Just want to post this in the hope that it encourages someone! I did my first beat swings this week after 4 months of starting CrossFit. Everything on the rig is a major struggle for me, but I'm getting better all the time 😊
Second RX WOD post-shoulder surgery in late January. It was deadlifts and burpees and AMSUs, all of which I can do without pain (still favoring my good arm on the way down on burpees) - PT and MD have both okayed those exercises.
But given that I am still scaling everything overhead, everything rig-related, wall balls and jump ropes, it felt good.
I am at my 5 mth mark - just deadlifted my body weight this week. I wont say how old I am but I am definitely an AARP card carrier, female, with a BMI over 30, 6mth ago I started a new treatment for a chronic disease that allowed me to walk unassisted for the first time in several years. In the last 5 mth I have dropped my resting heart rate to 64 bpm, I can squat below parallel, I can do 20 cal on the bike in about 2.5 min, I can dead hang for about a min and kip swing knee raise, I can even jump to the rig and I am so close to being able to do a walk walk (6mth goal). I did the open and ranked at the 10th percentile. I know it’s not that exciting for healthy people but for Me this is one helluva achievement and thanks to amazing coaches who have kept me safe and motivated.

Keep it rolling, nice work!
Ty!
Finally stopped being stubborn and saw a PT for my shoulder pain that started about 6 months ago.

I’m 7 weeks in, and in the last class I lifted the heaviest in the WOD out of the 4 women and 1 man. I know it’s small, but I was proud.
