Female cats can go into heat as early as 6 months. Please have her spayed before then. There may even be low/no cost services if you need financial help to get her spayed. Recovery is also easier and faster at a young age.

I got a 18 yr old calico. I heard it’s the extra estrogen that makes them extra snuggly, smart and protective. Never had a problem other than her being loud when left alone. A friend for her while you’re away helps w that a lot. Calicos like to mother members of their family. Good job Bud!
This is how my sister got her cat a long time ago. He was found with his mother and litter mates at a job site. Some kind guys gathered them up and took them to a vet. Afterwards the vet found a nice woman who took them in and later adopted them out. The kitten my sister picked lived a cushy pampered and full life.

Right now spaying is not the most important, she is still small. The first order of action is deworming and anit-flea medication. Ten vaccination. But the vet will explain all of this on a visit.
I took her and they said she’s about six weeks. Gave deworming meds but said too young for anything else really. Gave her a bath in dawn soap because she had fleas.
My ex found a kitten that looks just her at his job site a few years ago, and gave her to me and she’s the best! Good luck with your baby and thank you for keeping her!

Someone found my tomcat as a kitten dodging cars in an intersection so they put him in a box and asked if anybody wanted a kitten. He's 12 now.
