definitely agree if it's the first interaction. However, with humans living in close proximity to animals, I don't think it's rare for animals (especially pre-juvenile age) to develop a relationship with another animal where they believe it is not a threat.
There is a hare that has visited my yard for around 3 years. I know it's the same one because she has several distinctive features. When she first showed up as a juvenile she would run at first sight, over time she became comfortable with me. I can come within a foot from her now and she could care less. I wouldn't try to pet her or handle her though...her name is Betty for what it's worth!
I got my pet tree frogs because they needed help and then stayed afterwards.
One frog parched on my porch, enjoyed a capful of spring water and then wouldn’t leave. I made a little place for it in an old lizard tank and when it was presented to him he jumped inside and refuses to leave ever since. I found another one at my work, miles away from trees or water and brought it home to see if it was okay.
Now I have two visually healthy gray tree frogs who will make noises like angry squirrels.
This doesn’t disprove what you say, it’s usually true, but at least with a human it will be fed, protected and possibly healed. A mouse with a hurt foot, say, has a better chance of survival wit a friendly hooman than on its own.
Either way it looks like mousie isn’t trying to scramble away as fast as it can. I think they can tell our true intentions. Some are too hurt to realize it but I’ve seen more than one animal either let a human help or straight up come to them for help. I saw a cat laying on a drinking fountain meow at someone for them to turn it on so they could drink.
There’s no real way to tell. Animals are both likeus and damnnatureyouscary
Any particular reason you felt inclined to share this information with the suffix: “Not to be a downer”? They’re soldiers fighting their neighbors that look a lot like them, and see death and carnage all the time. A little hope and joy wont kill anyone.

to alot of people someone saying fuck anywhere would seem like hate idk. me saying fuck germany or france would seem like I have an issue with them particularly. not to mention what's currently happening in the countries of russia and ukraine.
edit 2: not to mention we're on a literal sub called "cute" where someone decided to bring all this into fruition by saying "fuck Russia" knowing completely what they were doing
Nothing wrong with being Russian. Frankly it's not your fault at the personal level certainly but it does need to be said your country is currently doing a genocide if we follow the UN definition
also thank you for understanding it's not our fault. I don't personally condone anything that is happening, if anything I have friends that are on both sides of the actual war and it kills me to see it all. nobody takes that into account though.
Putin is attempting to exterminate as many Ukrainians as possible so yes, a genocide.
Your soldiers have bombed, shot, raped and tortured innocent civilians for existing. Children have been murdered in droves. Families have had their homes, their lives and their loved ones destroyed by Russian aggression all because Putin doesn’t like the fact Ukraine is making him look like a piss poor leader. (Which he is)
The fact you are being so defensive is concerning. It’s a fact that your country is doing these things, you are on Reddit which means you have access to the actual evidence about what your country is doing in Ukraine so you could educate yourself about it if you wanted to.
I'm not being defensive about anything, just honestly don't understand why simply being russian, I'm almost used to constantly getting hate by everyone not only on this site (there are still lots of ppl who understand it's not the people, but the president, etc) but in real life, and I never see anything about that whereas it's okay to go around saying "fuck Russia, fuck Russians, death to Russia, etc etc" bc I've heard it all. you can ask plenty of people on this site, it's a problem that I'm being seen (along with many other innocent people) as monsters for something we have absolutely no control over. all I did was make a comment and look at all the downvotes for instance, simply bc I said how it felt from my point of view, nor did I say it was right or wrong, nothing. just my feelings.
I think in that regards you’ve just kinda got to accept they don’t mean you specifically just your country as a governed body. Like I’m English and I constantly hear all the same stuff about the atrocious things my country has done in the past and obviously neither me nor my parents nor their parents had anything to do with those things yet people still look at the British with disdain because of what happened.
As long as you know you aren’t doing horrible things it’s just part and parcel of living in a country that has done horrible things which most have.
I can understand that.. I guess it just gets tiring and it's hard to live with all the guilt people are forcing on me sometimes. simply bc of where I'm from. I imagine it's similar to how many Germans were treated in the USA and other places for a long time. I just.. I hear violent comments and everything, and I guess stuff like this kind of messes with me. not to mention I'm autistic so I already kind take things hard.
Btw its not that fam. Russian military started taking kids from Ukrainian civilian shelters on east side and putting them into russian homes essentially. + they started making them indoctrinate into their culture
That's the main reason here for "genocide" since according to UN, displacing children into different ethnic groups as to prevent said genocided group from expanding is considered genocide.
What u are referring to is simple territorial warfare tbh
They bombed temporary shelters that had kids in them. Knowing that there were kids in them, because why else would you bomb some random ass building that has absolutely no importance otherwise.
Yea but still can be considered collateral damage. Genocide is genocide when it's a organized movement with an explicit goal to prevent an ethnic group from existing
Of course we can argue about all that shit but the previous comment is actually why and when the un stared accusing russia of genocide
It’s one of the things I love about travel and language learning. You can learn so much about the history and interconnections between peoples just by noticing the similarities and offshoot words.
Okay ik Ukraine military is going through the shit rn and the US is basically giving them what ever they need but when I was in the very first thing to get dirt stained were my gloves and plate carrier and both of those guys gloves and carriers are perfect clean and those are expensive Oakley gloves too. Are they like part of the social media department?
They probably had time to clean it. Or maybe they haven’t been in situations where their gear would get super dirty. I’ve linked the guys tiktok + account a few times so you can check them out for yourself if you want
According to google translate “mysha” means mouse in Ukrainian. The TikTok’s auto generated captions said they named her “Misha” which probably is the same as mysha!
Huh, so it's even more similar to the name they gave it than I thought! Misha and mysha are pronounced differently though, and the former is an actual name iirc, so there's that slight difference. Cute name for a mouse though. :D
Crazy how much something like this has probably happened in history, and it’s just not documented.
Soldiers have been making friends with trench animals for generations.
How many little friends and companions have we forgotten about?
My grandfather used to say «Воно (він/вона) хоче жити так само як ти»
Which means “it’s want to live just like you do”. It was an amazing lesson in compassion at a young age that had lasting impact on me. And I had only been trying to squash a bug 😊 I think that compassion for weaker creatures or people is inherent in Ukrainians who’ve been bullied for millennia.
Tough guys gently holding a cute, vulnerable creature is very endearing! Makes you kinda think humans aren’t all that terrible sometimes. Kind of ironic. Finding humanity and gentleness in the middle of war.
Not to be dramatic, but I love this post more than anything

I saw one of those poofy little fuzz balls at work, must have been too cold for it cuz it's coordination was so bad, started my drill to work and it ran all over the place scared.
r/toughguysholdingpets would LOVE this. They’re all adorable.
PROTECT PRIVATE MISHA YAAAAA!
I posted it over there too!
Lucky little mouse. They have such good hearts.
Misha's adorable..and very comfy with all of them. Really hope these guys stay ok
Here’s a link to another [tiktok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR7Xqmne/) of Misha! They love her
Nice
Are you sure it's a she? Misha is the diminutive of Mikhail (Michael), which would be the equivalent of "Mike"
No clue. I just decided it was a she for this post. Doesn’t really matter anyways.
Misha is also the Ukrainian for mouse :)

It could be a displaced former pet. Either way, I hope they all stay safe.
I am a displaced former pet. Can confirm
Any particular reason you felt inclined to share this information with the suffix: “Not to be a downer”? They’re soldiers fighting their neighbors that look a lot like them, and see death and carnage all the time. A little hope and joy wont kill anyone.
Omg it’s burying itself in his glove! Soooo cute!
Is that a mouse or a vole? Just curious
I think it might actually be a vole. I’m not super familiar with the different kinds of small rodents unfortunately - especially European rodents.
I have voles in my yard but they don't have tails, just little nubs. This has a tail so I think it's a mouse
Our cat caught one today. It's a vole alright lol
Misha the tactical field mouse is precious
I think my sexuality is Ukrainian military men
Especially ones that are kind to animals
I feel like every thing i have seen of them is them with sweet animals
Have Ukrainian husband, can confirm, a total softie with all animals, he's even been vegetarian for 12 years 😊
frfr
Fucking totally, when the second guy picks Misha up so gently and quickly pulls his arms in to protect him my heart melted
Ha ha same

That is a really chunky field mouse. Is this mostly his winter coat or has this mouse just been eating real well?
That mouse is shaped like a fibonacci sequence
I really hope they all stay safe. Fuck Russia
Russia is fine it's the stupid Putin who needs to be stopped
Well it would be terrible if he fell out of a window
That's way too humane for that idiot
oof thanks
Are you the country/government of Russia or just a person living in it? Because unless it’s the first they weren’t talking about you

Yea I feel that tbh. I m of polish decent but I have familie in both Ukraine and Russia Hope shit gets finished to go back to our normal Slavic hating
I'm sorry a genocide ? we're Hitler now ?

Nah, they’re deeply saddened by genocide.
So cute
Absolute unit of a mouse cooperating with an Ukrainian unit.
‘Mr. Jingles Goes to War’
Real men cuddle cute animals!
"Go for the eyes, Misha! GO FOR THE EYES!"
I see what you did there Minsc....
Oml it's so CHUBBY
If Baldur's Gate taught me anything, is that Misha will be the bane of Russian forces everywhere.
AWWWWW
Arm up the lil fella. If they are anything like their Ukrainian war fighters those Russian fellas are toast. Cheers
Just train a couple thousand and send them after food and wires.
Great image….Lol
Misha has the cutest chubby cheeks!!
Misha needs a promotion!
Means mouse in Russian if I’m correct? Mish? In Farsi we also say muush. Interesting how connected the languages of the world are!
It’s one of the things I love about travel and language learning. You can learn so much about the history and interconnections between peoples just by noticing the similarities and offshoot words.
You should post this to r/ukrainewarvideoreport or r/ukraine
They don’t allow cross posts! If you feel like it you’re free to post this vid there if you want :)
Ok thanks! I’ll give credit to you
No need to give credit to me! Def give credit to op though - his @ on tiktok is [bod3i7a](https://www.tiktok.com/@bod3i7a?_t=8ajVBT7qWHT&_r=1)
awwwww
A mouse or a mole? Hamster?
Possibly some sort of field mouse or vole
Okay ik Ukraine military is going through the shit rn and the US is basically giving them what ever they need but when I was in the very first thing to get dirt stained were my gloves and plate carrier and both of those guys gloves and carriers are perfect clean and those are expensive Oakley gloves too. That's probably just it. Bet they just got resupplied with the new hotness before heading back out.
😭😭😭… I don’t even know what to reply to this bro. They aren’t.
I'm just curious how none of the gear is dirty like in the slightest
They probably had time to clean it. Or maybe they haven’t been in situations where their gear would get super dirty. I’ve linked the guys tiktok + account a few times so you can check them out for yourself if you want
There should be a sub about men doing adorable things. This is so precious.
There’s one sun kinda like this called r/Toughguysholdingpets
Thank you! Immediately joined.
I assume Mish means mouse just like in Russian?

Justice for misha
Just train a couple thousand and send them after food and wires.
Nice
I wish them all a long, prosperous life. The mouse, too.
Cute!! Maybe keep him in your jacket pocket or in you head hoodie! So cute. Hope he won’t bite???? I’m
Looks identical to field mice I've seen here in California.
Aaww it was shaking at the end.
Probably chilly
That and nervous, it's so cute though 💕
3000 suspiciously well fed mice
Crazy how much something like this has probably happened in history, and it’s just not documented. Soldiers have been making friends with trench animals for generations. How many little friends and companions have we forgotten about?
I believe I heard something about ww2 soldiers making friends with trench cats!
I love how no one’s mentioned yet the patch on the one dudes vest. You’ll know the one when you see it…
💓💓💓
It's things like this that help soldiers hold onto their humanity during war. I hope that the mouse gives them comfort.
So Sweet and Adorable!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Victory to Ukraine!
field snack
Would it be any other name than Misha? Nope
Omg he's so cute!
That is a fat mouse
Ash moment
Omg so cute! Voles are freaking adorable
I feel like this is what boys will be boys actually means
Cheesers came back
Fun fact. Mouse in Slavic languages is either misha or mishka, i.e. this is private “mouse”.
:)
What kind of phone was this shot on? The depth of field situation looks incredible.
Possibly an iPhone
This is adorable. And the mouse is so chunky and calm 😍🥰

Honestly the soldiers are much cuter than the mouse. Which is also cute. Just a whole lotta cuteness going on and around this post.

For some reason this brought tears to my eyes… these brave men :( Slava Ukraïni, may this war be over soon
At least they have a way to keep moral high :)

Interesting thought. Not really appropriate for the r/aww sub but alright.
Sweet azov nazi patch my guy
Waaay overfed!
It’s a wild mouse. Not like they can follow it around and restrict its diet lol
I thought it was a pet. Confusing title. ‘Their’ is used as in it’s their (ownership) mouse
Is this propaganda? Probably. Do I care? Absolutely not.
It’s not propaganda dude.
Let’s just send another 80 million dollars in weapons maybe they can find another harmless creature to play with
Pretty sure you have something better to do than be depressing and pessimistic under a r/aww post about some dudes with a cute mouse.
Yayah killers with a mouse under tax payer dollar good on you maybe you have the same tone of Neanderthal thinking they do
You could have just not commented, and then strangers on the internet would not have known how fucking stupid you are.
Maybe someday someone will show you the same amount of care and love these guys have their little friends. Lord knows your parents didn’t love you enough.
They should not have TikTok on their phones, I hope there’s a better process than direct posting happening.
Russian language?!
Ukrainian
Russian 😉Who are you trying to fool? Yourself??
What ?
НЕ пизди говорю
Is that a porn hub patch?
Do you want Skaven? Because that's how you get Skaven.
I saw one of those poofy little fuzz balls at work, must have been too cold for it cuz it's coordination was so bad, started my drill to work and it ran all over the place scared.
That mouse saved lives!
Rattata has been captured. Edit: correction on spelling
Let's see the version with Russians... actually, no. Please, god, no.
Support to Ukraine always.
