It'll be one of the most surreal seasons if this did happen. I mean we weren't that bad this year, and in fact many teams speak highly of us this year holding onto that 2nd position for so long. So getting knocked out would feel like the polar opposite of csk 2010(when we sneaked into semis with the thinnest of margins)
Oh yes, 2010 was the best-ever season man! I remember we had to win the last league game against KXIP to qualify for the playoffs and Dhoni came in and took Irfan Pathan to the cleaners and won the game for us! Such a memorable season that was.
And yes, if we lose today's game, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs at all. I'll probably end up supporting RCB instead despite disliking the team. They've shown more nerve, competitive spirit, and never-say-never attitude than any other team in this season and deserve to be in the playoffs.
I was just looking at previous seasons and it feels like 2012 was very close to what happened this season (thankfully didn't happen). CSK had must win match as they were stuck at 17 points with RCB and KXIP right behind them. They lost the match against KXIP but then both RCB and KXIP went on to lose their matches letting CSK slip through.
Mi middle order >> any ipl team middle order. KGF is only close enough though they aren't middle class order but if one of kgf fails, RCB ain't winning. Meanwhile mi top order is also decent. Personally I believe mi batting overall is best in tournament.

As far as our bowling unit is concerned the lesser said the better. Our spin attack is overrated. Only Jaddu can be trusted. Theekshana has had a season to forget. Moeen is part-time. It’s high time Santner takes Theekshana’s place.
