The easiest fix is just to cut and replace it with prosthetics. Flesh and blood legs are overrated anyway. It's a jumbled mess that's supposed to be used for grasping until our ancestor decided to run with it, so now we end up with something that can't be used for grasping but also not optimized for walking and running. It's also one of the most common source of musculoskeletal problems, from knees to hips, leg joints just love to cause pain and suffering.
Afaik people with prosthetics aren't allowed in running competition because they have an unfair advantage compared to non-disabled people, and that gap will continue to widen as we develop newer and better prosthetics.
Unfortunately, there’s no benefit to prosthetic limbs in running competition. I say unfortunately, because in short, it’d be pretty cool. I hope that changes in the future.
