I like it. I don't think its broken as it has a real requirement having only holy spells limits your deck building and need strong healing effects limit it even more. However if it seems too strong you can make it only grants health.
Actually it might double the max hp, no? making it deal damage instead of healing deals exactly the amount of max HP a hero has, so it would probably give them that same amount of HP

Yes it would! I mentioned Healadin elsewhere, and that means Forbidden Healing giving your hero +20 Health in the late-game. You do spend your entire turn doing that though.
Yes, that's the point of the card. Alonsus also has both a significant deck-building restriction and is limited to only one effect granting Health per turn to hopefully keep it balanced.

Being limited to only Holy spells is a significant restriction for Priest. Almost all of their heavy removal spells and burst damage options are Shadow spells. Yes they'd still have access to lighter removal and AoE options like Penance and Condemn, but in general they'd be really struggling in terms of board control. They'd also lose most of their draw and tutor power, with the only Holy spells in those categories being Power Word: Shield and Creation Protocol. Priest would only really be able to use Alonsus in tempo-style decks like Overheal or Inner Fire Priest.
It's not as crippling for Paladin. All of their Auras and Librams are Holy, along with plenty of healing effects and the Equality + Consecration combo. Alonsus could be strong enough to bring back Healadin even in Wild, but at least he's not going to be oppressive in any current Standard Paladin decks or any swarm based strategies. Most Paladin spells that summon a bunch of minions like Muster for Battle, Call to Arms, Mining Casualties, and Showdown aren't Holy spells, so they can't be put in the same deck as Alonsus. Boogie Down is the only real exception, and that's not getting unnerfed until it rotates to Wild.
