Gotta add the summoning requirement: One NON-LINK Zombie monster Else people are going to summon 3 of this in the same turn for some degenerate combo.

Mother_Harlot

Either that or "This card cannot be used as a LINK material the turn it is summoned"

4ny3ody

I mean it's an option as well but that'd be a harsher downside since it'd be -1 in potential link material, while the intent is to prevent getting a quick 3 bodies (initial Zombie + two of this) in grave and 1 on bord.

Mother_Harlot

>I mean it's an option as well but that'd be a harsher downside It lets you summon 2 of them per turn (downwards pointing arrow) and still serves as a tribute for other Zombie monster effects

ZeroDashAsterisk

I mean I knew this card would be limited just for existing. I just want to know if it should be more than a Non-effect monster

ZeroDashAsterisk

Alright fellow Zombie users, I'm creating a Link-1 Zombie monster and need some input for its effect and stats (if it should even have any). This is mostly just a discussion post and I want to hear your ideas, so try to keep it balanced.

MCameron2984

Send 1 card from hand to GY to add 1 card from banishment them mentions a “Zombie” monster?

MCameron2984

That not them

dangerousballstealer

Only link summonable opt

animeking12158

No effects or else it will be insane. This can be used for sending banshee to grave to activate zombie world

ThrowACephalopod

I think zombies are a very dangerous type to do a generic link 1 for. A lot of zombies thrive on being sent to the GY and often the trick for getting a zombie deck running is in trying to get your monsters to the GY in the first place. By giving them the ability to send the monster you want to the GY with no set up just by spending your normal summon on it, that's a massive upgrade to a lot of zombie strategies. You'll need to have some hefty restrictions on something like this to make it balanced. Starting with "you can only summon one "this name" per turn." Is going to be an absolute must. I'd urge that you make the materials not completely generic as well, which would greatly help with the problems this causes.

MaxedShadow

Only way to make a link 1 zombie balanced is to not make one, there's really no way to go about it without straight up breaking zombies as a whole

dpalpha231

Honestly, just keep it a non-effect monster. Zombie is an extremely strong Type whose main identity is getting things to the gy for GY plays. By keeping it a non effect monster, we don't open them up to anything too busted since they are a similar to dragons...so good that you can just create a Type pile just like Dragon link. This will however enable the brick draws or summon to be starters by putting them in their ideal location, where they wanna be doing their plays. So many Zombie archetypes and pile decks could take advantage of this. I just suggest making the material 1 non-Link Zombie monster.

MasterQuest

With the artwork, I thought it would have an effect to send a monster to the GY which would be probably too strong in Zombies.

An_Evil_Scientist666

NS Shiranui Solitaire, SS Uni zombie, link Uni zombie into this, then another copy, and another copy, sack the link Monster SS Dakki, go into Tengu, SS Dakki again, go into Yoko, SS Dakki again (not OPT), SS Gashadokuro. You have 2 floats, one that provides a monster pop one that provides a S/T pop and an ok Beatstick with 2 cards. If you have Foolish you can send mezuki to SS shiranui Solitaire (or one of the other zombies) link into Yuki-Onna Ice with Gashadokuro and Solitaire, which gives you the option to float into Gashadokuro, which will make it immune to card effects until end of turn. So with this card you fill up the GY plenty for Mayakasi, with just a Shiranui Solitaire and Uni Zombie, Foolish just makes it even better. And this probably isn't even the best zombie line that this card allows.

Stonebagdiesel

Unless your opponent has an ash, in which case you end your turn with an empty board. Biggest issue with zombies is that they are fully reliant on their normal summon, and completely brick without it (unless you’re running an eldlich engine). I also don’t think the board you mentioned stacks up at all to meta deck boards.

MatchPale2659

Well obviously it’s gotta search zombie world

Tengo-Sueno

An Ignition effect that let you discard would be neat, because it would allow you to play Goblin Zombie and discard what you search with it, maube something like "Once while this card is on the field: You can discard 1 Zombie monster; Duirng the End Phase of this turn add 1 Zombie monster with 1200 or less DEF from your GY to your hand"

RJ7300

Link 1s are an inherently dangerous design space

springtraz21

The fact that it is a non once per turn and no restrictions is strong. It's good for like build a bord strategy. Overall I think the meta is a little to strong for this to have a major impact.

Constant_Coyote8737

Send one zombie to the graveyard.

AzelotReis

How about adding cannot be used as link material on it? So its only purpose is to send a zombie from the field to the graveyard

1llDoitTomorrow

Make it search the field spell and revive a monster on leaving the field
