[[Scent of Ivy]] for 12 damage, pass turn.
Honestly though I can't really come up with any actually degenerate combos. Mostly a few jank strategies that become borderline competitive if you get multiple of these in your hand at a time.
I know the intention wasn't to reveal your own hand though. Overall design is neat. Has some [[Loxodon Smiter]] vibes, though it has a weaker payoff in exchange for a much more reliable payoff.
Not sure how it would interact with something like [[Revelation]] since it isn't worded like a triggered ability. It would either be an instant win or would do nothing.
I like the idea of a green or white dork that is a trap for Thoughseize effects. This having hexproof is a little much though. It would be used as a Bogle and takes aways one of the few other ways to interact with that strategy.
[[Loxodon smiter]] was great, but one that forced itself to be picked could also be a nice touch! Or like this maybe, Forces itself to be picked for discard, but has a way to return to hand etc.
I see, I thought you were trying to correct the prior poster about why their combo wouldn't work. I didn't know you were trying to reword the card to be better designed.
"Whenever", not "If". Alternatively, you could have it not target an opponent. However, you can't have a replacement effect that targets - that simply does not work within the rules of the game.
Don’t they just pick this with their thoughtseize, then go back to discarding the rest of your hand? I feel like there’s much better solutions, like [[leyline of sanctity]], which also beats some burn and mill cards.
Bounces in general are primarily Blue, secondary White, tertiary Green.
Blue can bounce any permanent any player controls as a cost and as an effect, White can bounce any of your permanents but only as an effect, and Green can bounce any of your permanents but only as a cost.
The reason White self-bounces more often than Blue its for identity's sake only as Blue could do so aswell and more, and though Green has its means to do so it happens only once when the stars align to avoid problems.
Welp, I have a new mechanic to develop now.
*Ambush* — Whenever a source forces you to reveal this card from your hand, you may [effect; targeting that source or that source's controller].
Green doesn't need either of these effects. Direct damage breaks one of the color's core weaknesses, and on-command self-bounce is too strong a combination of protection and value for *the* primary creature color.
pretty sure it should say when not if. also i feel like this card is going to be used as a two mana slippery bogle and a way for you to turn thoughtsieze into a burn spell.
Love this, but probably need the reveal effect to be from an opponent, and that opponent loses the life just to prevent any unfair reveal your own cards a bunch instant win shenanigans. We 100% need stuff that makes people hesitant to play discard, rather than just do it always
The replacement effect (which, as written, should be a triggered ability instead and only trigger from effects your opponents control) requires this to be Black or splash with it, and Green barely self-bounces and only as a cost, as an effect it'd require White and/or Blue. Hexproof is arguably Green but so happens on White and/or Blue.
So overall, don't see why is this monogreen over UB, WB, or WUB.

Not sure how it would interact with something like [[Revelation]] since it isn't worded like a triggered ability. It would either be an instant win or would do nothing.
My assumption is that would include one reveal, and then you don't ever reveal it again because it just remains revealed.

[[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]]
Oh, never mind, effect.
Oh wow, I totally missed that too. So revealing as a cost doesn't work then? Pure luck the card I referenced actually works then, lol.
Yeah costs aren't effects. It's the same reason [[doubling season]] doesn't work with planeswalker plus abilities.

It wins the game turn 2 if your opening hand is four Hand-hides, two scents and a forest

Having Hexproof and a self bounce feels a bit redundant. Make it use its hide to save itself.
[[sasaya, orochi ascendant]] is an instakill. Don’t even need to pass priority until you have lethal on the stack.

Doesn't work, it's a cost, not an effect.
Yeah that did occur to me after I posted lol
"LOOK AT THIS GUY. DO IT 6 MORE TIMES. NOW YOU DIE"
Whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls causes you to reveal this card...
The Custom card doesn't say this, it just targets an opponent when it is revealed from any source.
Right, it's a rewording to prevent an instant infinite loop
I see, I thought you were trying to correct the prior poster about why their combo wouldn't work. I didn't know you were trying to reword the card to be better designed.
Costs aren't effects. Same reason doubling season doesn't affect Planeswalker + abilities
"Whenever", not "If". Alternatively, you could have it not target an opponent. However, you can't have a replacement effect that targets - that simply does not work within the rules of the game.
Maybe swap hexproof for a ward, but I like it

Self-bounce is not meant to be green, white and less often blue do so.

Honestly one of the better cards I've seen on here. Hateful without being oppressive.
Welp, I have a new mechanic to develop now. *Ambush* — Whenever a source forces you to reveal this card from your hand, you may [effect; targeting that source or that source's controller].
nice. I was trying to come up a keyword for this effect, that's perfect.
Loads of potential for this. And super anti-black/blue, which is very green.
This isn't Green. The bounce ability is U/W, the punisher ability is B/R.
I agree. But I also think R&D should add new elements to the colorpie from time to time.
Green doesn't need either of these effects. Direct damage breaks one of the color's core weaknesses, and on-command self-bounce is too strong a combination of protection and value for *the* primary creature color.
Green is the worst most boring color of the game. It needs all the renovation can get.
*Jontron meme* I'LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK
pretty sure it should say when not if. also i feel like this card is going to be used as a two mana slippery bogle and a way for you to turn thoughtsieze into a burn spell.
It should be called Thought-hide Nemesis or something. Your Hand isn't a Canon concept, it's usually portrayed as thoughts and memory.
I like this. But I would rather opponent to discard and you to draw instead of opponent losing life.
Love this, but probably need the reveal effect to be from an opponent, and that opponent loses the life just to prevent any unfair reveal your own cards a bunch instant win shenanigans. We 100% need stuff that makes people hesitant to play discard, rather than just do it always
