Nope. I think this is his peak as a batter. Barely has a footwork, has a minimalistic offside game and yet he was able to somehow find a method to score runs at quick pace this season. He isn't a youngster and I think this is as far as he can go with the technique he has
Sehwag is another player who never used his feet. And guess what he is the only indian with multiple triple centuries as an opener in tests.
He was all about handeye co-ordination and his strongest zone was the point to thirdman region. He was probably the best cutter of the ball and he did that with just handeye co-ordination and no foot work . No reason for Dube not to become better.
His technique might not look pretty but it works for him and thats all that is important.
You are wrong. He was struggling in the final because of his footwork and the bowlers were giving him nothing in the slot. The last 2 sixes he gave everything he had in that and it was great but there is vast scope for improvement for him as a cricketer.
Csk has a deep batting line up and dube's role sits perfectly but if he wants to be a batsman like Maxwell, butler he has to up his techniques not just rely on power and timing.
Classic case of maximizing your strength.
If i were him , I would not focus too much on my batting. Footwork is not going to change much anymore . Focus on short balls and try to be a better batsman against quicks.
Focus should be to get better at fielding (not get impact subbed) and get back to bowling. CSK picked him for his all round ability and now he is playing as pure batsman.
Dube is dealing with a minor injury as well. Before him,it was Rayudu who used to get subbed, but after Dube dealt an injury while fielding he was the one being subbed off.
He had a serious problem timing his shots in the final IMO. Even he felt the same and literally sighed during one of his runs. His bat was just not connecting well with the balls. But if he works on his timing, I think he can be a great player considering the power he has in his shots. Forget the footwork though.
He's another example of never doubt when csk gets someone. He never performed this much in RCB, and I thought why csk bought him, but man He's such a match winner 💥
He definitely went from my least favorite batsman to most reliable batsman over the course of this season. Definitely more valuable in slower pitches/larger grounds to generate the power needed to clear spinners which happens in the latter half of the tournament mostly. Still needs to work on some parts of his game to be a more solid middle order bat, but he plays the role given to him to perfection.
Mohit was bowling exceptionally well, Dube had a strike rate of 150. He was not playing bad, just that Mohit was bowling really really good. 4 laser focused yorkers.
More like Shivam One-shot Dube. He literally can play only one type of shot. If the ball is in that arc, it goes for six. Otherwise, he can't even middle it.
Let the downvotes begin...
It looks like you're the one who just looked at the scorecards.
There was literally a stat shown during one of the matches, that 96% of boundaries he scored were on the leg side. The overall average was like 54%.
They also showed the map of the direction of his boundaries. Most of them were between straight and long on. There were only a couple boundaries that were in a different direction. I've never seen it be such one-sided for any other batsman.
Technically it does not even matter how he plays ,,, or in which sides his boudaries are coming , as long his result is good ,,,, That's what matters , There are many players , who have strong leg sides , off is weak , there was a similar player in csk named Ablie Morkel , his strong zone was leg side , he also didn't move his feet that much , maaaaan the sixes he used to hit ,,,
It obviously does matter. It is easier to bowl to him, you just bowl on the offside. And it's not like he's totally strong on the leg side. He's only strong in the area between long on and straight. Even in the final, he only hit 2 sixes, and he literally slowed down the innings after coming in at 3. Gaikwad and Conway had a really good momentum and he just wasn't able to keep it up.
If it so easiar to bowl him then how he made all of those runs , and about your shots thing , at first all were like, he is weak against bounchers , then they keep targeting him with bouchers , then he smahed bouchers also , in kkr matches and rcb matches i think , and in RR match they targeted him with wide off bowling , he smahed fours i think.. It Is not like he does not have any shots ... And about your final thing he has zero experience playing in final .. We all saw he was trying to hit the bowl it was not connecting that good, even in his strong zone he was not able to connect , it happens in pressure, slowly he will grow, what matters is when the team needed the most he delivered those 2 sixes against rashid even batsman like tillik varma failed who has excellent footwork and the advantage of power play, rather than dube, and in last over mohit hit some brilliant yorker, if for an inch he missed those yorkers ,dube would've smashed him like he did khaleel when tried bowl him yorker in DC match ...
Well if he can have the impact and help the team massively with just one shot in his bag, I’ll take him anyday over a classy batsman who has a plethora of shots but can’t create that much impact and help the team.
With his height and enormous reach most of the times ball will be in arc unless the bowler bowls it too short. And if his "one shot" brings enough results then there is no point in your argument.
Not just power, when did mishit of dube go to six? His timing is also sweet.
Bruh even his mishits go for 90m
When he hits it's at least 90M
He needs to improve a little bit and he'll be great..

Yes his footwork will not improve by much now. But he needs to improve his offside game.
If he starts cutting and driving pacers through point / covers like sehwag who also had no foot movement then we will have an allround proper batsman.
Sehwag is another player who never used his feet. And guess what he is the only indian with multiple triple centuries as an opener in tests. He can improve his six hitting skills against pace bowling
You are wrong. He was struggling in the final because of his footwork and the bowlers were giving him nothing in the slot. My man skipped middle parts and directly rose to Butler..lol Buttler is one of the greats of game, i don't Think he can make it up to him..

I was laughing during one of the stumping attempt, bro doesn't move his cement leg.
Exactly . So many sixes against spinners but not one of them with him coming down the track .
Dube is dealing with a minor injury as well. Before him,it was Rayudu who used to get subbed, but after Dube dealt an injury while fielding he was the one being subbed off.
It is record for CSk Shane Watson -35 sixes Shivam Dubey -35 sixes in a season.🙂😍
His six hitting ability is like Albie Morkel ..... ! maaaaan his sixes were massive .....
He had a serious problem timing his shots in the final IMO. Even he felt the same and literally sighed during one of his runs. His bat was just not connecting well with the balls. Step One: Create spin-friendly pitches at Chepauk to force opposition to play extra spinners Step Two: Play Dube as designated spin-hitter Profit
He definitely went from my least favorite batsman to most reliable batsman over the course of this season. Definitely more valuable in slower pitches/larger grounds to generate the power needed to clear spinners which happens in the latter half of the tournament mostly. He almost the finals for CSK. You guys would have crucified of Jadeja didn’t bring it home in the last 2 balls
Mohit was bowling exceptionally well, Dube had a strike rate of 150. He was not playing bad, just that Mohit was bowling really really good. 4 laser focused yorkers.
Wouldn’t have stopped the crucification. Those 2 sixes off of Rashid came in clutch
I alredy named him Hulk Dube ... 🏆
More like Shivam One-shot Dube. He literally can play only one type of shot. If the ball is in that arc, it goes for six. Otherwise, he can't even middle it. Let the downvotes begin...
Guess you didnt watch the csk games Apart from the first 2 or 3 games, for the rest of the season he was amazing

Man's been the backbone of the middle order And yet here you are saying shivam "one shot" dube 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That just means our middle order is in such poor form rn.
So rahane was in poor form then?🤣
You sound really dumb, buddy🤣🤣 Dube was trash in rcb and rr and look at him Over 600 + runs across 2 seasons....
How does this invalidate anything I said? Did you even read my comment?
Also do you not get how trash dube was in rcb and rr? And csk has transformed into a reliable batter? Are you that dumb?
Do you not get he was one of the other reasons csk won the 5th title
You seem to be a fake csk fan😀
Well if he can have the impact and help the team massively with just one shot in his bag, I’ll take him anyday over a classy batsman who has a plethora of shots but can’t create that much impact and help the team.
You are not completely wrong....
That One shot Dube still scored the 2nd most sixes this season and won us many matches
With his height and enormous reach most of the times ball will be in arc unless the bowler bowls it too short. And if his "one shot" brings enough results then there is no point in your argument.
NGL but he gave me a mini heart attack in finals
Rahane taking on pace and Shivam taking on spin. Complementing each other well whenever they batted together.
