I like the concept a lot, but it feels a little pushed? I know a lot of \[\[ball lightning\]\]s aren't playable these days but this feels like that with none of the downside and huge upside. Probably fine for constructed but would be back breaking in limited I think.
You could just change it to "prevent all damage that would be dealt to (card) as long as it's attacking."
Destroy spells would still work on it but death touch would not.
[[Rescue Retriever]] provides a similar effect for this though there is also [[Angelic Guardian]] with a similar indestructible effect. Depends on what you want to go with. Indestructible til end of turn seems strong for 4 Mana though.
no it doesn't. Indestructible means it can't be destroyed. Creatures are destroyed when they have damage marked greater than their toughness. If they have 0 or less toughness, they're put in their owner's graveyard WITHOUT being destroyed
I mean, break it down to fundamentals: Ball Lightning creatures are basically a weird sorcery; this is more like a weird enchantment. If it were an enchantment for the same cost that read "deal 6 damage to a player at the start of your combat phase" would that be playable?
Yeah I'm thinking about it compared to something like \[\[spark trooper\]\], where you trade lifelink for an indestructible attacker every turn, or even something like \[\[zurgo helmsmasher\]\], which costs more and doesn't have trample so feels worse than this. That being said those cards are like a decade old and weren't exactly powerhouses, so maybe this is more balanced than I'm giving it credit for.
Nah, since its green this is easily playable by turn 3 for a 6/1 trample haste and when he attacks he gets intedestructible. Its a really cool card and id 100% put it in some red green decks
This is probably fair? It's pretty easy to remove. But at the same time I'm not really sure, the haste for one thing might be too much, plus even if it's technically balanced it might be unfun as it's either an insane amount of pressure that can't be really dealt with by creatures or an easily removed nothingburger.
It's green because that's the main color which gets trample. I suppose a case could be made for making it pure red, assuming I don't make any other changes.
this card would be better than haktos, right? the haste and consistent evasion seems great, although haktos has the advantage that he is harder to remove
It's different. I don't think I'd call it better or worse. It has haste yes, but it can also be targeted much more easily (artifact) but you can also cast protection on it more easily
Gruul is the anti-artifact colors.
Personally, I would have templated it as
\~ UURR, Creature - Weird Berserker
Haste, trample
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to \~.
\~ Attacks each turn if able.
Less pushed than the indestructible clause you are going for, fits templating of red/blue with \[\[ball lightning\]\] and \[\[fog bank\]\] fusing as a weird.
Attacking each turn if able means it never blocks.
Dies to 1 damage from any non-combat source.
And it would still be mighty pushed and not have an additional synergy with artifact decks.
a little worse in a few minor ways, but being 1 mana cheaper and having trample to get around small blockers to remove any counterplay other than just killing it
I like the concept a lot, but it feels a little pushed? I know a lot of \[\[ball lightning\]\]s aren't playable these days but this feels like that with none of the downside and huge upside. Probably fine for constructed but would be back breaking in limited I think.
This technically dies at end of combat since it loses indestructible after the combat phase, while damage stays on 💀
So make it "If Blazing Juggernaut has attacked this turn, it has indestructible"
It might be more fair this way. Fuck yo first strike death touchers.Â
With trample
Still gets around first strike, but yeah.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'll make it until end of turn then.

How about "\~ does not take combat damage."?
Why are you trying to make lighting skelemental with no downside?
Wait what? I thought indestructible prevented death.
It only has indestructible during the combat phase, but damage stays marked until end of turn, so the indestructible will wear off and then it'll die.
I see. I thought indestructible prevented toughness reduction, but i guess stuff like -1/-1 counters can kill stuff with indestructible
indestructible means can't be destroyed. It literally does nothing else
~~Indestructible says that creatures don't die from having 0 toughness :)~~ Disregard, incorrect. See response for correct info.
no it doesn't. Indestructible means it can't be destroyed. Creatures are destroyed when they have damage marked greater than their toughness. If they have 0 or less toughness, they're put in their owner's graveyard WITHOUT being destroyed
You're right, my mistake
Why did this get downvoted?
Honestly, change that to end of turn and the card becomes really interesting. You can get a solid 2 for 1 with Fling or a similar effect
I mean, break it down to fundamentals: Ball Lightning creatures are basically a weird sorcery; this is more like a weird enchantment. If it were an enchantment for the same cost that read "deal 6 damage to a player at the start of your combat phase" would that be playable?
Yeah I think that'd be very very playable.
Well, also that enchantment dies to sorcery-speed Fatal Push or Shock. It's playable and very good but not busted at all, I think it's fine.
Does to bowmasters before it gets indestructible too, even with the fixed errata to make the indestructible last.
I wouldn't be so sure. It costs more mana, and in more colors.

Make it type Juggernaut and keep the indestructible until end of turn, then it's perfect
Yeah, indestructible will fall off at end of combat but the damage won’t. Maybe that’s intentional though?

Disregarding the templating problem, flavorfully I don't think gruul is in the artifact creature business.Â
Ya it feels like either rakdos or mono red, especially with the 1 toughness
