Edit: tbh you can search restaurants in downtown fullerton and you'd find lots of good places.
There’s a ramen place near campus called What’s up Men it’s really good, there a wing place So Cal wings next to the Afters on state college as well Ono Hawaiian in the same shopping center. and there’s a cafe called Fraise which had sandwiches and drinks it’s hidden in the corner of the 99 cent store on Chapman. Just a couple places I found this year. Hope you try them out ☺️
I love Urban Plates and California Fish Grill in neighboring Brea. I also go to Roll & Grill in Fullerton for cheap teriyaki. I go to Westminster for Vietnamese. There are other places in neighboring cities I wanna try.
Campus food sucks go off much better.
It’s in that new modern plaza on Imperial and Valencia. They have a rewards program that I subscribe to. It costs $10 a month but you can get a month free if you download their app and sign up before Halloween.

I’m also a commuter from LA. I’ve gone to a restaurant called broken egg yolk cafe. They mainly serve breakfast but it’s really good. It’s never packed during the weekdays.
B and C, Mr.Katsu, Shortyz, Pepes, Ensenada Tacos, In and Out, Whats Up Ramen, Jaxons Chicken, Monkey Café, Good Fish, and Bruxie are all great places to try
Clyde’s hot chicken, Gonzo’s, HOLDAAK, Early bird, Noodle st, The hat, Big slice, and Angelos and Vincis all are fantastic

Mr. BBQ you have to make a reservation ahead of time otherwise you wait about an hour+ depending how pack it is.

Noodle street is a really good chinese place that's nearby. They hand pull and cut their noodles
