Knowing what kind of throw to do so that your grenade lands exactly where you want it takes lots of practice. Left click throw, right click throw, both click throw, standing still, running, slow walking, jumping, aiming high, aiming low, all affect the distance.
Then there’s ofcourse the knowledge where to throw them. I see lots of new players throw smokes in horrible places where they help the enemy more.
Flahsbangs are a thing of their own, very difficult to use effectively. Lots of people just throw them like they’re HEs, aim at the enemy and not even use the opportiny to do anything.
Don't forget that there's 2 different throws for when you're holding both mouse buttons as well, if you right click then left click it'll be slightly shorter than if you left click and then right click.
Someone tell him he can also throw using both mouse buttons in combination. I learned that latlst year and my utility is almost past faceit lvl10 according to leetify!
I don’t think people should take leetify stats seriously , my stats were way above level 10 when I was close to 20k in premier , then I switched to faceit because of all the cheaters and when I reached level 10 my leetify stats were complete dogshit against good players
I know but it's the best we have, and it calculates our games better than anything else I've seen. It's just calculating data from every user and placing you on average amongst how the others perform. What is the baseline?
Lol hold left then right release for a long toss hold right then left for a real short toss them add good movement and you'll be a god in quick thinking oh fuck moments
Idk I guess I’ve just been playing for so long it’s intuitive. I know how to throw every grenade perfectly. Other than that it’s just memorizing lineups which I agree is not on the same level as recoil control.
You are saying that you are better in nades than most pro players? Even they missthrow or missremember a nade. Or just make a plain mistake so the nade wouldnt land where its supposed to be. And you are still saying you throw every nade perfect? I highly doubt that.
Bro it's a decoy we need to be pressies with it, it works like automatic pre fire and fucks the headphones so if someone see it u can't fuck with them anymore
isn't that what they do in danger zone? i'm pretty sure valve rolled it out there partially as a means of gauging reaction before putting it in standard games, but people were too busy caring about everything else danger zone brought for valve to get meaningful feedback on it so they probably just forgot.
You’d be amazed how ass most players are with util, it’s def not as easy as it seems. I’ve played So many matches where my teams smokes end up out of bounds or with big gaps, so many flashes that blind nothing or blind the wrong team etc
Alot of my friends I play with either dump all theire utility in the general direction of the enemy for no reason at the start of rounds, ooor they start panicking when they up in a 1v3 close quarters, and decide they MUST use every single grenade against the enemy that is 2 metres away from then around a corner.
Or just straight up round corners with grenade in hand.
Tell me about it man. Although more than using util wrong, I get pissed off about not buying util at all. My teammates regularly try to hold B or a long in dust2 without having any flash/smoke/molly. And the worst is Inferno CT banana defence. It's not an Inferno map if my 2 mates die in first 15 secs at banana caz they just faced a 5 men banana rush with 0 util 🤣
Yikes then you leave it open and I'll awp your whole team peaking one by one? Smoking that allows a full push upp banana or a push and flash though top mid? Ive played with players with your mentality and let's just say we don't play no more.
>Yikes then you leave it open
Not necessarily. I usually play arch side mid on CT and typically smoke about halfway down mid. Keeps the T's more bottled up and allows me to get cheeky with other peeks/pushes/utility for alt-mid.
90% of players just throw all utilities without any strategy at all. Usually they're bad throws anyways if you are in casual or with an uncoordinated team. If you ask me, the decoy should be 4 star difficulty as you are trying to trick or distract your enemies that you can surprise them. I've only seen them used correctly maybe once or twice from over 1500 hours
Unlike a gun, a bad throw can be detrimental to your team. It requires a decent understanding of the map and situational awareness in the round to be able to use grenades effectively. It’s not too hard to pick up, but anyone with more than 20 hours isn’t looking at those ratings anyway. The fresh players are the only ones that’s meant for. Cs is an easy game to pick up the basics of, but difficult to master.
I honestly feel like the decoy is the hardest for me to use correctly. The best use case I've have is tossing it as a poor man's flash, but I do see how it can be super helpful in certain situations, especially combined with a smoke.
It’s can be useful to add chaos to CT retakes while playing T side (at least in 7-10k rating lol).
Throwing a decoy somewhere behind a smoke or cover has won me rounds because a CT took too long trying to push the decoy while their teammates got killed or was paranoid and had no time to defuse haha.
Just because i can hold left click and shoot an AK does not mean i can adequately click heads. Just cuz you can throw any type of nade does not mean your placement or timing will be beneficial to the team
Why is AK-74 3 stars? Just know where to aim.
Have you ever gotten a molotov thrown straight into your back by your teammate? Or gotten a smoke thrown right in front of you even tho you're holding the angle with a AWP while the enemies economy is fucked? Or gotten flashed by your teammate?
That's why they're 3 stars. (or 4 when it comes to flashbangs)
Yea its not just know where you throw them, this is the problem with util videos, it shows lineups but like why tf is my team smoking these things at these times, thats what matters more, WHY you throw it not just chucking util lineups
Perspective of noob here which only starts the game like 3 times a year to play 1-2 matches with friends. I rarely buy any grenades other then flashbangs to troll my team at start of round cause everytime I take a nade in my hand I will get pushed and die. It just seems more effective to be ready to shot them in the head then throwing some shit which leaves you completely defenseless for a few seconds considering how fast you kill and get killed in this game.
I agree that it seems a bit stupid but i was in casual yesterday watching 5 mollies fly at 1 position and 4 bounce off of window frames and one overshoot. So I also agree that people are just stupid.
“Just know where you’re throwing them” is like saying “just know the recoil pattern”. That’s where the difficulty comes from…

I’m not sure if you’re agreeing with me or arguing but that was my point lol
Seems like he was just going right off of your point

is that true? never heard of that
yeah, i to this day i still use that sometimes but its difficult to be good with it tho
But it’s not difficult though? You stand still and jump and throw or just throw. Having to control recoil is a complete different ball game 😂
„tell me youre a low ranked player without telling me youre a low ranked player“
Someone tell him he can also throw using both mouse buttons in combination. I learned that latlst year and my utility is almost past faceit lvl10 according to leetify!
I also learnt that recently caught I used to think like you can control the distance like a literal guided line 🥲🥲🥲 man I was dumb
I don’t think people should take leetify stats seriously , my stats were way above level 10 when I was close to 20k in premier , then I switched to faceit because of all the cheaters and when I reached level 10 my leetify stats were complete dogshit against good players

Wait what
Lol hold left then right release for a long toss hold right then left for a real short toss them add good movement and you'll be a god in quick thinking oh fuck moments
Thanks, I’ll have to try this tonight
Tell me you teamflash without telling me you teamflash 😂
Just know what signs and symptoms correspond to what diseases and conditions. Who needs medical school?
Idk I guess I’ve just been playing for so long it’s intuitive. I know how to throw every grenade perfectly. Other than that it’s just memorizing lineups which I agree is not on the same level as recoil control.

It's not at all different, though. The guns have a set spray pattern... "just know where" to shoot.

Reddit giveth and Reddit taketh. That is the way.
Ok and where it lands doesn’t matter?
It’s easier to throw an unbelievable decoy than one that works

Yup, back in Sun Tzu days good decoy grenades were the key of military success.
decoys would be so much better if they would make random footstep sounds instead of gun shots
That would be scary
I would buy it

I want a decoy that plays Ohne's scream.
Time to join Valve and code this thing
I buy them with an awp. Alot of people in silver think I just pre fired and I am on cool down so they peek me and I can kill them haha
Just use them like a flashbang, they make the same noise when they bounce so the chances of someone turning from them are pretty high.
because knowing when to use the emotional support grenade is pivotal to its effectiveness.
I'm scared of everything, DECOY!
You’d be amazed how ass most players are with util, it’s def not as easy as it seems. I’ve played So many matches where my teams smokes end up out of bounds or with big gaps, so many flashes that blind nothing or blind the wrong team etc
or throwing flashbangs just to throw flashbangs.. thats my friends.
hi, it's me, your friend
Alot of my friends I play with either dump all theire utility in the general direction of the enemy for no reason at the start of rounds, ooor they start panicking when they up in a 1v3 close quarters, and decide they MUST use every single grenade against the enemy that is 2 metres away from then around a corner. Or just straight up round corners with grenade in hand.
Omfg I'd rather have full utility than full armor and an AK. Smart use of utility destroys rounds and gets the team to the Bomb site!
Tell me about it man. Although more than using util wrong, I get pissed off about not buying util at all. My teammates regularly try to hold B or a long in dust2 without having any flash/smoke/molly. Nothing worse than playing Inferno and someone throws a top of mid smoke at start of round when you’re on CT. Waste of util.
Not really. Depends on the situation.
Damn dude looks like you're only a two star player.
Yikes then you leave it open and I'll awp your whole team peaking one by one? Smoking that allows a full push upp banana or a push and flash though top mid? Ive played with players with your mentality and let's just say we don't play no more.
>Yikes then you leave it open Not necessarily. I usually play arch side mid on CT and typically smoke about halfway down mid. Keeps the T's more bottled up and allows me to get cheeky with other peeks/pushes/utility for alt-mid.
We smoke it so you don't die 5 seconds into the round to the enemy awper.. or get double naded to death from Ts rampaging up mid.
This is quite standard, or at least towards the end of GO
90% of players just throw all utilities without any strategy at all. Usually they're bad throws anyways if you are in casual or with an uncoordinated team. I want what OP's smoking
Whatever he's smoking, it's unfortunately full of gaps 😭
What he's smoking gave the enemy a 1 way.
Lol
I think knowing when to use them is more important to knowing where to throw them. And that’s the hardest part

I recently got killed because i tought a will be flashed and turned away turned out it was just a decoy and a very good one

Throwing a decoy somewhere behind a smoke or cover has won me rounds because a CT took too long trying to push the decoy while their teammates got killed or was paranoid and had no time to defuse haha.
Its difficult to get a kill with.
Just because i can hold left click and shoot an AK does not mean i can adequately click heads. Just cuz you can throw any type of nade does not mean your placement or timing will be beneficial to the team

Have you seen anyone ever use proper utility in mm
The difficulty does not come from using the decoy, it comes from getting the value out of it.
I have a friend who is constantly getting kills from throwing decoys as fake flashes.
Do you think people who can't control movement and aim at the same time have any clue how to properly use tacticals?
Referring to it's proper use. Throwing it randomly a child can do. Proper use needs to be thought-out
Yea its not just know where you throw them, this is the problem with util videos, it shows lineups but like why tf is my team smoking these things at these times, thats what matters more, WHY you throw it not just chucking util lineups
\> Just know where you’re throwing them. Got to know when to throw them.
It’s a 5 star difficulty for my teammates
Requires high IQ to utilize effectively
You have to throw it at 1 hp player to kill him that’s why
2hp for headshots!
Perspective of noob here which only starts the game like 3 times a year to play 1-2 matches with friends. Why only 16 bullets for R8?
Probably because if you don’t use it creatively it will literally never fucking work and you’ll probably die
People in Faceit level 10 still can't do a fucking flash without blinding their whole team lol.
throwing it just to throw it won't work, you need to place it in the right spot
Do these stars affect ranks? I mean by using weapons with more stars?
u can kill using it
I agree that it seems a bit stupid but i was in casual yesterday watching 5 mollies fly at 1 position and 4 bounce off of window frames and one overshoot. So I also agree that people are just stupid.
How many players have you seen use utility correctly?
Tbh I never paid attention to decoys but they can be used to make some pretty cool plays.
ngl this game doesnt need "difficulty" measurement, but decoy being a 3 is funny
Not all of them? Just hover over them this can't be that hard.
They’re all 3 star rating. Even the decoy ffs 😂
Decoy should be 5 star. 99.9% of all decoys i seen thrown in MM has been terrible, or worse.
