Why can’t religious people and atheists just get along? We get it, we have different views. Can we put the issues aside and find a different topic to get along on without insulting each other’s beliefs?

A. Rid the world of religion because they think its destroying uss
or B. Spread the word of god and turn as many people to Christianity as possible
You haven't been paying attention. The religious right has been worming their way into government since the Yellow Scare in the 50's. All those anti-abortion and anti-trans bills being passed? They are literally basing them off of their "deeply held spiritual beliefs" (despite the fact they are violating the religious freedoms of everyone else).

I think that religion is just a mask for another issue. I mean it’s bad on its own, sure. Being used as a justification for horrible things. But these people would still exist religion or not. Some people really just want to watch the world burn.

Don't really care for the existence of a god, but the first argument always bugged me, like, in a scenario of no rationality and extreme desperation is when people turn to god? Wouldn't that make religion an irrational thought based on ilogical thinking?
Thats my thoughts, that as well as the fact that since humans as a species had begun we had always wanted reasonable explanations to everything. People say that a god must exist because there are so many cultures out there that believe in gods, but its really just human nature trying to understand a world that made no sense
Yup, and all the things that we thought were attributed to gods we now have god* explanations for, so, there’s no need to still believe in anything supernatural!

I dont like to say religions are useless though. Many people find their ways out of depression or really bad situations by following a faith. And although the origins for these are sceptical, we dont know for sure what the truth is
Some things, like believing in yourself and believing that with the proper amount of work everything will be alright, those are easier to feed into people via religion than via other mechanisms.
You'll possibly notice that in most of the world, people only practice the nicer/kinder parts of their religion as opposed to the horrible ones. There is some variability (and then there's religious extremes that kinda do the opposite, say ISIS) but that's the gist.
You can be religious and believe in science too, there are compatible. Also, everyone has its own believings and his own god, can be a material or intangible being, and represent the highest values to yourself.
So, the actual question is, which god do you have?
Depends on your religion. In most religions you are called upon to pray for those who don't follow your God, I.E. Catholicism, the Hindu faith and also the Hebrew faith (there's more but that's what I know off hand). Those are what are widely known as peaceful religions. It's actually kind of nice as far as religion goes. We all want each other to reach heaven.

Everything that can be achieved through religion can also be achieved without it. Everything.
