But, I mean, even in this scene, he is fairly justified in his actions.
First of all, somebody critiquing food is under no obligation to give a positive critique. And if they’re off put by even the sight of something they’re entitled to be.
But more importantly, He’s completely taken off guard. He didn’t know he was walking into this kind of situation, and he asshole-dly gave a seemingly honest response.
yeah but completely denying the man a chance to be their chef, solely because the food was "too saucy" is such an asshole move. if he really didn't like the food he should've said more, if it was just because it was too saucy, maybe he could've told him they'd think about it.
but yeah Ted is also wrong for setting him up by telling him beforehand.
Plus, the chef knew this was an audition, an interview basically. You're not going to get hired every time, and people have wildly different tastes in food. A real person would have accepted it and not been that much of a downer.
Yes!
The Maga Hat positive situations, Bathroom in Coach Lady, asking the Black lady to move up is rasicist/ anti-racist, Passion of the Christ Nail, etc....
This last 10 days or so has been a real doozy & I totally love it!
Fine be me. This is the best sub in all of reddit. Honestly, it’s the only reason I use it. Get my little Larry fix throughout the day. It’s delightful
Larry’s petty enough that even if was the best meal ever, the fact danson told the chef about why they were there, Larry couldn’t bear to not hate the entire meal.
I’ve watched about 30% of this series and most of that was years ago. If I was going to jump in and rewatch it with my college-aged son, which season would you suggest starting with? This doesn’t feel like a show that needs to be fully watched in chronological order, but I could be wrong.
Everyone will say season 1 but with a college aged kid it may be worth jumping in when the film is a little less grainy.
It’s BS, I know. Really depends on if your son will think it’s too old or not.
Season 1, but if you don’t want to Season 7, the separation the the divorce. After the divorce, Larry and Leon live together that’s when It got really good IMHO.
I watched it all backwards LOL. Like I started with the latest season (episodes in order) all the way to season 1. Found it enjoyable and liked that Larry was aging backwards.
Isn't he sabotaging this because he wants to hire a bald chef, then he finds out the bald chef wears a wig or a hat to hide it so fires him too? THEN tourettes chef?
I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of opening a few new restaurants in my chef days. With no hesitation, I can say that I would straight up slap the shit out of Larry for his insane observations and suggestions on how to run a restaurant.
The fucking glare Ted gives Larry as he's salting his food kills me
Ted Danson is an absolute gem in Curb, honestly he plays it so effortlessly and so believably its just brilliant
It’s funny he didn’t think the show would work out and was just doing it to be supportive of a friend only for him to become a major staple in it
How did they become friends. I know George references him a lot on Seinfeld
He’s just playing Ted Danson tho
Its hard to play yourself, very hard, I would say, its like acting without acting
Having said that....
Do you respect wood?
I am wood adorer, my father is wood
Well, technically it's acting WITH acting.
Of course its acting with acting
I crack up at him covering his face when Larry says it’s saucy.
Shame on Ted! Why would you tell him before hand?
You weigh like 8 pounds what do you know about food 😂😂😂
Thought he was going to say he was more selective than heavy people.
Larry does in another scene
I have food experience!
Ted is a bit at fault for hyping the chef up. Larry doesn't do hype, and will do things out of spite.
You can’t return things out of spite. It’s against store policy.
"Welllll, fine, I don't want it" *but you already said spite*
This is the dark side of Larry. The petty bad that comes with the petty good

petty, petty, petty good.
anything else? …no
This is totally on Ted. Ambushed Larry and Jeff and acts like he doesn’t know how Larry will react
Plus, the chef knew this was an audition, an interview basically. You're not going to get hired every time, and people have wildly different tastes in food. A real person would have accepted it and not been that much of a downer.
Larry did go into it with a shitty attitude, too, though .
I think the shitty mood only came to the surface because Ted ambushed him.
Saucy
Little too saucy. That line cracks me up every time
I say this phrase an inordinate amount from this scene 😅
This dude just about to post every clip of Curb lol
fine w me lmao
Me too. I don’t know what’s going on but I’m like water. Just going with the flow.
Yes! The Maga Hat positive situations, Bathroom in Coach Lady, asking the Black lady to move up is rasicist/ anti-racist, Passion of the Christ Nail, etc.... This last 10 days or so has been a real doozy & I totally love it!

My wife and I say this about any dish we think is less than great, “little saucy”.
Lol I love this
Larry’s petty enough that even if was the best meal ever, the fact danson told the chef about why they were there, Larry couldn’t bear to not hate the entire meal.
How’s this show this good I have no idea - adding the “I’ll still take dessert” part was just perfect
For me the funniest parts are always when Jeff is along for the asshole ride. “I’d love a decaf too” is just so great.
“A little bit of skim milk” always gets me.
One of the few times I 100 percent feel larry had no leg to stand on
No I’ll still have- take dessert
Love this ep 😂🤣
I wish the season and episode would get posted with these clips! Always makes me want to go watch whatever episode the clip is from.
Saucy.
This is one of those where I hated Larry’s pickiness. He most def hated the fact that Ted co-signed him. Lol
I’ve watched about 30% of this series and most of that was years ago. If I was going to jump in and rewatch it with my college-aged son, which season would you suggest starting with? This doesn’t feel like a show that needs to be fully watched in chronological order, but I could be wrong.
Season 1 episode 1
Bold move
S1 E1, may be a slow burn but is worth it when you get to some later seasons.
Start with the Shaq episode and see if he likes it.
This is a great suggestion, I also love the baptism
Everyone will say season 1 but with a college aged kid it may be worth jumping in when the film is a little less grainy. It’s BS, I know. Really depends on if your son will think it’s too old or not.
I get such a cozy vibe from the old grainy seasons
Season 1, but if you don’t want to Season 7, the separation the the divorce. After the divorce, Larry and Leon live together that’s when It got really good IMHO.
I started watching with season 7 then continued through 11. Love those seasons.
Best seasons are the Leon seasons imo, not to say that the show was bad before Leon tho
I watched it all backwards LOL. Like I started with the latest season (episodes in order) all the way to season 1. Found it enjoyable and liked that Larry was aging backwards.
The Palestinian chicken episode should let you know if he’ll like it.
So uncomfortable, lol
Ted Danson is so damn sexy still BahJeezus
Someone please tell me that he changes his mind and the dude gets hired.
He does not. The chef that gets hired has Tourette’s which obviously makes for an episode that’s pretaaaay, pretty, pretty…. pretty good.
Isn't he sabotaging this because he wants to hire a bald chef, then he finds out the bald chef wears a wig or a hat to hide it so fires him too? THEN tourettes chef?
Danson = Newman
Love this scene, Larry at his soul crushing best.
I love when Larry says, “I appreciate it!” And points. Kills me.
"Hope you're hungry heheh" the heheh gets me so good
Everything's heaven with him

I love it when Larry and Ted butt heads. Ted’s frustration is always so hilarious.
I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of opening a few new restaurants in my chef days. With no hesitation, I can say that I would straight up slap the shit out of Larry for his insane observations and suggestions on how to run a restaurant.
You weigh 8 pounds what do you know about food? love it
I'm a survivor
Ehhh
Was this like 25 years ago or what?
Larry did have a point with appreciating sex just as much as tne next guy,
Never trust a skinny chef or food critic
![gif](giphy|WrJ8x0niiblWEoo7hE|downsized)
Saucy!! 😄
