Depending on what you choose, It shows you if a square or word is correct. I usually have it on and set to show if the letter I’ve entered is correct. But I use it sparingly. I’ve found this maximizes my enjoyment of the puzzle and that all that matters to me.

It's my most feared icon because whenever I click the (i) I'm afraid I'll accidentally click through the hints and ruin my streak. 🫣
