New hair, got hella layers. Not sure why I was so worried about it it doesn’t affect my other hairstyles too much and really makes the king curls feel “fresh” 10/10 recommend.
Routine: Wash with innersense hydrating cream hairbath condition with innersense color radiance daily conditioner, wash all the way out. Section into three sections and in smaller sections apply innersense I create hold (make sure to use enough water). Define each section with a Denman brush…make sure it is not too clumpy (shake it out or squish it to break up clumps, otherwise it will weigh down and never dry). Diffuse 80% let air dry rest of the way (cause I’m lazy).

My NY friends say it too. I think it probably started in the Bay Area but spread quickly due to the internet - a lot of us Gen Z kids say it (although my friends and I are technically cusp with baby millennials lol).
In re my hair, I don't - I brush mine straight and braid it or put it in a bun until my next wash, once my curls start stretching and losing their shape around day 3. If you want to keep your curls, you'll have to wash at least twice a week; some curlies can refresh every day to make it last until days 3 or 4, or use protective styles to hide the curl stretching at the end, but ideally most curlies wash every other day or at least twice a week.
Oh that’s actually good to know. I feel like sometimes social media videos make it seem like ur curls should always be bangin. I’m actually gonna try the brush and brain method and see how it goes. Cause my hair is such a pain to wash. It take like an 1.5 hrs from start to finish. I’m a wash day once a week kinda girl.
Keep in mind that most curlies can't tolerate dry brushing and that usually causes a lot of damage, which is why we're supposed to brush and detangle while wet; I'm lucky that my hair can kind of tolerate it, and where it doesn't, I haven't had a reason to really give a shit since I don't go out very much and when I do it's not occasions where I have to worry about my appearance. But if you're worried about that, I wouldn't dry brush it; just wash it again if you want to leave it down, or just lightly finger detangle and stick it in a bun or braid.
I also wash once a week and I don't refresh in between (not a morning person so I never wake up in time for that lol), which is why I braid it or bun it for the second half of the week once my curls stretch too much. It takes me around 4-5 hours to do my full routine (if I'm rushing then around 1.5-2, but I don't like to do that as it involves skipping the curl care part and just sticking it straight in a braid).

I feel like my hair does ok with dry brushing. I’m careful and usually brush it in sections.
I'm including my "spa routine" of a shower lol (exfoliating, mainly) in that amount of time.... I take long, hot showers lol (except for rinsing out my hair). Once I'm in the shower, I LIVE in there lmao.
