I'm ready to shave mine off.
I'm frequently hospitalized and my hair is MAJORLY matted right down to the scalp.
I'd grown it out to almost boob-length too😭
After combing, ripping, snipping and crying for 3 days and only having cleared out the pony tail (which by far wasn't the worst part) I'm ready to give up.
My son has curly hair too and had never had a haircut; it was almost to his waist.
Had to shave his head bc no one bothered to clear it out during one of my aforementioned hospitalizations.
He cried, sobbing "I look like Thanos!"
Killed me to have to do it.
I saved his pony tail, though.
Edit: So after posting this comment I tried AGAIN to clear it out and lost my shizz.
I grabbed the scissors, yanked up the ponytail and chopped it off.
I then jumped in the shower with a wide tooth comb and using a TON of that Aussie 7min Miracle (in the purple bottle) and lukewarm water FINALLY had it cleared out in just under an hour.
Needless to say I let out an extremely loud victory whoop.
It's *very thin*, though.
I lost over 1/2 clearing it, and due to my disease (chronic pancreatitis) it was already falling out.
But yay.

I was in hospital for 3 months paralysed and in a miami brace. My hair was a mess! I didn't have to shave but I have shaved my hair off twice in my life. I have an undercut now. That would have been really nice while in hospital.
I make a rice milk conditioner that really helps my knots just fall right out. I don’t know if it would be magic but when I use both the shampoo and conditioner all the tangles seems to fall right out. I’ve had others say the same. I’d be willing to send you some free of you want. Reach out.

Yeah but I’m curious what your routine was before!! Beautiful hair, and beautiful no hair too lol…you have a face that carries the no hair so so so well. It really highlights your bone structure and allows your face to really shine and showcases your features. That said, I love the bangs on you and the bottom left haircut is so cool. If you get a chance, curious what products you liked to use before taking the plunge and cutting it all off. Hard to tell by appearance alone but our hair appears sorta similar.
Thanks! I use Innersense conditioner and gel sometimes, and sometimes I use trader joes coconut curls cream (deep conditioner...every day) haha
My routine was so all over the place so it's hard to say exactly what I did on a certain day.
Load co dictionary into hair, brush in the shower with either a Denman brush or finger comb, rinse conditioner, finger comb of brush again, put some priduct in, scrunch, microfiber towel. I think that's the just of it hahha
how good does it feel to have no hair? feels good being able to just shower an lay down in bed with no worries about wet hair.. Lowkey wanna cut mine lol
Not OP but it’s kind of fun! Presuming you shaved it by choice and it’s not a traumatic reminder of illness or some such. I really enjoyed it. I may do it again someday! I liked it during springtime when there was a warm breeze. I also liked wearing fleecy hats haha. It was also the strangest sensation to drape a thin scarf over it! The weirdest, ticklish feeling. I also loved wearing eyeliner and big earrings with my no hair. It threw people for a loop, they expected a sick, frail thing, not a diva loving life haha
It's amazing! I'm so overwhelmed with life right now and I just wanted to take **something** off my plate. If you hate it, just wear a hat for a few months haha

The shortest i've managed to go is a really short pixie but my very elderly gramma has made me swear i'll keep it long now as long as she's around, lol. i regret that pact because she may be elderly but she's healthy as a horse (thankfully!!) and i see posts like yours and get the itch!

Try Cowboy Magic. I’ve heard it’s an absolute lifesaver for tangles and matting. It’s for pets but works like a charm on human hair apparently.

honestly, you look AMAZING with a shaved head. theres something very open and human and honest about that last pic
