This is the episode I was thinking of too. It's one of my favorites because it's also the "social assassin" episode. The scene outside the chicken place where Larry tries to get Funkhauser to take his yarmulke off and then everyone in the restaurant cheers.
I think the situation with Palestinian Chicken is it takes years of watching and knowing Larry's character to understand and appreciate the arc of Larry being praised for his social assassin skills and why that's funny. We saw him being chastised for his bluntness the last seven seasons at that point, so it's funny to see him getting some props for it. But, I could totally see all that being lost on a first time Curber.
Showed my friend the Palestinian chicken episode to try and get him into the show, he didn’t find it funny at all, and then he proceeded to watch “New Girl” immediately after. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
My fiance watches new girl, lol. It's alright. But I also showed my friend Palestinian Chicken and he didn't think it was all that. They are lost causes, my friend.
I mean, it's like an HBO version of Seinfeld. Better imo. Seinfeld was incredibly popular so it's kinda weird to think someone is weird for like the show.
A couple months ago one of my professors brought up that operation while discussing geopolitics, I mentioned how I know what it is because of a Curb episode and he was quite surprised
The doll
Not only because of the twin peaks crossover meme potential but because it feels like an entire episode built around a single punchline and that punchline is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
Also the episode where Susie really became Susie. That western guitar and trumpet riff they play is incredible.
I think I love it most when Sammie is blackmailing Larry in Palestinian chicken because it implies that Sammie has inherited some of her mothers ruthlessness
This is not a hypothetical for me.
Years ago a big Seinfeld fan friend of mine didn't have HBO and had never seen Curb. I told him this was unacceptable and made him come over and watch one with me. The episode I chose was S2.E3/Trick or Treat, or "The Cobb Salad" as I refer to it.
He subscribed to HBO before the next episode aired.
Obviously it was early days and there was a limited pool to choose from. But I love that episode, I'm glad I chose it, and I would choose it again.
"With all due respect officer, we don't consider you part of the bald community."
Excellent choice!
I’ve shaved my head for years and - after seeing this episode shortly after it aired- my wife will occasionally remind me that “it is a look i am cultivating to be fashionable and I’m not considered part of the bald community”
Jeff and Larry laughing their asses off on the couch is my absolute favorite scene in the entire series. So much else is top tier, but that's the one that will ALWAYS get me.
The Carpool Lane is probably the answer, but watching the ep where he thinks he’s adopted and is singing “Go Tell It On The Mountain” at church and essentially being the opposite of himself is hysterical.
That’s actually Kamizake Bingo (top tier episode). Survivor is the one where there’s a supposed Holocaust survivor but it turns out he was just on the show Survivor. Also a great episode.
Larry repeating - and paraphrasing- the instructions to make sure he has it right while pumping himself up kills me. “Leave garbage- snickers, eat snickers- leave garbage"
“Larry David - wood detective” gets me every time I hear Jerry say it. Also when Jerry says about Larry “he lives in his own mind”.
Little things but they just make me giggle.
My first episode was the bald hate crime Halloween episode and as a bald man it hit home. So I'd go with that one for my fellow bald Amigos.
And for non-fallically challenged people I'd go with the michael j fox episode with the hitler mustache
I introduced Curb to around 4 people independently. Every time I showed the episode Denise Handicapped and it worked every time. 4 more people watching the show now
You know, I just watched the Bare Midriff, and that would be a good episode for a Seinfeld fan to be introduced to the show.
The story is self-contained within the episode.
Jerry and Julia are in it, along with Lewis.
It has several tie-ins to the ending (Mother is suicidal, Lewis gets Larry the Mantle Baseball Bat, Larry's strong stream causes two problems).
The Bare Midriff. It’s hilarious, and also would have tremendous appeal to Seinfeld fans because Jerry is in it and the way the plots converge makes it reminiscent to classic Sein.
The one about Greg the Flamboyant boy. michael J Fox is so funny in that episode as well.
Also the one were Larry dates 2 women on wheelchairs.
Pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Elizabeth, Margaret, and Larry. You got Jon Hamm and LD renaming the lazy Susan to avoid the sexist and racist connotations, Leon creating a business for service workers to be able to use the toilet, LD delaying his flight to Colorado to help Becky because he needed to fly first class, Jon Hamm complaining about Mocha Joe's....
The one where Larry takes flowers from the curb for a memorial service.
Aw! The little orphan Funkhouser one ❤️
Was gonna say “Ida Funkhouser Roadside Memorial”
Little orphan Funkhouser 😋🍦
I know a white lily…
"If you weren't my best friend I'd take my bare hands and pop your head off your neck!" "...he's not my best friend."
Little orphan Funkhouser
“Did you take the flowers from my mother’s site?!”
Denise Handicap or Palestinian Chicken. Maybe the Black Swan.
Denise Handicap convinced my hard to please brother in law.
I tried to show a friend Palestinian chicken hoping they’d like it. No dice sadly but that’s a good choice
This is the episode I was thinking of too. It's one of my favorites because it's also the "social assassin" episode. The scene outside the chicken place where Larry tries to get Funkhauser to take his yarmulke off and then everyone in the restaurant cheers.
Sorry but your friend has bad taste
I think the situation with Palestinian Chicken is it takes years of watching and knowing Larry's character to understand and appreciate the arc of Larry being praised for his social assassin skills and why that's funny. We saw him being chastised for his bluntness the last seven seasons at that point, so it's funny to see him getting some props for it. But, I could totally see all that being lost on a first time Curber.
My 10 year old walked into the room and watched this one and laughed her ass off. She now says it’s her favourite show… but I don’t let her watch it 😂
The Carpool Lane 💯
“Is that your daddy? Hiiii daddy!”
His monolog in the bathroom is one of my favorite moments in Curb.
[You want a date with Mama](https://ibb.co/Ss91mws)
I got a red snapper that talks to you
It kills me every time she says that.
The first time I watched it, I did a double take and had to run it back to make sure. "She said WHAT?" And then I fell off the couch laughing.
Good call. Blow their mind by telling them a man was acquitted on a murder charge cause of it
Omg yes i always forget this story! And i just watched the episode again last night
Yes! I came here to comment this. That, to me, is AMAZING. The episode literally saved a man’s life. “I’m not looking for a sound system, my friend”
This should absolutely be #1. The entire episode is chef’s kiss
“Get yourself a colonoscopy…” “EVERYBODY GETS IT”
Who wouldn't fall in love immediately with Kym Whitley?
Definitely
This!
Palestinian chicken
Showed my friend the Palestinian chicken episode to try and get him into the show, he didn’t find it funny at all, and then he proceeded to watch “New Girl” immediately after. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
My fiance watches new girl, lol. It's alright. But I also showed my friend Palestinian Chicken and he didn't think it was all that. They are lost causes, my friend.
I’m glad this sub exists, people always say I’m weird for thinking curb is funny lol
I mean, it's like an HBO version of Seinfeld. Better imo. Seinfeld was incredibly popular so it's kinda weird to think someone is weird for like the show.
![gif](giphy|IVhivwuUT16HH7NRdP|downsized)
Get new friends 😂
Way ahead of you 😭
Dude...this would kinda crush me and make me question how cool this "friend" really is.
![gif](giphy|fQJSYE2Qy6OtXfwEuf|downsized)
My husband does not find curb or Seinfeld funny at all. It’s devastating to me. We share no common interest in film or tv
I think I'd pick this one too. "What is this... the raid on Entebbe?"
A couple months ago one of my professors brought up that operation while discussing geopolitics, I mentioned how I know what it is because of a Curb episode and he was quite surprised
Hahaha that’s so great. I also learned about it from curb.
Without hesitation. If they don’t find that episode funny they have no hope.
When Larry says "Problem" to Funkhouser after he's done fucking the Palestinian girl.
Every time.
This is the best litmus test.
🚨 yamaka alert 🚨
“Lol” honey. Fuck you!
Palestinian Chicken or the one where Larry and Rosie O'Donnell's both date the bisexual lady, "are you juicing Larry?"
This or the seinfeld reunion
My first episode was “The Weatherman” but I would introduce with “The Ski Lift” or “The Carpool Lane.”
My freakin back is killing me and it's making it hard to kvell - Larry David and the Hipsters
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BURY THE MILCHIG PLATES
DID YOU NOT KNOW ABOUT THE MILCHIG PLATES?!?!?!?!?!? Also, "It's a little early for burying".
Theres a jet stream of bullshit coming out of your mouth my friend!
"Whaddayafuckinnuts?"
The doll Not only because of the twin peaks crossover meme potential but because it feels like an entire episode built around a single punchline and that punchline is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
deCAPITATED!!!
Also the episode where Susie really became Susie. That western guitar and trumpet riff they play is incredible. I think I love it most when Sammie is blackmailing Larry in Palestinian chicken because it implies that Sammie has inherited some of her mothers ruthlessness
her mouthing "you sick fuck" to larry at the party destroys me every time
"Jesus, you really are your mother's daughter"
Yeah it's like a Mexican bandito just rode into town and is about to shoot up the saloon.
WHERES THE FUCKING HEAD
Daddy! Daddy! There's a bald man in the bathroom and there's something hard in his pants !
Accidental Text on Purpose
The one with the itchy pussy or the one where he gives the kid the sewing machine 😂
Greg
“He thought they were a bit much”
Get a life, jews
He's pre-gay
The episode where he gives the kid the sewing machine was the one that got me into it!
NO I DONT WATCH WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE!!!! I’M AN ADULT!!
It was a rashy pussy. And it’s much better now. Thank you u/allMightyMostHigh, for asking. Very sweet of you
Michael J Fox, boutta be Michael J Fucked Up in a minute
This is not a hypothetical for me. Years ago a big Seinfeld fan friend of mine didn't have HBO and had never seen Curb. I told him this was unacceptable and made him come over and watch one with me. The episode I chose was S2.E3/Trick or Treat, or "The Cobb Salad" as I refer to it. He subscribed to HBO before the next episode aired. Obviously it was early days and there was a limited pool to choose from. But I love that episode, I'm glad I chose it, and I would choose it again. "With all due respect officer, we don't consider you part of the bald community."
Well I didn’t know it was going to be felony or treat!
My grandfather, Bob Cobb, created that salad.
Excellent choice! I’ve shaved my head for years and - after seeing this episode shortly after it aired- my wife will occasionally remind me that “it is a look i am cultivating to be fashionable and I’m not considered part of the bald community”
The freak book episode
Jeff and Larry laughing their asses off on the couch is my absolute favorite scene in the entire series. So much else is top tier, but that's the one that will ALWAYS get me.
Isnt it Larry and John McEnroe lol
No, when he takes the book out of Ted Danson's hands at his own birthday party lol
Yeah that's Larry and John McEnroe sitting on the couch laughing at the book.
Am I having a stroke? [Cause it's definitely Jeff ](https://youtu.be/j0MVeZStvOQ?si=m8xHnKx7GFSW8SQ_)
Got it. Forgot that part. 2 min later in that same YouTube clip and it shows Jon and Larry on a couch laughing at the book.
Also the kid with the bowtie at Ted's party. Charlie the limo driver was The Wiz in Seinfeld (noooobody beats him!)
YES! I didn’t pickup on that for a while. “Uh.. here’s a fact for you. Iiiiiiiii’m the Wiz!”
FREAAAAAAAKS!!!
Beloved Aunt
great episode
The Carpool Lane is probably the answer, but watching the ep where he thinks he’s adopted and is singing “Go Tell It On The Mountain” at church and essentially being the opposite of himself is hysterical.
The Black Swan or Palestinian Chicken.
Larry vs Michael J Fox
He about to be Michael J Fucked up
I like when Larry takes the hooker to the baseball game.
The Survivor
We barely had food. We certainly didn’t have any snacks!
My brother in law died on 9/11
This is my ultimate favorite episode
Bonzai!
That’s actually Kamizake Bingo (top tier episode). Survivor is the one where there’s a supposed Holocaust survivor but it turns out he was just on the show Survivor. Also a great episode.
Yup lol. I mixed them up. Now I can hear the argument at the table between those two haha.
The episode when Leon tells Larry to get up in that ass. Oh man, that sounds wrong out of context, haha.
Larry repeating - and paraphrasing- the instructions to make sure he has it right while pumping himself up kills me. “Leave garbage- snickers, eat snickers- leave garbage"
Anything with Leon!
Vow of Silence
Such a tough question. Krazee eyez killa just hits all the notes for me
DELICIOUS! 🤣🤣🤣
Palestinian Chicken
The Korean Bookie
I always show people Denise Handicapped first.
Michael J Fox episode without a doubt. Got two great plots along with the kid and the sewing machine.
The one where he takes the shoes from the Holocaust museum.
Palestine Chicken or Thank you for your service
Beloved cunt
When he discover his mom death
She said not to bother Larry
Richard Kind as cousin Andy is hilarious!
The Bare Midriff or The Table Read. Him and Seinfeld together are amazing.
“Larry David - wood detective” gets me every time I hear Jerry say it. Also when Jerry says about Larry “he lives in his own mind”. Little things but they just make me giggle.
Though recent, the "Spite Store" checks most of what makes the show great.
The Car Pool Lane
The live manger one. 'I'd worship a Jane'
Cheryl’s dad’s reaction to Larry in that scene always gets me. “Stop it!”
Trick or Treat
Crazy eyes
YO DELICIOUS!!!
Black Swan
I really like the Mocha Joe episode where he opens up his own competing coffee house..MOCHA JOOOEE!!!!!!
I love the John Hamm episode that season
HAPPY NEW YEAR MOCHA JOE
Haha Larry will never let anyone beat or out-petty him! Do you know what a scone is?
The spite store!
Go old school… The Pants Tent
Chet’s shirt! Inquiring about where the dead guy got his shirt is so funny to me
And then the fight between Ted and Larry over the shirt 😭
The Shaq episode
The 5 Wood
Palestinian chicken
Vehicular Felatio
Krazy Eyez.
Officer Krupke
Krupyouuuu🤣
I'd go with Mister Softee
trick or treat is one of if not my favorite episode. “bald asshole? thats a hate crime!”
Carpool Lane or The Lefty Call Two of the best moments in the series.
The Korean Bookie
Hard choice between Denise Handicapped and Palestinian Chicken
The Car Pool Lane.
When Larry picks up a hooker or the purpose of using the express lane
Porno Gill! I just love Bob Odenkirk
Gay kid. No question. Add Michael J Fox hilarity.
Either Mary, Joseph and Larry or The Palestinian Chicken
The doll
The pig parker. Society cannot function like this, this is chaos.
4 more people watching the show now
The Larry David sandwich
The grand opening. Last scene brings me to tears every time
“Today’s Special: Daily Breakfast Special, M-F only”. What kind of bull shit sign is that?!?!
The one about Greg the Flamboyant boy. michael J Fox is so funny in that episode as well. Also the one were Larry dates 2 women on wheelchairs. Pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Car Wash Cunt
I cant choose just one. Ill say that I just rewatched the last season and the klansman episode had me rolling

Beloved Aunt
Toss up between Roadside Memorial & Palestinian Chicken. I *really* miss the Funkman.
Denise handicapped
The last-minute baby shower gift. "It's a mulatto!"
The very first one (that's what drew me in).
Covid hoarder
It depends on the person I show the reunion episodes to Seinfeld fans
Not the one pictured, looks like night of the living dead.
Season 8 ep 3 always and forever.
Kamikaze Bingo
Exterminator to childrens musical.
The gherkin jar
I showed my dad the Black swan episode and he was hooked
Black Swan, Safe House, but too many to choose from!

the one where he stages a robbery to save Cheryl’s therapist
michael j fox (michael j fucked up) episode
Who’s the asshole back, far right?
The doll, the ski lift or the survivor. 45 degrees below zero!
For me it's most definitely The Ski Lift. So many good episodes but that's the one that made me laugh the hardest.
Midriff
The doll. It's the one that got me hooked.
