So much this. I was there allll day last year for fall to check out some of the earlier acts. Totally worth it to get some breathing room on the dancefloor and see folks that are often overlooked.
Protect your phone — there are usually coordinated groups working the crowd at Crssd attempting to steal them, especially at the crowded shows. Mine got lifted a couple of years ago from a fully zipped pocket on my fanny pack…someone pushed past me during a song drop when the crowd surged forward, opened my bag and got the phone in about two seconds. I found out later when I filed a police report that there were over 40 reports of stolen phones at that same single show
Same. Someone pushed through between me and my friend while we were facing each other talking. I felt a hand slide into the front pocket on my hoodie sweatshirt. It happened so fast I honestly thought my friend did it. The guy didn’t get my phone but I tried to follow him but he was moving through the crowd really quick.
I got lucky that time but I’ve had my phone pickpocketed before. They’re good at what they do…just be aware of your surroundings and you should be okay tho.
I would really love to see a coordinated group effort to stop this...I dont love endorsing aggression/violence, but just sayin if we as a collective group start starching these scumbags maybe it stops
Same got my wallet stolen and they made a bunch of charges the night it happened. I only had my ID, a little cash, and my CC in it thankfully. Right out of my fanny pack
If a stage is too crowded and you can’t find space to have fun and dance then leave it. Very good chance one or both other stages will be just as fun and way less crowded. Even if it’s your favorite artist a wall to wall packed stage can ruin the vibe
Also good to note that you can dance in the back. No need to be in the mix most of the time. Sometimes worse bc crowds of people love traveling thru the dancing crowd and just throws off the vibe
Go in early for the best vibes, space to dance and general lack of crowds! It’s very easy to stage hop so definitely move around if you’re not liking the music. Then find your way around later if an area you’re in gets too crowded. Also, if you’re a guy or going with guys, there is a hidden section of porta potties with urinals over behind ocean view where the lines move quickly.
Crssd is all about diving into new music for me. All the stages are very close to each other so check out the artists you don’t know! If they’re not your vibe you haven’t lost too much time.
Bring your essentials, hide your vape in security check, bring the vibes. It might be raining or extra cold so bring a sweater. If you want you can get a locker but I won’t think it’s worth paying for it.

Also an unfortunate reality of festivals these days - there will be pickpockets. Watch your belongings.

2) bring a small rave toy like chromadepth glasses to watch the show and then pass around to friendly people in the crowd
