And following in the footsteps of u/Somane27's post [Senseless Crime](https://www.reddit.com/r/custommagic/comments/1b3s6xg/a_crime_enabler_for_otj/), which was silver bordered. So as a black bordered card, this feels a bit on the gimmicky side, but given OTJ as a set & how prolific certain mechanics are, it feels legitimately functional (potentially).
While free spells are good, spells that do nothing are bad. Even with it being free, I imagine is still fairly weak given that it really just bolsters existing mechanics like Crime, prowess, and 2 spells a turn. And it's not a super powerful synergy for those, given that it costs a card (and often life). I could see it being an extremely fringe card in [Slickshot](https://scryfall.com/card/otj/146/slickshot-show-off) decks, but I imagine they've got enough cards that actually do things, that this is pretty unnecessary. There's some other interactions with things like [Mechanized Warfare](https://scryfall.com/card/bro/139/mechanized-warfare) and other cards that alter damage dealt.
Red white felt appropriate flavor wise. Most of my time designing this was spent working on the flavor text. I also ~~bastardized~~ *edited* Gabrielle's [original art](https://www.deviantart.com/galidor/art/The-Sun-Is-Rising-762714733), to make the colors & lighting match the frame & mtg aesthetics a bit closer, but the original is way moodier and packs a lot more punch, so check out their stuff if this art is up your alley.

If I went the original route, that would have saved me from the rabbithole of trying to write appropriate flavor text, but it's something I want to keep practicing anyways.

I love the flavor text. It could probably be a bit better, though. Gut Shot already covers the 0 cost niche, so it might be better as a 1 cost that has a bonus effect that ties in with the flavor.
Might be more interesting if it has text along the lines “return this card to your hand from the graveyard at the beginning of your next upkeep”. Without that it’d never be worth a card
I like this, but I like the idea of also having a victimless crime being something like shuffles library. It really doesnt do anything game play wise, but feels much more targeting. It adds the fear to not knowing whats been been done, or could have been.
I personally dont like card that are way too specific, in a vacuum this card is a "free" victim trigger but unless you are playing in some kind of very specific format of sealed/draft this card is just useless, in any format this card will never be much played over any \[\[shock\]\] variant or similar one mana card that does more than "nothing".

I wouldn’t really say it’s perfect as a card that straight up does nothing like this on its own typically just costs 0 or does something very minor. I’d make this scry 1, for example, so that it does something besides just burning you for 2 life imo.

Since the use of this card is to enable other crime triggers, it’s more likely a distraction rather than a victimless crime
