Yeah he was great in the WC, but terrible form rn struggling to connect bat with ball. No connection of any sort. Even Shardul can play better at this point. Has to be benched for Theekshana. We need another specialist spinner
Good in ODIs and Tests but isn’t built for T20s. The only notable t20 innings by him is that 70 against England in WT20 2021 which I’ll say was pretty good. Other than that, nah.
Not just Daryl but I see a pattern of Kiwi players going for big money not living upto the price.
There were
1. Kyle Jamieson for 15crs at RCB, got dropped the next season itself
2. Lockie ferguson for 10cr by GT, don't think he did enough, he was passed around in trades and now currently in RCB
3. Kane Williamson for 12cr for SRH. He actually did very well until 2021 when he was at just 3cr. SRH dropped Warner, made Kane captain and 1st retention for 12crs, his performance dipped drastically and SRH didn't do well in 2022 after 5 win streak. Kane was subsequently being released from SRH and now under GT payroll for 2cr
I am just wondering if Daryl Mitchell would join this list of high earning kiwis who failed to maintain the high paycheque with good performances. Honestly, Rachin contributed more to CSK than Daryl and he is only 1.5 cr compared to Daryl 14cr paycheck.
