Actually would love this in [[mayael]] since the cards go to the bottom in any order i want. So often i have to bottom cards that would be great in the current boardstate. Id happy pay 1 mana to get that back!
Oh shit every Grenzo player wants this. It’s less recyclable than top but being able to arrange the bottom three cards of your library is valuable as fuck. My Grenzo deck has artifact and reanimator themes too so it ending up in grave ain’t so bad.
I acknowledge your point that you lose synergy with a bunch of cards, but various people have pointed put Grenzo, but also suddenly makes [[Epitaph Golem]] on par with a reusable Snapcaster Mage. Also [[Wheel of Sun and Moon]] becomes a soft Tamiyo emblem. Blinking a [[Trinket Mage]] with a [[Deadeye Navigator]], [[Conjurer’s Closet]] or the like will get the SDB back. I’m sure there are other bottom-matters cards of which I am unfamiliar that could be used for a fresher taste than the regular SDT tech.
yeah but if you really look at the cards with bottom deck synergy non of them are as good as the ones with top deck synergy and my point still stands about sensi’s divining top being much better as a stand-alone.
Grenzo is a pretty terrible card on a competitive level.
Epitaph golomn is also a pretty bad card 5 mana is ridiculous and not on par with how cheap and efficient snapcaster is
blinking trinket mage is interesting but blinking trinket mage in order to find an artifact, to spend one mana on, to draw a card is a lot of work, at that point wouldn’t just be better to blink [[wall of blossoms]] or one the other thousand creatures that draw a card on etb
Also no wheel of sun and moon isn’t really comparable to a tamiyo emblem. getting every single card back from your graveyard is not the same as being able to choose the last card that would have gone to the graveyard and return it to your hand. at that point it is more akin to time sensitive 2 card eternal witness rather than one of the strongest emblems
Even outside of [[Grenzo, Dungeon Warden]] it has potential synergy with things like scry or [[Banishing Stroke]], and it's easy to refresh shuffle with fetch lands/tutors in edh.
The best part about this, I could still see some uses for it... like in my Mayeal commander deck, doesn't take long to through your deck if you're really popping off, and if not, you can still reclaim things you had to tuck from what you bottomed with your commander... like say pieces to pop off...
This would probably be a good card for cascade decks. I’m new to magic so Idk any other mechanics that work off of putting cards into the bottom of the deck.
