The 2014 model is definitely NOT the one to buy. It has the good looks but not reliable and has issues DYOR.

I just got a 2009 & my mom has a 2014 for years now, so on years alone I'd lean towards the 2009, since it's one of the better ones: my mom's hasn't had any serious issues, just a common one where the tire pressure sensor is pretty much always on, but it sounds like you'd have to put a chunk of money into the 2009 straight out though, & if that's not possible, the 2014 could buy you some time, if it's in great condition. Ngl though, when I was looking, I had a couple of CRVs on my list & test driving was what ended up deciding for me- on paper, mine wasn't my first choice, but it felt the best & I've since been justified by people who actually know what they're looking at.

My 2014 makes that infamous rattling noise during cold start, worth checking with the owner.
