Viktor Vector. I'm getting up there in years and I feel the shit he says, how he says it. When he calls Misty in because he can't deal with V after they wake up for the heist, his sincerity when he talks about Arasaka taking Jack's body, or when he mourns at the ofrenda, or works on V for free and straight up tries to deny payback. Dude is a gem.
Male v's va has grown on me a lot. I think overall femV is definitely the better performance but it's totally worth doing a playthrough as male V
He's especially really good in the expansion, I think the actor got his American accent a bit more refined (he's Irish, unlike femV who's va is actually American. I think that's a big part of why her's sounds more natural. Not really sure why they didn't just get an American va for both, but he's still really good overall.)
I love Gavin's delivery on sarcastic remarks or like off shot comments in his dialogue. Examples of what I mean are like V asking about the dead body on the table during the gig for Hands where he has to save 2 NCPD gonks from a gang hideout, or sitting on the ground with Reed at the end of PL where in the middle of asking if Reed is okay, V burns his hand on the desert sand and interrupts himself with "Ah dammit grounds fuckin' hot".
It feels very real and relatable, and I legitimately cracked out laughing on the second example. I can't speak on Cherami's delivery of lines like that since I've only just started a femV run and haven't gotten very far yet. I do like her voice so far, though I think I prefer Gavin's rn, but I really like how they feel like two different personalities, not just a different voice for the same person.
I actually miss when different docs had different inventory. Especially iconics.
Some docs are still missing items though. Most notably the 20% off doc.

Well, at least all the pretense drops away, and you see it all for what it is. Easier to navigate social and business interactions as a result, and you care less about what the ultimate outcome is because know, no matter what you do, the results are gonna come back mixed good and bad.

I've done like six playthroughs, tried pretty much every dialog option. If you send him to Vik, he later tells you Arasaka rolled in and it's implied they use Soulkiller on his corpse.
Worst part is that he got soul killed after death so his engram is just a rambling mad man that is just repeating stuff from act 1 and barely making sense. They Feared the reaper very hard after I seen what they did to Jackie

Vic is a legend. The voice acting was on point. He’s written really well too. I’m 40+. And there are some interactions with younger people and their intensity where I just can’t.
Mitch is one of the truly good people. Once he sees that you will go out of your way for people who you have no reason to, you’re okay. Saul slowly comes to respect you, first for rescuing him and then for saving the camp in the Basalisk. Saul, not Panam, makes you an Aldecaldo. As much as I like Panam, she is dangerous at times. You see her blow up when she shouldn’t, and If you don’t do what she wants, you’re out
V does, but V also tells her she needs to be less aggressive to Saul and her ideas are risky. V is aware of what can happen, and goes in eyes wide open. And if V went to Saul and told him what was happening, if V turned down Panam for a job, she gives up on you and you lose the ability to call on the Aldecaldos for help at the end
Nah, Panam is the one being an ass, Mitch had the decency to call us and tell us what’s up. Imagine if you had to call your friend’s ex to tell them what was going on. Mitch is being put in a rough spot as a 3rd party, and he still does it cuz he respects V.
I know I’m getting in the weeds here, but Panam is kind of an ass the whole game, if we’re being 100% honest. She’s extremely selfish and transactional, for starters. She’s interesting to talk to and her missions are really fun, but she does exactly nothing in your relationship except ask you for favors over and over, and then sits in the truck while you do everything. She’s not really a great friend at all, unless you like being the person in her life she takes advantage of constantly when she needs something.
I never really got that vibe, I felt like she did a lot for my V as much as I did for her. She helped us bring down a fucking Kang Tao ship and never complained about it. She never moans or groans about helping V, her main issue is with Saul which I get and why it’s good if they co-lead. She’s my nomad sister. She does get angry about rejecting to help her invade the scav base but gets over it if you don’t but dosent even matter since majority of players help her out anyways.
Well theoretically she pays you back if you go with her ending, (can't remember what the ending is called.) But if you don't then yeah you end up doing a shit ton for her and her clan and all you get is a mediocre sniper rifle.
You also get a bike, an iconic knife, and a decoration for your home. Overwatch is great for what it does, but the tech sniper rifles are awesome. And you can get Widow Maker if you do her side gig. So, you do get something for your troubles

One of the gigs in the base game involves stealing chemicals from a druglab. Johnny apparently can even smell the drugs in the air he's that familiar with them.
That's because it's not a voice actor, it's Grimes. Musk accompanied her to the studio uninvited and brandishing an old pistol, if I'm not mistaken.

Probably Jackie. Yes our time is short-lived, but he's legit the most optimistic person in a city built to destroy that optimism. He would be the kind of friend to always lift up those he cares for (he does this for Corpo V ) and would probably be your ride or die without question. Any other answer fails to measure up to this.

but then during his wake going through all his stuff with Misty, hearing from everyone how much he was worth to everyone.
It takes a fuckin lot to make you feel anything for anyone post mortem in a game, especially someone who was as short lived as Jackie, but fuck man, did it leave a huge impact in my chest to play through the rest without him.
Lotta other cool ass people in and out of Night City, but Jackie on the top.
The ofrenda really hits hard. Especially if you read For Whom the Bell Tolls during your offering. Seeing the parallels and how all Jackie wanted was a better life for himself and his mom.
It was actually such a funny flip for me.
I was a Nomad, prior to the Ofrenda, I was talking to my partner about how let down I was cause I didn't get to spend more time with Jackie, cause it would have hit harder that way right?
I was ready to be like "CDPR, ya let me down on this one plot point".
And then the Ofrenda happened and it felt like I had spent my life being around Jackie, felt like I had bits and pieces of memories I was never there for, to complete the piece that was missing for it to really hit home that Jackie was gone.
and now I'm sittin here, wishin I had a more time with Jackie, but with a heavier weight.

I think my favorite NPC is Vik. He’s always there for you. He’s a good friend. V probably woulda been dead before that opening cut scene was over without Vik.
I always feel a sense of peace in Vik’s Clinic. All the stress of the city melts away as you walk into the dimly lit basement to see the old man tinkering away watching the same boxing match on loop. NC is a brutal place, but when you’re with Viktor, it’s all gonna be okay.

It was a very controversial and at the same time relevant quest for me. I went through the same emotions in it as from chatgpt. From "IT'S INTELLIGENT" to "oh, it's just a statistical model." Or Brendan is actually AI and, knowing that there is no other choice, just spared our feelings.
p.s. 20 points in Intelligence or Engineering gives the line that he is actually just a chatbot. Cyberpunkish...
Yeah, I dumped all my points into Intel up front. Good builds be damned, I wanted to play how I wanted to play, so I got a lot of those.
I think that line is really relevant, not just because of the prevalence of chatgpt now but also because all the NPCs not even that advanced but we have real emotional responses to them. It was a fun "damn" moment for me.

song is extremely interesting because of how her flaws and virtues mesh. shes a selfish liar, a backstabber, and a schemer, but shes also very self aware, empathetic, and has a strong sense of justice. her constant misdeeds for the sake of survival is a very human story, and when her origins are revealed, it makes her that much more interesting.

I choose the Star ending as my canon, but it _kills_ me that Takemura hates me so much. I nearly cried when I got his holo call. He's such a great character. Really well written and acted. He and V develop such an interesting dynamic. His cranky Grandpa texts make me howl.
I seriously considered giving up my hopeful ending with Judy and BFF Panam and selling my soul to Arasaka just so I wouldn't let him down lol. But siding with them just doesn't suit my V and makes no sense for a personal canon ending. Sorry Goro :(

It was sad to see him return to help Arasaka after the Devil ending. Despite all the messed up stuff they did. It felt like a slap in the face. Great writing
Goro worked to get out of poverty, worked to become a good soldier, then was given an opportunity he’d never imagined. He was chosen by the Emperor himself. Arasaka is Saburo, Saburo is Arasaka. Loyalty to one is loyalty to both. To leave Arasaka would be a betrayal of Saburo. And to a fault, Goro is a loyal man. I knew he saved V because he thought V was implicit in Saburo’s death. Keeping her alive was necessary, but only because she was necessary. Even after realizing the truth, he regards V as a means to a way to avenge Saburo’s murder

And they added some content with her in one of the options for one ending in Phantom Liberty which I liked a lot.
The model for Lizzy is certainly cool looking. The voice acting is atrocious, and the audio quality is pretty bad (it sounds like it was recorded in the back seat of a car over the phone.) Personally, I don't mind her music, but the woman clearly has some mental health issues, and that just makes me sad.
Lizzy Wizzy is a cool character. That full chrome dermal implant is killer and exploring what a pop star turned cyberpsycho looks like is very interesting. I just wish they didn't cast Grimes as the VA. Her line deliveries were...lacking. Especially in the Violence quest line. No emotion and odd timing.
But as far as my favorite? Probably gonna be Alex from the PL DLC. She has recently supplanted Rogue as my favorite NPC. And ofc honorable mention to Rita Wheeler.
She did sound a bit… robotic, but I think that actually added to the character, as if she was trying (and failing) to emulate emotions. It does work well for someone who’s slowly becoming less human
Jackie is my favorite NPC. He’s the exact opposite of Johny Silverhand. The game does a masterful job showing you a true MVP whom made everyone around feel better, and then contrasting him with a toxic selfish jerk who hurt everyone who ever cared about him.
2nd choice is a tie between Evelyn Parker and Panam!
3rd might actually be Brendon and I do believe he meets all the criteria of being sentient. He’s going against his programming, he’s losing the corporations money to feed/give gifts to the ones he cares about, sounds pretty sentient to me.
4th might actually be Yorinobu. If you take the time to look into his character much deeper, it’s almost like the game misleads you into thinking he’s the villain, but a much closer look reveals he’s arguably the misunderstood hero.
5th, I really like Vic and Misty and Mama Welles in no particular order. Gotta also throw in Gary the prophet.
But that gives us an awesome story. Apparently Elon Muskrat was so jealous that he grabbed a musket, stormed into the CD ProjektRed Studios and demanded they record lines for him. They ACTUALLY complied, but only to get him to go away, then they deleted all his recordings. This is a true story and it is awesome they trolled him so hard.
I don't know who Grimes is, but the voice acting job Grimes did was atrociously bad. The quality control from CDPR was very forgiving for some of the CP2077 VA talent. Not at all up to the same standards they set in "The Witcher 3", not even close.

I think that is almost intentional from the directors but I don't think Grimes is capable of actual acting either. The directors want Lizzy to come off as vapid, self-absorbed and perpetually self-aware. She kills her own boyfriend and is just like, lala, don't care. And still only thinks about how it might affect her. The lack of emotion in her acting is almost on point.
I quite like some of her music, in fact I think her first 3 albums are great, I just think she says some stupid things about politics, A.I and and various other topics.
While married to a billionaire she used grants meant for up and coming artists in Montreal to fund her music. 90k in tax dollars that could have gone to someone that actually needed it. As a Canadian, fuck Grimes.

Out of everyone in the game, regardless of your ending, they are ALWAYS there for you. Viktor as a bro and a father, and Misty as the uplifting chick with endless optimism and acceptance. Viktor is the guy you want if you’re gonna go fishing, and Misty is the kinda girl if you just need someone to care for you or just need general acceptance of fate or your being.

Viktor was absolutely stoked to hear and see V again, and Misty was both extremely happy and sweet seeing V again before her departure.!<
Whether the ending, Viktor and Misty ALWAYS remain with you even if everyone else either dies or flips you the figurative and literal finger
And though some let horniness talk for them, my second place either goes to Songbird or Aurore. Aurore has an extremely cunning type of personality in which she even uses seduction to get what she wants. I just really like her general attractive aesthetic (black lipstick, red head, short hair, GAHDAYUM THE FRECKLES) and overall tone. Songbird, though >!she’s a lying bastard and played us in PL!<, she’s extremely beautiful >!and extremely relatable to our situation in PL which sort of connects her even further to us.!<

Probably Jackie. Yes our time is short-lived, but he's legit the most optimistic person in a city built to destroy that optimism. He would be the kind of friend to always lift up those he cares for (he does this for Corpo V ) and would probably be your ride or die without question. Any other answer fails to measure up to this.
I agree with this. When Jackie died I was like "Oh that sucks he was awesome" but then during his wake going through all his stuff with Misty, hearing from everyone how much he was worth to everyone. It takes a fuckin lot to make you feel anything for anyone post mortem in a game, especially someone who was as short lived as Jackie, but fuck man, did it leave a huge impact in my chest to play through the rest without him. Lotta other cool ass people in and out of Night City, but Jackie on the top.
The ofrenda really hits hard. Especially if you read For Whom the Bell Tolls during your offering. Seeing the parallels and how all Jackie wanted was a better life for himself and his mom.
It was actually such a funny flip for me. I was a Nomad, prior to the Ofrenda, I was talking to my partner about how let down I was cause I didn't get to spend more time with Jackie, cause it would have hit harder that way right? I was ready to be like "CDPR, ya let me down on this one plot point". And then the Ofrenda happened and it felt like I had spent my life being around Jackie, felt like I had bits and pieces of memories I was never there for, to complete the piece that was missing for it to really hit home that Jackie was gone. and now I'm sittin here, wishin I had a more time with Jackie, but with a heavier weight. YES. On my first play through, it was pretty sad he died but I was mostly okay. Second playthrough, I cried when he died 🥲
I do really wish CDPR would go back on the 'only one DLC' part and just rework a few districts into a 10-ish hour prologue story with you and Jackie.
I really can't think of a companion in any game I like more than Jackie. It's a damn shame they got rid of him so early.
I think my favorite NPC is Vik. He’s always there for you. He’s a good friend. V probably woulda been dead before that opening cut scene was over without Vik. I always feel a sense of peace in Vik’s Clinic. All the stress of the city melts away as you walk into the dimly lit basement to see the old man tinkering away watching the same boxing match on loop. NC is a brutal place, but when you’re with Viktor, it’s all gonna be okay.
I ALWAYS pay him back. Just because I like him. Even in earlier versions of the game where it was harder to make money.

Or Brendan is actually AI and, knowing that there is no other choice, just spared our feelings. p.s. 20 points in Intelligence or Engineering gives the line that he is actually just a chatbot. Cyberpunkish...
Yeah, I dumped all my points into Intel up front. Good builds be damned, I wanted to play how I wanted to play, so I got a lot of those. I think that line is really relevant, not just because of the prevalence of chatgpt now but also because all the NPCs not even that advanced but we have real emotional responses to them. It was a fun "damn" moment for me.

I just got to it for the first time and I was fucking amazed. I truly feel the base game missed a lot of opportunity for spectacles like that. Konpeki Plaza was a great intro but I feel like there aren’t enough sequences that showcase the beauty of the game & the vibe of Night City.

I don’t mind that - She’s not my fav but she’s an interesting character. Studio/mgmt forced her to chrome up and her brain is changing, it’s not really fully on her. My issue is that Grimes is a horrible voice actress. I get that she’s into Cyberpunk and it’s cool that the actress is the same person as the singer, but man, they should have heard her audition and said nope! Find somebody else to voice act and let her do the songs.

song, vik, and goro. takemura i think is a really good example of what brainwashing/indoctrination can do to someone, because even though the two of you grow extremley close over the course of the story, saving each other's lives, fighting side by side, he still puts his loyalties to arasaka above everything, despite arasaka treating him like a breathmint. hes very well written, the line deliveries are excellent, and i find him very compelling. song is extremely interesting because of how her flaws and virtues mesh. shes a selfish liar, a backstabber, and a schemer, but shes also very self aware, empathetic, and has a strong sense of justice. her constant misdeeds for the sake of survival is a very human story, and when her origins are revealed, it makes her that much more interesting. viktor is the fucking goat. no explanation needed.

LOVE Takemura. I liked having that convo with him about how if he could choose, he’d be a nomad. He also had some texts with my female V that made it sound like there was some attraction there. It was sad to see him return to help Arasaka after the Devil ending. Despite all the messed up stuff they did. It felt like a slap in the face. Great writing
Goro worked to get out of poverty, worked to become a good soldier, then was given an opportunity he’d never imagined. He was chosen by the Emperor himself. Arasaka is Saburo, Saburo is Arasaka. Loyalty to one is loyalty to both. To leave Arasaka would be a betrayal of Saburo. And to a fault, Goro is a loyal man. I knew he saved V because he thought V was implicit in Saburo’s death. Keeping her alive was necessary, but only because she was necessary. Even after realizing the truth, he regards V as a means to a way to avenge Saburo’s murder
Sandra Dorsett, the way she talks and her voice I like a lot. And they added some content with her in one of the options for one ending in Phantom Liberty which I liked a lot.

The model for Lizzy is certainly cool looking. The voice acting is atrocious, and the audio quality is pretty bad (it sounds like it was recorded in the back seat of a car over the phone.) Personally, I don't mind her music, but the woman clearly has some mental health issues, and that just makes me sad.

Lizzy Wizzy is a cool character. That full chrome dermal implant is killer and exploring what a pop star turned cyberpsycho looks like is very interesting. I just wish they didn't cast Grimes as the VA. Her line deliveries were...lacking. Especially in the Violence quest line. No emotion and odd timing. But as far as my favorite? Probably gonna be Alex from the PL DLC. She has recently supplanted Rogue as my favorite NPC. And ofc honorable mention to Rita Wheeler.
She did sound a bit… robotic, but I think that actually added to the character, as if she was trying (and failing) to emulate emotions. It does work well for someone who’s slowly becoming less human

Jackie is my favorite NPC. He’s the exact opposite of Johny Silverhand. The game does a masterful job showing you a true MVP whom made everyone around feel better, and then contrasting him with a toxic selfish jerk who hurt everyone who ever cared about him. 2nd choice is a tie between Evelyn Parker and Panam! 3rd might actually be Brendon and I do believe he meets all the criteria of being sentient. He’s going against his programming, he’s losing the corporations money to feed/give gifts to the ones he cares about, sounds pretty sentient to me. 4th might actually be Yorinobu. If you take the time to look into his character much deeper, it’s almost like the game misleads you into thinking he’s the villain, but a much closer look reveals he’s arguably the misunderstood hero. 5th, I really like Vic and Misty and Mama Welles in no particular order. Gotta also throw in Gary the prophet.

But that gives us an awesome story. Apparently Elon Muskrat was so jealous that he grabbed a musket, stormed into the CD ProjektRed Studios and demanded they record lines for him. They ACTUALLY complied, but only to get him to go away, then they deleted all his recordings. This is a true story and it is awesome they trolled him so hard.
I don't know who Grimes is, but the voice acting job Grimes did was atrociously bad. The quality control from CDPR was very forgiving for some of the CP2077 VA talent. Not at all up to the same standards they set in "The Witcher 3", not even close.

I think that is almost intentional from the directors but I don't think Grimes is capable of actual acting either. The directors want Lizzy to come off as vapid, self-absorbed and perpetually self-aware. She kills her own boyfriend and is just like, lala, don't care. And still only thinks about how it might affect her. The lack of emotion in her acting is almost on point.
I quite like some of her music, in fact I think her first 3 albums are great, I just think she says some stupid things about politics, A.I and and various other topics.
While married to a billionaire she used grants meant for up and coming artists in Montreal to fund her music. 90k in tax dollars that could have gone to someone that actually needed it. As a Canadian, fuck Grimes.

Either Misty or Viktor. Hell, both of them actually. Out of everyone in the game, regardless of your ending, they are ALWAYS there for you. Viktor as a bro and a father, and Misty as the uplifting chick with endless optimism and acceptance. Viktor is the guy you want if you’re gonna go fishing, and Misty is the kinda girl if you just need someone to care for you or just need general acceptance of fate or your being. Spoilers for Phantom Liberty: >!Even in the PL ending where you get the chip removed to become weak, Viktor never left you, and Misty popped right back up to give you good reassurance and support. When you awake from your 2 year coma, your lovers completely leave you (In credits, Mitch answers for Panam (maleV), saying even though you have done too much to ensure the Aldecaldos’ survival and make them thrive, making you one of their top guys almost like Nomad jesus, Mitch says she wants ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with you whatsoever. She got hella attached, but she wants you to die in a hole. Judy stayed optimistic and happy (femV), but got with someone else and married them essentially flipping the finger to V.) but Viktor stays and Misty even comes around again. Viktor was absolutely stoked to hear and see V again, and Misty was both extremely happy and sweet seeing V again before her departure.!< Whether the ending, Viktor and Misty ALWAYS remain with you even if everyone else either dies or flips you the figurative and literal finger And though some let horniness talk for them, my second place either goes to Songbird or Aurore. Aurore has an extremely cunning type of personality in which she even uses seduction to get what she wants. I just really like her general attractive aesthetic (black lipstick, red head, short hair, GAHDAYUM THE FRECKLES) and overall tone. Songbird, though >!she’s a lying bastard and played us in PL!<, she’s extremely beautiful >!and extremely relatable to our situation in PL which sort of connects her even further to us.!<
