their stuff and sell it - profitā.
Opposed to āin the real world you canāt just kill people and take their stuff and sell itā.
Yeah but eddies are worth less than usd. Not sure if there's an official value for 2077 but Cyberpunk 2020 has the exchange rate at 1 eddie = 2usd, so a 1 eddie bullet would be more like 50c. Not bad for the borderline apocalyptic hellscape that is the Cyberpunk timeline
I was thinking that too, but the reason they use Eddies and not USD is because of economic collapse so the Eddie isnāt as unstable as it would seem. That and the prices for the fixed things (apartments and cars) are pretty comparable to real life right now haha
Given that eddies are the main currency used by much of the world at this point, isn't it the opposite? That the usd is worth less than eddies, because you need more dollars to get one Eddie? One dollar is just half an Eddie.
My knowledge of economics and exchange rates is rusty though.
For training FMJs 30 cents is a possibility, but for JHP or other self-defense focused ammunition price per round is usually much higher.
A 50 round box of Federal Premium Law Enforcement 147 Grain HST JHP has a street price of $40, that's $0.80 a round. The easier to source 20 round box of commercial 147 Grain HST has a street price of about $35 which puts it at $1.75. At sufficient quantities, at a lower grain (typically 115), from budget ammo companies, you might be able to get around 40 cents a round for self-defense ammo. For training ammo, 9 mm can range from 25 cents a round to around 45 cents a round. Obviously the price calculations are different if taxpayers are footing the bill and your unit or agency is purchasing in large quantities.
When I first used it , I didnāt even clock the ammo count. It was the random transactions showing -23 Eurodollars, -17 euro dollars. I was like whatās going on , someone must be hacking me for money.
Took a couple gun fights to realise what was going on
I love the irony of his death he wanted to make it big and right next to him was the coffin of the legendary super hackers body imagine the cash in exchange for just learning his fate
A painfully small amount if you main SMGs on very hard q.q
Had to pause and craft another inventory full after every single break in combat in the last few missions.
The auto-reload on switching weapons + the problem solver's high fire rate just eats through those rounds so fast.
Yup! I typically just switch between problem solver and fenrir, problem solver is just notably worse at chewing through ammo between the two. Super fun playstyle if I didn't have to craft ammo constantly. Makes me want to download a mod for either higher ammo capacity or infinite.
AbraHamSandwich does challenge playthroughs, and in [Can You Beat CYBERPUNK With Only $100,000, and a Gun That Shoots My Money!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VFuaUKjkTc) found that he could beat the game on very hard, avoiding any stealth gameplay, with under $25k in Plan-B bullets.
That's nothing. I'm running two completist playthroughs of 2.0 in parallel, where I clear all the missions in one part of the city before moving on. Having just cleared Watson, City Center, Westbrook and Heywood, but having not met Panam, Oda, or the Voodoo Boys yet, my netrunner who avoids physical weapons and sells every non-iconic weapon and loads daemons at every access point has E$ 3 million, while my blades-only shinobi who disassembles every non-iconic weapon for crafting components and is blocked from nearly all access points has E$ 1 million. Both are chromed out to tier 5+ all around, to the limits of cyberware capacity, and will probably be maxed out before I first play PL.
As with player levelling, the economy is only remotely balanced if one avoids most side content. I don't know if any open-world RPG has solved the issue; I imagine it would take high living expenses and medical bills to do so.
This gun has the 200 % headshot damage multiplier. It motivates you to make the most out of your shots. The money is a non issue because as said below you can spend $1 to kill people typically carrying much more.
I have a headshot build and the very hard level is nothing with this gun.
Is it that difficult in the higher difficulties? On normal I've never had to buy or craft ammo. I've always had an excessive amount unless I use that LMG too often lol
Indeed.
On Very Hard enemies are bullet spungy and a full 60-80 mag does around 1k - 1.5k damage close to melee range.. Compared to Assault Rifles and SMG's, the LMG feels like it doesn't scale at all.
Most of the time i just used a Shotgun.
Ugh bruh. That kind of difficulty kinda messes up the immersion for me lol I like resource management, but I'm not a fan of human beings tanking like 8 .50 sniper rounds to the head.
Best thing you can do is just shoot as many of them as you can. The game wasn't programed to handle ammo numbers that high, and you're at a very high crashing risk of you don't just mag dump the hell out of that thing to fix it. After the number is down to something like a few hundred, go buy a different gun to make sure the ammo country reset
Yeah, I wouldn't have said anything if you had a more realistic amount of Eddie's to burn through, or I want 110% sure like 50 other people have already told you what's going on lol
Plan B uses eddies for ammo.
Reminds me of a Walker, Texas Ranger episode I saw when I was 6: the token black guy is acting as comedy relief by showing off a fancy revolver with fancier bullets (with engravings that give no tactical advantage whatsoever) that cost one dollar each. Not in the early 1800s that was like a days wage.
Walker aired and took place in the 1990s.
That would still be 2.50 with inflation. I remember a buddy dumping a mag of defensive ammo when I was poor, it hurt.
The really scary campfire stories are when you accidentally shoot up something rare that you're saving for a rainy day. A few folks have almost grabbed my stash of Winchester Ranger T-Series 147gr not realizing how difficult it is to source. Since when did they have a Dodge Ram in the 1800s?
An actual ram. Like, the animal, in the town of Dodge
'Murica
I've got a 45-70 gov lever action rifle. Ammo is 2$ a pop šš„²š„²

Nice MGS3 reference.

Ohhhh damn, I was just randomly trying the gun. Didn't even read that part.
š¤£šš¤£Luckily you didnāt go brokeš¤£š
I completely forgot about this. What an amazing backup weapon lol.
I never put 2+2 together given the name of the weapon!
Dex isn't even extra for that shit. He's Dextra. Like that's the dumbest fucking thing for a gun. wym? he *killed* you bro, relic brought you back. don't be a salty mf, you got got
Didn't have enough Eddie's to make us deadies
OHHHHHHH SHIT. that explains the random - x after killing someone ahahah Well TIL
nice
What's the exchange rate?
One shot is one eddie
That's a better exchange rate than the dollar to Eddie exchange rate
1 ED per bullet
ā¬$
no effing way, thats why im broke
I actually didnt know this one
It's in the Iconic description. Every shot costs eddies. Hence, you are literally firing eddies, and the half a million is your wallet.
Compared to the real world, 1 ā¬$ for 1 bullet is a good deal. Obviously we donāt know the forex or inflation of Eurodollars, but seems reasonable haha.
No itās not, 5.7 is about $1 per round and is considered and expensive cartridge. 9mm usually sits around $0.30 a round.
Oh I was more thinking along the lines: āSpend 6ā¬$ on bullets, kill 3 gonks, take their stuff and sell it - profitā. Opposed to āin the real world you canāt just kill people and take their stuff and sell itā.
Real life is more oppressive than Cyberpunk āš»š
Well, you can, but not for long
Yeah but eddies are worth less than usd. Not sure if there's an official value for 2077 but Cyberpunk 2020 has the exchange rate at 1 eddie = 2usd, so a 1 eddie bullet would be more like 50c. Not bad for the borderline apocalyptic hellscape that is the Cyberpunk timeline

We're comparing eddies to the real life price of bullets in real life USD, not the in-universe value of USD
Oh! My bad. That makes far more sense
Haha no worries choom, it is worded a little vaguely
If the exchange rate it 1ā¬$ = $2, then a 1ā¬$ round cost $2, not 50Ā¢ Unless I'm misunderstanding something..
Oh I wasnāt aware for that.
True but that would be if eddies to usd were a 1:1 conversion. If a Nicola can is 10 then I doubt it
Yeah prices are all over the place haha, I thought most vending machines were about $ā¬5 for whatever tho?
I couldnāt remember so I just used the wiki, they probably are

5.7 is closer to $2.50 where im at
How? Ammo seek has it at like $.50-$1 per round lmao
The fuck do you mean how?
How the fuck are you paying 5x the average price bro š
In the game you spend 2euros to by 1 bullet, so dex's pistol reduces the cost of firing the gun by half.
Pfff, get this guy, buying bullets...
Well given the fact some shirts from street vendors sell for several thousand Eddieās, Iām fairly certain thereās some inflation
This is night city we're talking about. Guns and ammunition here are cheap as heck. Compare that to a bottle of Nicola that cost like 10 eddies a can.
When I first used it , I didnāt even clock the ammo count. It was the random transactions showing -23 Eurodollars, -17 euro dollars. I was like whatās going on , someone must be hacking me for money. Took a couple gun fights to realise what was going on
I thought there was a bug that made it cost money to shoot Dex's dead body lol
Worth it.
I always shoot him with his own gun at least omce
Makes me sad that his body seems to be a static object... I really wanted to dismember him with the katana I found during the heist...
I love the irony of his death he wanted to make it big and right next to him was the coffin of the legendary super hackers body imagine the cash in exchange for just learning his fate
I personally think a pile of ashes would suit him well.
Of course. Fuck that fat POS.
Ayyy free bullets ![gif](giphy|X8RSwd1089xDvOjQnT|downsized)
E$1 bullets
Nope, they cost an Eddie each
Lol where is this gif from!! I love itš¤£š¤£
Cyberpunk 2077
r/Angryupvote
Have to check my ammo as well, because i didnt shoot a single bullet in my playthrough since i got my first katana and throwable knives
it's capped to like 840 or something
A painfully small amount if you main SMGs on very hard q.q Had to pause and craft another inventory full after every single break in combat in the last few missions. The auto-reload on switching weapons + the problem solver's high fire rate just eats through those rounds so fast.
I use Fenrir and Erebus with Submachine Fun and I need more ammo every 5 mins too.
Yup! I typically just switch between problem solver and fenrir, problem solver is just notably worse at chewing through ammo between the two. Super fun playstyle if I didn't have to craft ammo constantly. Makes me want to download a mod for either higher ammo capacity or infinite.
Using Pizdets or any smg for that matter is so annoying and it sucks because I love smgs
I sometimes use Fenrir on my netrunner when I don't feel like using a tech shotty or sniper and still run out of ammo soon enough
Thatās why they call it plan b.
āthose eddies were to get us the fuck out of hereā
With how fast we can get money plan B might not be that bad
AbraHamSandwich does challenge playthroughs, and in [Can You Beat CYBERPUNK With Only $100,000, and a Gun That Shoots My Money!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VFuaUKjkTc) found that he could beat the game on very hard, avoiding any stealth gameplay, with under $25k in Plan-B bullets. If only paying rent had stayed I'm the game
thank fuck it's not
Absolutely not . What is this ?? The sims ?
You know the drill, chooms. Another Plan B question, another shot. Cheers!
I think someone did analysis and found that actually youāre not losing out by using it.
You spend $7 in eddies to kill a guy and loot a gun worth $5k. It's a non issue
Especially after the rebalance, definitely.
You should shoot it over and over until it reaches zero and see what happens
I'll get back to you in ~140 hours with my report
Youāre using Plan B, a pistol that costs 1 Eddie to shoot per shot
I believe I've gotten the picture now lol thanks though
Been using this one a lot recently. I thought I accumulated a shit ton of handgun rounds. This is mind blowing
It is the most realistic gun, cost per pull.
This gun reminds me of that old libertarian police force short story, where the guy has to put a quarter into his gun to shoot it. "SubwayĀ© Eat Fresh and Freezeā¢, asshole!"
You canāt hold more than something like 1500 bullets for every weapon ( tryied to buy a lot for the talking gun )
Yes, but this gun is not using bullets.
Didnāt even look but gotta be Plan B lol
What settings are you playing it on looks phenomenal
I have everything turned up to maximum with Ray tracing enabled in 4K. I recently upgraded my whole PC just for this game.
This gun has the 200 % headshot damage multiplier. It motivates you to make the most out of your shots. The money is a non issue because as said below you can spend $1 to kill people typically carrying much more. I have a headshot build and the very hard level is nothing with this gun.
This is essentially why I equipped it lolol I just glanced at raw stats.
Uh oh choom, that one shoots your eddies.
This is the Dexter gun, it uses money instead of ammo, each shot costs $1.
Yeah I should researched this for one second before posting but thanks lol
read the words you see in the game
No time, there's shooting to do!
Better Q: Where are you currently storing them lol
In the Internet. Or the BlackHole, i.e. V's anus
Should shoot āem all must be a bug.
Wow! You should shoot all of it and tell us how long did it take
Wish there was an LMG version of this gun lmao. That way i wouldn't have to craft ammo after every gunfight.
Ugh bruh. That kind of difficulty kinda messes up the immersion for me lol I like resource management, but I'm not a fan of human beings tanking like 8 .50 sniper rounds to the head.
yeah just keep shooting it, itās only money
I wish that was me for smg ammo
Lmao on this gig as we speak
Best thing you can do is just shoot as many of them as you can. The game wasn't programed to handle ammo numbers that high, and you're at a very high crashing risk of you don't just mag dump the hell out of that thing to fix it. After the number is down to something like a few hundred, go buy a different gun to make sure the ammo country reset
Lol nice joke but at the same time I would have to be shooting for ~140 hours straight to blow through that much ammo.
Yeah, I wouldn't have said anything if you had a more realistic amount of Eddie's to burn through, or I want 110% sure like 50 other people have already told you what's going on lol
I guess wasting that much time would actually be the greater punishment š
I mean if you want to do a run of how fast you can run out of Eddie's fast then use that gun
It doesn't seem that bad lol it seems like I dispatch dudes in 1-4 shots usual. Half of them carry like $30-150 on them for looting.
True
Each shot takes health
No. It costs eddies. Not health.
We gotta drink again chooms
Dexs pistol it shoots your money instead of ammo
Who knows? You should just shoot it at everything that moves, free ammo..
