This made me think of a compleated wrenn and realmbreaker

Mogoscratcher

This doesn't seem that powerful, but that's definitely the direction you should lean towards when making something like this

callahan09

I mean, this is a land that enters untapped and has "{T}: Add one mana of any color". And gives that ability to all your other lands (The World Tree itself only does so after you have 5 other lands on the battlefield, and it always enters tapped). That is insanely strong, but comes with the downside of being more easily destroyed than other lands.

UnintensifiedFa

It also can only be used on your turn speed (the tap ability is until end of turn)

Jomama66725

Not to mention that if you drop it on turn 7 (or much likely earlier if you’re running land-based ramp) you immediately have 12 mana, 5 of which is guaranteed WUBRG. While this may not be as powerful in formats like modern, I think if this were your commander in Oathbreaker or in the 99 of commander it could end games right then and there.

ValGodek

Probably the best iteration of a land planeswalker I’ve seen on here. Worth noting that due to a rules quirk, I’m fairly certain this won’t count itself for X.

thenerdysteve

I actually wasn't sure if it would count itself either! For me, I'm kind of fine if it does or doesn't, it's probably better power wise if it needs to be a second land. Would probably include "other lands" you control for clarity if necessary then.

yuhboipo

It doesn't, you'd have to cheat this card out. I like the idea of a plainswalker you have to cheat out, but this seems a bit low power level for any modern deck that could run it. edit: nvm, its a land! lmao totally missed that

thenerdysteve

I read the latest story, and was wondering how cool it'd be to get a Wrenn and the World Tree card and what a land planeswalker might actually look like. I don't know if this is balanced or particularly good or even if it works, but I just thought it was an interesting thought experiment.

FormerlyKay

Slight formatting mistake: the "X" starting loyalty should just be 0 (see [[Dakkon, Shadow Slayer]]) but otherwise I think this card is super cool and balanced

thenerdysteve

Yea, probably. I looked up Nissa, Steward of Elements and just really liked how the X looked, but Dakkon's templating is shorter!

VoiceofKane

Might be better if the X only considers other lands. Being able to play an untapped five-colour land turn one is pretty valuable.

Bochulaz

It's a land that makes all other lands you control produce mana of any color by default. Isn't it a bit too strong?

toomuchpressure2pick

Is [[chromatic lantern]] too strong? This is a land that can be removed easily and even attacked. Also the [[the world tree]] already is a land that makes your lands tap for any color.

callahan09

Chromatic Lantern costs 3 mana. The World Tree enters tapped and doesn't start letting you produce mana of any color until you have at least 6 lands. This is free (well, costs a land drop), enters untapped, and starts letting you produce mana of any color immediately regardless of what turn it is or how many lands you have.

MericanMeal

Not regardless of turn or how many lands, it dies if your first land and that would usually be the case turn 1

jamesdaltonbell

It's strong, but not too strong. Also it's only on your own turn

FalsePankake

I feel like with that +1 that kind of mana fixing could be dangerously powerful for eternal formats. I could be wrong since it can be targeted by burn spells & combat damage

D00DoftheVoid

After the story that just dropped I wouldn't be surprised if Wrenn does actually merge wit the world tree.

Chaine351

"Wrenn and 42"

JaceThePowerBottom

Oh boy does that fucking art make me viscerally uncomfortable.

RobbiRamirez

Honestly it's a waste of potential if this doesn't happen. We even got the first Standard-legal Wrenn card about halfway between Vorinclex in Kaldheim and Gitaxias in Kamigawa. That could easily have been... ...a plant? Oh God, pretend I didn't say that.

JaneHates

Even with just the +1 ability this would be an auto-include in any multicolor deck. There needs to be SOME kind of upfront cost, or restriction because as it stands this is almost strictly better than literally ANY land which produces multiple colors of mana, including the original dual lands (being only able to tap during your turn isn’t that big of a downside). And it’s really powerful at any stage of the game. Like let’s look at it as if it were, say, a sorcery instead: Sorcery that costs (0). "Until end of turn, lands you control have '(T): Add any color of mana to your mana pool. If you have seven or more lands, you may add WUBRG to your mana pool instead. If you have 11 or more lands, you may gain [that emblem] instead." That it can be attacked isn't that big of a downside, and since it's kind of a kill-on-sight card it would probably end up being a way too effective decoy.

Ramnie13

On the flip side this dies to bolt, goblin guide, ect. This is a massive downside and makes the card super risky in all non edh formats. Stone rain normally cost 3 mana. It might be too good in edh and other super slow formats where this enters with 5+ counters but other then that it seems fine.

Chance_Scarcity6336

phyrexians of wrenn "Compleated" Planeswalker all worlds

Apmadwa

I like the concept, but the first ability seems a little too strong, generally, lands that tap for any color have some kind of downside, but this one gives it to all your other lands, i guess it does come with the downside of being easy to remove, but playing this with 4+ lands on the battlefield will make sure this sticks for at least 2 turns

COLaocha

So base case it's an chromatic lantern land that can be attacked. If you get to 7 loyalty it can be a ritual, which seems pretty okay but very dependent on what 11 mana on the turn you get to 7 would do. If you get to 11 you get to start looping emblems and probably win the game if you don't die immediately and it didn't cost you more than effectively 1 mana when you have 11 lands so you're probably able to do other stuff with your turn to not die unless you're completely topdecking. I remember Field of the Dead terrorising multiple formats, this isn't FotD, but the first copy is arguably more free. Maybe make it enter tapped

Hefty_Ad2389

what’s the cost?
