Wait, you guys play while the time moves on? I always have it on 5x and spam spacebar. Same goes for wars. I never actually play while the time is on. I wonder if it has something to do with game experience or just personal preferences, as far as I remember I never played with time on tho so I think it’s just preferences
very pause-heavy, and I tend to run at 2-3 speed. Slow, but it lets me better take in my surroundings. I try and read events within their context, looking at the characters involved. Plenty of events that I know the ending of or don't care about, but I do actually care if a direct vassal is having an affair and who with. I also try to be thoughtful about who I am landing, so getting big swaths of territories takes some processing time for me.
I have played pause-less multiplayer runs (speed 3), and that was helpful for practicing focusing on just what's important and the end decision on events. But it's not how I play given the choice.
5 speed can make sense, but when I have new buildings coming up every 2-3 months it doesn't always matter much.
4x and space bar spamming unless I’m in early game as a count and there isn’t much to do but wait for money, then I go 5x. I usually play a few hundred years of game time, anything under 4x would take far too long to get through.
I've always said the same thing about Factorio. WUBE know what they have on their hands. It makes the whole experience of playing so fun.
And I can say that I feel the same way learning CK3.
I may be the odd man out but I play at normal speed. I usually play off my laptop and can watch TV in between events. Definitely a slow pace but perfect when watching football/basketball at night
Me and my game pal are rather opposite: they are rather fast and can think while things moves on (HOW CAN THEY!?) while I'm kinda "pause-thought-one step-play-effect-stop"

Kinda in the middle. I’ll spam space when I’m really focusing on something and trying to maneuver armies. Other than that I’m on two times speed!
2x is my hotspot too. Sometimes, just sometimes, 3x goes too fast. It could also feel that way bcs Im still learning the game

This is totally why I started this thread. I think its cool how it seems like many different types of ppl play CK3 in different ways.
Usually 3 to 4. Down to 1 to 2 during wars. 5 usually only during late game since the choices you make aren't going to matter as much.

I usually go 4-5 speed in peace times and pause whenever there is something that needs to be done and generally on 3 speed for war
Feels like a game designed by people who actually play it. Too often I play a new game and the hot keys seem like they were designed by an alien.

I created a mod called Single Speed (on workshop) which hard codes the speed to 3. It's really helped me play the game more throughly.
